"Horrible experience. They are rude and the sales people make deals which are not honored by customer service, which then charges you more. I ordered a Nikon lens. John, the sales person, suggested a better lens and then convinced me to cancel my Nikon d200 with 18-200 lens order from Amazon. He said he would offer me the American package for the camera and lens I had ordered from Amazon with the lens I had ordered from him for $2100.00 and no additional shipping over the cost of shipping the lens. He suggested some filters, which we added and a memory card, which we added and then decided against. John OKed the package prior to the memory card addition with his manager. Customer service refused to honor the deal he made about shipping costs.My boyfriend told them it was disreputable to charge more for shipping than was agreed upon and canceled the entire order. When I called back to John to tell him customer service did not honor the deal he made, another sales person answered. He told me I changed the deal by canceling the memory card. I told him the deal was make before John added on the memory card. He actually yelled at me "I don't care what you have to say, lady. Did you or did you not change the order You wasted John's time and then canceled the order. I don't care what you have to say. Future buyers beware, you do not want to do business with people like this."

"I placed an order with this company for a Canon Digital Rebel Xti along with the lens before I read all the reviews. I can't believe what I have been reading. How do these low lifes stay in business? I since cancelled my order and had to close out my credit card for fear of being charged anyway. This company should definitely be investigated and shut down. This would make a great investigative story on "60 Minutes"."

"STAY AWAY--when I called to confirm my order and found out it would be $200 more than I thought, I told them I was not interested and to cancel my order. They said, "No--I won't cancel it. You will have to call customer service (yeah, right) and the fee for canceling an order is $50"."

"Stay away from this scam company! I tried to return the camera that was sent to me (was NOT what I ordered, the Canon Digital Rebel xTI but a knock-off version of FAR less quality.) During the attempt to return phone call, (It took me well over a week to get a hold of an actual person) I was verbally harassed and told that I would be charged over $100 for return shipping (a 3 lb package) and a $100 restocking fee. These scammers know what they're doing and apparently use legal loopholes to stay in business. DO NOT order from them unless you want a six month headache!"

"Ordered a canon SD630 for the low price of $214 Store called to add accessories. I refused. Seller claimed camera was grey market. All I would get was the camera itself and it would take 3 weeks to deliver. Nothing else. Tried to sell me retail box version for $299 and I would get it now. I refused. Kept trying to change my mind, then said thankyou for wasting my time and hung up. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. GO GET YOUR CAMERA AT AMAZON FOR THE SAME PRICE!!!"

"I found this vendor on Froogle.com. I placed my order on Sunday December 3. I received a call on THURSDAY December 7 to confirm my order, however they left the message on my home machine. I called back to confirm my order and left a message. The next day I received a call again, again to my home phone #, and a message on my machine that there was a problem with my credit card (which there most certainly was not) and they needed to speak to me personally to clarify it, as well as discuss other items I would need for my purchase. I then went onto the yahoo ratings and read up what many others had to say about this merchant, and it was exactly what was happening to me: bait & switch. I tried to contact the merchant on Saturday December 9 but they had their answering machine off. They called me again at my home numer on Sunday morning, however I was not home. I returned their call within 5 minutes and got their voicemail and told them to just cancel the order.

My main gripes are:

- Failure to ship the order in a timely fashion - Trying to scam me into buying more items than I ordered - Trying to charge me $30 for shipping. I work for UPS and I know for a fact it would cost $8 maximum to ship the box. If they have a UPS account (which I'm sure they do) it would cost them $3-$5. If they use USPS, FEDEX, or DHL, the shipping price would be very similar.

"I ordered online the Canon SD900 for a price of $320 w/ shipping the total came to $349.99
I then got a phone call from a pleasant sales person asking me if I would prefer to have the longer lasting battery and charger for the camera and also a larger memory card. Now since I planned on us ing this Cam for under water photography I said yes, didn't want to be running out of battery juice in the middle of a dive.

they never gave me a price, stated they would email me a new confirmation/order total which they never did.

how I sent 2 emaisl requestions an update on my order, I had ordered numerous things that week for holiday gifts and they were the only ones who did not email me a tracking #.

