"They had a good price listed on a canon camera so I ordered it on line. The next day I get a message to call CCI Camera and after 5 trys I get to talk to a person. He tells me that I have to spend another$130.00 for sometype of kit or he can't ship my camera. I refused to buy anything but the camera and the sales persons got mad and hung up....Really Bad Company.....DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM !!!!

"I am so dissapointed... I thought I was being so smart... I ordered a camera body only and then ordered a good lens, battery and charger from another company. Shipping for the camera was $30 and I was told it would arrive in 7-20 days because it was being shipped from overseas.... that was a month ago and it still hadn't arrived... I called today to see what was up and he said "oh do you want to order the battery?" and when I said that all I needed was the body he said it would be another 3-4 weeks... Fortunately I was never charged... I really believe that my ordered was just being ignored because I wouldn't order the expensive extra parts... "

"The reviews are quite telling, and my experience is similar. Many folks here seem to lodge complaints with the BBB - who doesn't actually have any capability to do anything at all. They're not a real agency, they are just a ratings service.

"I wonder how these people are running online shop in USA after so many fraud relted reviews are present for them. They carry a tag of sponsered merchant from shopcartusa.com and everyprice.com which I never believe. I find pricegrabber and pricescan do a better job on featuring their preferred merchants.

I Ordered Sony DVD-305 camcorder on Saturday night. I got a call from one sales guy to confirm my order. He tried to sell me accesories which I declined. After trying to sell more for few more minuites he gave me order confirmation number. Next day when I checked my order status, I was surprised to find it's cancelled.

I called them and asked why it was cancelled, they simply said that if you buy the complete package then they have it in stock (which will cost me $156 more) but they don't have the item in stock I ordered if I don't buy accesory.

I undestood that it's a scam company and so didn't argue much and let the order cancel.

"I placed an order on September 26 for a basic camera body, which was indicated as available. After three weeks, I was forced to call them (Sending an e-mail to their e-mail "Contact" only gets you a message to call them at a (toll) number. They then tried to upsell me an identical camera with over $500 of "accessories" as part of a "package". I refused, and they then said the product would ship in two weeks. That was four weeks ago and no product. Ultimately cancelled the order with no delivery!! This is a cheap marketing tactict to offer a product which they do not have and have no intention of providing - they want you to call them and buy a bunch of "accessories" which cost half as much as other stores. Stay away!!!"

"I too ordered a Canon 30D w/premium package. I did not receive a confirming email as expected, so call to see if they had received the order. Upon checking my order, the rep began to pitch an upgrade to a package with two lens. I declined.

I did verbally accept an additional battery and charger for ease of mobility, although his attempt was to say the package didn't come with a battery. I didn't argue that fact but completed the purchase. I requested a final balance and was quoted $1138.

I still did not receive any email about my order so checked my credit card account and noticed a authorization request (not actual charge yet) for $1698. I attempted to contact their customer service but to no avail. I continued to let the phone ring until a forced disconnect by the phone company. I did this exercise 6 times for a total of 12 minutes of ringing!

I contacted their customer service the next morning after four 2 minute ring sessions. When I attempted to correct the order, I was told I had authorized the changes. I replied that I had not. At this point, Ronnie got very rude and began to tell me that changing my mind was not a refundable option (the person the day before said I had 21 days to see if I liked the product).

Ronnie began to tell me to shut up. My reply was "No, you need to shut up and listen and cancel the order." He became extremely rude and continued to tell me to shut up and listen. He finally said "Shut the f*** up!" I responded with "Excuse me? You need to shut the f*** up!" At this point he replied "Shut the f*** up! I'm going to cut your f****** lips off!". I was astounded. Although I did not have my tape recorder handy (I use it to record conference calls), I informed Ronnie I was taping this conversation and would report this incident to the BBB and Federal Trade Commission. I was also going to check on legal actions.

I finally hung up as he continued to ramble on, but in a much changed tone. I've contacted the BBB of NYC (www.newyork.bbb.org) and the Federal Trade Commission. I have also posted my experience on ripoffreport.org and this site. I find their website (royalcamera.com) displaying a 5 star merchant for everyprice.com and shopcartusa.com truly stercoraceous!

Additionally, my cc account must be changed and the charge disputed.

"I feel stupid. I wish so very badly that I had read all of these reviews. On ShopCartUsa this company has great reviews. People say things like, "the best customer service." I order this camera based on these reviews. After my horrible service & experience I started researching the company. I found this website. My story is almost identical to everyone else's on here. "This is a fraud company. You have pscho people who operate this firm and the one I had the PRIVELEGE to talk to was Max. I bought a D70 from the website and then received a voicemail asking me to call to confirm. I called and the rudest Customer Rep replied. He tried to sell me stuff and when I said I am not interested he asked me " HOW DO U THINK YOU WILL USE IT - WILL YOU SHUV YOUR FINGER IN IT??". I told him its none of his business and he responded my saying " NO DO U WANT ME TO SEND YOU A FRAME SO THAT YOU CAN FRAME AND KEEP It?" . When i said I would complain him to BBB he then went about saying" YOU ARE A FOREIGNER AND YOU WILL COMPLAIN!!". At that point I cancelled the order and lodged a complain at the BBB. My file number is 4423757. I cancelled my credit card because these people are freaks!! "

