"Long story, short. I pre-ordered a game. I called several times on Saturday, (after tracking down their numbers from the yellow pages and not their website).

After going through phone calls with in-store managers and Internet sales people I was told that even though I had pre-ordered my order could not be expedited (it had not even been processed though I confirmed that they had my order by order number and I confirmed that they had the item in stock). The sales person could not even say why my order had not been processed.

The most frustrating thing throughout all of this was the nonchalant way in which my questions were handled. It was as if these people felt that they were the only game in town and that they were oblivious to their bad reputation.

So there you go... Buy Rite is apparently Buy Wrong!

" ***This company is an online fraud period.*** They act as if they are a reputable online site to buy games, they are anything but that. Games are listed as if in stock and ready to ship then take days if not weeks to just process the order then never ship the product. Two major black flags is they are nearly impossible to reach and if you do good luck. Second thing is they never send a confirmation order but will draw your money out. So they get their money and they're happy. However I refuse to let them rip me off so I put my order in dispute and my bank is refunding my money. I suggest anyone else to contact their card company they used to make an order to do the same. If you read previous posts you can get info on the company for contact numbers and other info to report them to the authorities if needed. Overall just stay far far far away from this site."

"This company sucks!! I ordered a import version of a hard to find game for a friend and have never even recieved a confirmation e-mail that it was shipped....however they did manage to be johnny on the spot when it came to billing my credit card!
6 phone calls (long distnace) and either no one answered the phone 20 to 30 rings or they gave me a BS excuse that it was just about to ship (the first call). I've e-mailed them numerous times and never recieved a response other that suddenly recieving there latest ad via e-mail. No one should ever buy from this F**ked up company.
I'm no out $65.00 and nothing to show for it not even a lame it was shipped excuse!!

"I bought an import game for Sega Dreamcast last march (25th) from Buy-Rite.
More than 4 months later (now july 25th) my order is still processing(?).
I did try to contact them but phone never give an opportunity to speak with a representative. Worse, I dropped 8 e-mails to their official contact information, plus 2 e-mail via web form... all un-answered.
Last chance was fax number, which lead to a weird voice box. I sent 10 times the same message with a copy of their last e-mail (on march 27th).
I don't know what to do next(?).

"We placed two online orders with Buy Rite Video Games. One was for a game system, Game Axe – System, at a cost of $119 + shipping on July 4, 2003. On July 5 we placed an additional order for $80 worth of video games. Both of these purchases were made with my son's birthday gift money from his grandparents from their website on July 4, 2003 using a credit card.

My first concern was that I never received a confirmation email. After a few weeks I tried calling the phone number at the website ***-***-****) but there is only a list of menus and there is no option to speak to a real person. We chose expedite shipping, which was expensive, but wanted to get the games before the birthday. The birthday has come and gone and as of now we have yet to receive anything except promises in email.

The first email reply from Buy Rite stated that the games we ordered were out of stock and that the order number was cancelled, but the email listed the purchase order number for the Game Axe System. We emailed the company again asking for clarification as to whether the Game Axe System order had been cancelled or the video games order had been cancelled. We received confirmation that the Game Axe System order was cancelled. As of today we have not been charged for that order, thankfully, but we have been charged on our credit card for the 79.88 worth of video games. The emails we received were only responses to our queries at their website form about our order and never initiated by Buy Rite. (Their replies to our emails are dated July 12 and 13, 2003.)

Thanks to someone who listed a phone number at Reseller Rating.com (which I wished I had found before ordering) was I able to contact a human on July 18, 2003. I was told on the phone by the salesman that the "computer system was down" and they could not find our about the status of my order, but that it should be up later today or tonight. I told the salesman that I was looking at a website with some very unfavorable comments on their business practices to which he responded that a new owner was now in charge.

While on the phone I asked the salesman to speak to a manager. I was transferred to Tina, whose only response when I asked if she was the manager was, "How can I help you?" Tina somehow managed to check and discover that our order had been shipped! (Amazing feat since the salesman couldn't check it as the computer was down!) I had asked how the items would be shipped since we had paid extra for "expedite." I learned on the phone that expidite means priority mail! However, Tina could not tell me when they would arrive or provide a tracking number.