I got an email reply advising me to call their 718 number. which I did and was finally given
a tracking number/shipping information

I get my camera, and a 128mb card. the so called better battery and charger. well....

the batter, charger that came w/ the camer comes standard per the camera box... and my card was ch arged $549.96

so essentially I've paid $199 for a 128mb card which goes for roughly $20

I tried to call them friday however ended up w/ a very nasty salesperson who did not even bother to identify himself or if I called CCI he just very nastily kept asking me what do you want...

I'm filing a complaint with my credit card and anyone else who I can

"I was given the bait-and-switch pitch by a very rude salesman who emailed asking me to call to confirm my order. After refusing all the upsell he told me the camera I ordered had menus in another language and the English version is 3x the price. Fortunately the order was cancelled, hopefully my CC won’t be abused.

"CCICamera city is as bad as it gets. I ordered a Cannon Powershot SD600 as a Christmas present. I received 2 phone calls concerning the billing for my order a week later. I succumbed to upselling to one level higher of a package (which I regretted later). Later that day when I checked on the billing I was surprised to see that I was charged significantly more for the order. SO I called back to cancel, was disconnected. This happened 5 more times that evening. The next day, and 3 more phone calls alter where I just kept getting to transferred to yet another person who could not help me I finally ended up speaking to a supervisor. After spending 5 more minutes trying to get me to buy more crap I didnt want, he stated that if I cancelled the order I would be charged a 15% restocking fee (on an order that never shipped). He calculated this at 49.95 on a 249.00 order (20% fee not 15%). When I pointed out that their own website stated a 10% fee on RETURNED items and staid nothing at all about cancelled orders he proceeded to call me by a derogatory name and the **REFUSED** to cancel my order and promptly hung up on me. I called back to a different number and had to threaten disputing any and all charges from CCICameracity and filing a complaint through the Better Business Bureau before anything was done. Fortunately this last person was polite and resonable and the order was finally cancelled. While I would hope I met the only person in the company completely unsuited for any sort of customer service positionm reading the other reviews this appears to be the standard operating procedure there. I will NEVER consider doing business with them again."

"I have putted an order for nikon D80 travel package, later I received an e-mail to ask me calling back to confirm my order. When I called back, the guy who took my call ask me to order extra stuffs. I told him I don't want any extra stuff, he said the delivery time will be one year later. If I order extra stuff, the delivery time wil be 5 days. So i decide to cancel my order.

I'll never shop on this store again. I think they are not honest and cheat customers.

"This company seems to run a bait and switch operation. I was called after my order to with a strong arm sales pitch to buy extra overpriced accessories. "I tried to purchase the Canon Powershot S3 IS from ccicameracity after seeing the great price online doing froogle search. I ended up purchasing it online. I later received an email saying to please call in. I did so and received an agressive upsale that was very condesending. They were pushing memory, straps, warrenty, etc, and for an extremely high extra cost. I said no of course. This made the person upset and start insulting me telling me I must not know about cameras, etc. Then was told it would take over 2 months to get one in that was stripped down like I wanted. I really didn't want it stripped down, as the camera normally comes with these items, but had no choice with their scam high costs for those items. I ended up calling them back that afternoon to try to cancel my order. They hung up on me three different times when I attempted to cancel. The last time they told me that I was to be charged a large restocking fee... even though they had already said it was not there and would take months to arrive. I got off the phone and ended up CANCELLING my CREDIT CARD w/ my bank ASAP and was lucky enough that they hadn't had time yet to charge against it. I would not give them any Credit Card number. You will end up having to do anything to keep those NY asses from stealing from you if you do. They will try to steal from you too if you order from them. Do not tempt fate. Order elsewhere and spread the word about those asses! Bananaboat appears to also be the same company as I called there afterwards and got a simular sounding person with the same tactics."
