"This company is the worst company that I have ever had to deal with for on line orderding. first of all, I think this company is a scammer big time. First, I order this camera which was unbelievible cheap. About 800.00 dollars lower than other places. And when I tried to call them to get an order conformation, they could not even look up my order with my name. Secondly, I tried to talk to someone in management that immediately they said they were management. And it seem like everytime I would call them, the same one person could answer the phone. There is not corporate office to even speak to. When I 1st place the order the camera was 349.00, then a few days later I check on e-mail and it was down to 299.00, then a few days later is showed it was 599.00. And they changed the shipping time from 2-3 weeks to 3-4 months, then back to 3 weeks. So after getting this run around and not feeling comfortable with my order I just went ahead and cancelled. I think they try to get you to buy the high priced accessories and ship them out and for the unbelievable camera price, it always stays on backorder. Untill finally you cancel it. I don't know how to stress this any more than I have already, this company is bad news and I would never recommend this to anyone. I've tried calling the better business bureau and they said they have complaints and Camera Giants has not responded. "

"These people/this store is horrible. Rude, high pressure sales, extremely difficult to deal with. Unfortunately, I placed an order with them only to find out too late that the memory card they charged 219.00 for (yes, that figure is correct) is available for under $25.00 elsewhere. OMG!! I called them wanting to return just the memory card, was told I had ordered a "package deal", which I did not, and they could not take just the card back. If I returned everything, camera, bag and card, I would get a refund that is $130.00 LESS than what I paid. I was told I was playing games while I was constantly put on hold. Asked to talk to the supervisor, was told there are no supervisors. Ok, let me talk to a manager. Too bad, the person I'm talking to is the manager. Finally the guy said he'd refund all but the shipping charges (another rip-off) if I promised to never do business with their company again!!! Unbelievable!! This company should be shut down!
Now, though, I'm afraid to return the stuff. They'll probably say it never was returned, or was returned damaged, or whatever excuse they come up with.
Has anybody successfully returned stuff to Camera Giants? Let me know, I'd really appreciate it!

"They are SCAMMERS!!!! They offer GPS units for 50+ cheaper than anywhere else! But they want you to call and confirm orders. Which is total bs they tried making me buy batteries and chargers for a GPS which clearly is stated on about any brands website that the batteries are not customer serviceable! Anyways then he askes me if i want a 1 or 2 gig memory card. I said no, Ok order will take about 3 to 4 weeks to ship! Total BS!!!! about 2 mins later i check my email and have another email stating my order was cancelled! So they only will sell something to you if you buy there extremely I mean EXTREMELY overpriced accessories! Please don't be fooled and don't attempt to buy from them. save yourself sometime and look on ebay! I bought 4 2gb SD cards for $17 TOTAL not one 1gb sd card from them for $60. COMPLETE SCAMMERS..... luckily i have a brain and eyes and used them before i was dooped!"

"Originally I had ordered a Garmin 755t GPS fron 86th Street Photo for $285+S&H I had received a call from one of thier employees trying to get me to order a lot overpriced items, but I stuck to my gons and said that I only wanted the GPS. 2 days later, I then received an e mail stating it was back ordered for 3-4 weeks and If I wanted to cancel, I could. Checking the ads, I saw that Camera Giant, the exact ad, only different phone number was selling the same item for $259+S&H,$26 less. I cancelled the 86th Street order and receiced a cancellation conformation. I ordered the GPS from Camera Giant over the internet.
Today, I received a 2 emails, 1 a conformation of my order and 1 asking me to call "Chris" I read the reviews on this site AFTER I place the order, so I knew what Chris was going to try to do. I refused all offers that he tried to sell me and I must admit he was quite pleasant about it. It ended with him saying that I will receive the GPS in 2-3 weeks.

"I ordered a $139 Canon SD880IS. I got an email saying I needed to contact them about my order. When I did they asked me if I wanted to upgrade the battery because the one in the camera was only a 10min startup battery. They told me I could buy a 5 hour battery for $99. I said no. They replied that I had no choice. I told them to cancel the order. They said it was a $100 cancellation fee. I said fine go ahead and keep the order. Then when I checked online, they charged my card for $350!. I immediately contacted Visa to dispute the charge. "

"I got order Nikon D700 from Camera Giants on Apr 2nd 2009 and today Apr 3th i got an email they are asking me to call for the 1888 number to confirmed my order when i call them waiting for about 25 min and talk to Kenny Ext 213 , he asked my zipcode and said my order canceled cause they don't have one in stock and hangup the phone, but on they web site still avalable for you can order any time , i thing they are scamber company or they are collection customers information and resale or passing around . HIGHLY RECOMMENDED DO NOT GOING TO DO BUSINESS WITH CAMERA GIANTS . if you don't want some thing happening "

All of the companies above have the same boiler room tactics: 1) You place your order for an "In Stock" camera or other electronic item, (sometimes over a hundred dollars below the average prices at the known B+M dealers), 2) You get a call or email stating you need to "confirm" or "verify" the order with a salesperson, 3) You get lied to that the battery doesn't come with it, or you need some other part to make it work correctly which they just happen to have for you (at a price that is 3 to 6 times EVERYONE elses), 4) You smartly decline to order that part and they "cancel" your order, either with you on the phone or quietly after you have hung up thinking that 3 or 4 weeks is ok to wait since your saving $100.