"I tried to order Nikon D200, the saleperson told me D80 is much better and newer, also stated there are two D80 models which is fales, he sold me D80 body plus 5hrs battery and 512 mb card
for $1228. on their own websit price listed a package withevery thing I bough plus two lenses is $919. The saleperson was rude
After you placed a order, you hardly reach them to make a complain. I have no choice but return the merchandise back to them and notify my credit card co to dispute the charge.
this CCI camera city is scam, they listed the low price to trick you to buy, Pleas do not put yourself into their scam.This is the worse exeperience I ever had in my lifetime. Again DO NOT BUY

"Talk about bait and switch! I was emailed to confirm my order and when I did, he started in on telling me everything that I wasn't getting! No where on the web site did it tell me that I wasn't getting anything that is supposed to come with the camera body. And he wanted an addtional 250 dollars for that! I canceled my order then and there, and called up my credit card to alert them to this fraud. Hopefully they won't be charging me anything.
But these guys are con artists, pure and simple.

"This order taught me the meaning of "Bait and Switch." Camera listed at $349. We received a phone call the following morning, telling us we had just ordered "just the shell of the camera," with Asian writing on the buttons, no software or other gear, and no warranty, because this was an Asian model! We were then offered the "U.S. kit" of the same model for $649.98 and told it would arrive in four days. Weeks went by, and we cancelled the order and considered ourselves fortunate to get a full refund."

"I have just made the a report with the Bureau of Better Business at www.bbb.org. My complaint # is 4388381.
On Monday, 10/23/06, I purchased a Canon D30 (dslr camera) body only, and one lens from www.ccicameracity.com. The camera (body only)is advertised for about 1/2 the camera (body only) charged by competitors, and the lens was about market price, I elected to buy just those items from this vendor. (On 10/23/06, my order was Canon D30 $569.00, and a Canon 17-85 lens $459, 3-day shipping $119.99). I've noticed in days since this order that the prices fluctuate dramaticly on this site, daily.

I made purchases from 5 separate vendors that day, since the accessories at CCI Camera City are marked up to as much as 9 times the cost from other vendors. The shipping was a staggering $100 for these two items, and did not list an estimated delivery date, so while it seemed pricy, I requested 3 day shipping for $120.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, 10/24/06,I checked my personal email and saw that the company was requiring me to phone them to confirm the order. I was surprised to see this email since I sometimes don't check my personal email for as long as a week and I was under the impression that the order was already confirmed online and that I was paying for express shipping.

Since it was Tuesday afternoon, I was at work, but at this point, it was already a day later, which meant that the shipment would be delayed. I called the company from my office to confirm the order. A salesperson came onto the phone and asked me for my Visa's 3-digit Security Code. When I gave him the code, he began to try to upsell my order to include additional accessories, (additional lenses, software, battery, memory card, etc.) The camera that I purchased was advertised at an amazing deal, however, I already knew that the accessories were outrageously overpriced, which is why I purchased them elsewhere, in the first place.

When I explained that I did not wish to order the additional accessories, he became very condescending and rude and asked angrily "How do you think you're going to get it to work?" I was taken back by this comment, obviously if his company was concerned about the integrity of selling the camera (body only) as a standalone product, they wouldn't sell it as a standalone product. However, I told him that I was calling to confirm the order that I'd placed online, but that I didn't wish to purchase anything in addition.

He then asked me what I was going to use the camera for. At that point I told him that it really wasn't any of his business, but could he please just send me what I had ordered. He began to yell over the phone that the comment that I'd made was rude, and kept yelling "Am I being rude to you? Am I being rude to you? Is this the way that treat people?"

After a pause, I asked "Can you just send what I've ordered?" He yelled "No! And I'm going to charge your credit card a $10,000 cancellation fee!" Obviously, this was an outrageous threat. I did not cancel my order. I simply refused to purchase anything in addition. I said, "Then, I will report you." He threatened, "I've got your credit card information, and I know how to use it." At that point, I had to hang up. I phoned my bank, immediately, and explained the situation.
They closed my credit card account and they are issuing a new card (this takes 5-7 working days).

After this experience, I did a quick search on the company. What I found was chilling. There are several different sites which have already reviewed this company. There are pages of reviews, many accounting near-exact detail to what I have just described. Some have different complaints. I have not yet found another review describing threats to their credit card.

The common trick seem to be this:
If found this vendor through www.froogle.com, by doing a search on the model camera that I wanted to purchase (Canon 30D). Many retailers selling this camera come up on the search. Since the buy price on the camera is lowest at CCI Camera City, Inc, this vendor is listed first on the search.

I have reported this incident to my financial institution and I plan to report it to Visa Merchant Accounts and Canon, as well.