I have ordered many things online from very reputable companies who conduct their business in a very organized manner. We will keep our fingers crossed that these items will arrive in working order. "I just ordered about $200 worth of classic video games on Monday and was having a hard time getting in touch with anyone. Here are 2 numbers to call if you are having difficulties. The guy I spoke with said they changed locations again.

***-***-**** then press 1 three times there will be some music and someone should pick up. I reccomend calling after 10 AM. Also, don't be mean on the phone or you will probably not get what you ordered.

"i had just recently ordered from this company about a couple of days ago. after placing my order and waiting 2-3 days, i still did not get any kind of email confirmation regarding the order. what i usually do is save out the receipt page for the order number, but somehow, when i opened the receipt page back up, the info was not there (i'm guessing it was dynamic only), so i lost my order number. then i surfed around and read user reviews and found out how many dis-satisfied customers there were with buyritegames, i tried to call/email them to cancel my order. their phone support number on the site does not give you an option to speak rith a rep and even in the buy option on the phone, no one picked up. so i had to shut down my credit card, so that they wouldn't bill me as to prevent going through a dispute process later.

i thought it would be a reputable site because they had such a nice site looking site, but after reading about all the horror stories, i was scared enough to stop the order.

"No customer service. In an industry that is becoming more and more customer service orientated this company does the complete opposite, worthless in all aspects. After never receiving replies to my emails I then began searching the Internet for a phone number where someone would actually address my concerns - i.e. no product but charges on my card.

I found a great website where the whole intent is to bash Buy Rite. This little beauty of a website had the phone number to the brick and mortar facility in North Carolina. After repeatedly being hung up on and disconnected I finally requested a supervisor. After being put on hold then hung up on I received an email saying my account would be credited. At least it's a response. Of course, so far I haven't received the refund. I've learned my lesson these people are corrupt and a front for an Internet scam. They should be shutdown.

"There's a reason this place has a rating of absolute zero. I placed an order about three weeks ago and I haven't recieve my order or even a tracking number. They don't respond to email or pick up the phone when you call. They claim to have the lowest prices but that doesn't really matter because you won't ever get the stuff you buy. Currently I'm filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and my Credit Card company to get my money back. They've had 157 Complaints with the BBB in the last year(which I should have checked BEFORE I ordered). Save yourself time and money and buy you games somewhere else, because these people will take your money and won't give you your stuff. I'm surprised these guys are still in business. "

-I ordered 2 wireless XBOX controllers on June 2nd, 2003. My CC was charged , thru Paypal, on 6-3-03.

"I ordered the product in question (Dreamcast VGA Adapter) on March 9th and my problem is that I have not received my product yet. My credit card has been charged as of March 9th and even though I paid them for 2-day EXPRESS delivery of the product I am here almost 3 months from when ordered the product and have yet to receive it. What angers me even more is the fact that I have e-mailed them through the only way they allow which is through their website and have NOT received a response to either of the e-mails. I have not received a tracking number or any other type of documentation to tell me that my order is being serviced. I have also called the number listed on the Better Business Bureau website to only receive smug attitudes toward customer relations as well as a long-distance maze of nothing but dead-ends. When I called them and actually got an answer I asked if I could check on an order that I had placed almost 3 months ago. The man on the other end of the phone told me I would have to call another number in a very disgusted tone. I then had to ask him for that number. I got the number and called it to receive nothing but a busy tone (I called almost nine times to receive the same busy signal). I then called the first number AGAIN and received a second number to call for the information that I was requesting. I proceeded to call this number and received an automated information line that was only for answering obvious questions and when I pressed 2 for order information I received a message telling me that I would get speedier service if I e-mailed them through their website. Funny, I already did that TWICE and received NO replies after three months. I feel that enough people have been screwed by this horrible company. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!I don't believe they are in the business of helping people as much as they are hurting people."