You will never see that item, only the lost time. They never had any intention of selling to you at that price. It took me a while to realize that fact. I placed the orders to the places above, and after the third one was cancelled I started to do the research on these companies. I find it very interesting that the format of ALL the Invoice Order Numbers were Identical!?! (same company under many different names and locations??)

I honestly don't know how NY continues to let these people operate, their BBB ratings are all so bad that it gives the state a bad name. They don't even try to hide what they are doing. Spend your hard earned money in a state that cares and doesn't let companies like this continue to rip consumers off.

"DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CAMERA GIANTS. THEY ARE SCAMMERS.

My experience when "confirming" my web order with them by phone was like those of others. RUDE, terrible lack of customer service, trying to sell me over-priced, unnecessary accessory items. Hung up on me when I asked to have just the camera body I ordered. Called back, and was told that "THEY WOULD FILE HARASSMENT CHARGES AGAINST ME IF I CALLED AGAIN"!!!!!

They have no intention of selling the products at the prices advertised on their web site. Stay away from this business. They are not a legitimate business.

"After I made an order I found out about this scam company bad review,. Thought I will give them a chance. True enough I ordered and paid for a Canon SLR at nearly $600. Waited nearly 10 days and no sign of it arrival. No calls or emails from them too. I subsequently cancel the order. I wouldn't recommend to buy from this very unreliable company."

"Beware of www.cameragiantsinc.com. I believe this store to be bogus and possibly running scams. In doing a search for a Nikon D300 camera, RightBuyDigital.com brought them up first and the listing said the camera was $679 and was in stock. I clicked on the site listing and called the number listed ***-***-****)and got a sales person. When I told him I was calling about the Nikon D300 he said they were out and to call back in 6 weeks. Yeah, right. "

Camera Giants had the lowest price on a GPS. I did note that the accessories were way overpriced (like $39.99 for an adhesive cover for the GPS which was sent to me free by a company whom I bought a leather case from). The website was well designed and looked legitimate. I unwittingly ordered the GPS and the next day I received the following e-mail from the company:

In order to further verify your order, we will need to speak with you on the phone. Please call our Verification department at ***-***-**** Ext. 204 James so we may verify and complete processing your order.

Luckily, when I called I got a voicemail. So then I did my research and found out about this scam. Don't fall victim to this website which boasts itself as rated 5 stars in customer service. They use unethical practices and fraudulent tactics. If I lived in New York, I would walk on down to the local district attorney's office to file a formal complaint so these crooks would be put out of business and behind bars where they belong!!!

"This has got be the worst of what the internet has to offer. They Bait and Switch and have no conscious of their misdeeds. Same results as other respondents. Order placed, asked to call them via an e-mail message the next day. Told that I can buy a battery and charger for this particular Nikon Camera at an outrageously inflated price. I responded by stating that their description of their camera on line included these basic items. When told I wanted the item as listed he said was extremely defensive and rude stating it was back ordered. Just prior to hanging up the phone on me he then said that the transaction has been cancelled. The on-line listing that I found via Pricegrabber makes very specific notation that the camera is IN Stock.
In order to stop this predatory type of practice, I have informed Pricegrabber, the NYS Attoney's Generals office and Nikon directly concerning it. Hope someone does their job. In the mean time:
AVOID AT ALL COST.

"Horrible company! They really should be prosecuted under the Unfair Business Practices Act, the false and misleading advertising laws, and the rest of the Business & Professions Code (Calif) or its East Coast equivalent. These laws were enacted to stop this type of bait & switch, predatory retailer.

They did everything to me that the other bad reviews said that they did to them. This company just tries to sell you highly marked-up accessories that you don't need, and eventually tells you that the camera is backordered (after promising to ship it out the same day if you buy accessories). A friend of mine is still waiting for his camera after more than 3 months.

"I odered on the web a camera Canon SD 880IS on March 17.
On March 18 I get an email asking me to contact CameraGiants. James at x204 ask me if I want an heavy duty battery for the camera. My answer: I want what I ordered nothing more, nothing less. He tells me abruptly That I will get the camerea in 3 to 4 weeks and hangs up. On April 1st I call Camera Giants enquiring about the delivery. Jeff let me know the camera will be available at the end of May. I observe that the camera is listed as available on the website. No Answer. What Can of rating does Camera Giants deserve?
