"I ordered a Dreamcast broadband adaptor from BuyRite after I noticed that they had one listed on their site. It said to send an e-mail to them, so I did, and I got a reply about it being in stock and its price, and a few days later they'd changed their page so it was actually able to be purchased. I placed the order, but was sent an ordinary modem instead of the BBA. Although they look similar, I would've figured somebody there would've known the difference. I informed them by e-mail about the wrong item, and sent the modem back with a copy of the e-mail they had returned to me authorizing a return. They appologized for the inconvienience, and said they'd send the correct item the next Monday, and I'd get tracking info, which I never got. Anyway, I did actually receive the BBA in the end, but it looks as though I got lucky from what I've heard from others ordering from BuyRite."

"Never sent me a order confirmation on my pre-order. Charged my credit card a week and a half before the item shipped. Only sent the item after extensive attempts to contact them and threatening to take action. Never recieved any acknowledgement of their failure to adhere to their company policy of billing upon shipment of item. Did not send me a receipt. Never was able to speak to support staff in person even though the site said the best way to reach them was by phone."

"Never buy anything from this company! Very BAD BUSINESS. Everything I just read about on this site happened to me. I too tryed getting a refund from my credit card company but they said it is a third party charge and it could not be refunded. So now I'm still trying to get an answer from this company to no avail. October 11th I spoke to a lady (Nicole)who said she was the manager and that the video game just came in and they will ship it at no charge next day service. Never recieved item. Still always busy. I just found out a few addresses from calling information (411). From out of state it's ***-***-****. They have three addresses and phone numbers in North Carolina for this company. too many people are loosing too much money. Something needs to happen. I'm going to proceed with the better business bureau and the atty general along with sending them letters and calling again. BAD Experience!"

"Sadly, I too ordered from buyrite. I thought it was a great way to get Burnout 3 on the cheap. I really wish I had done my research but they seemed to be a reputable company. I ordered on October 5 and like many others was charged a few days later. I assumed this meant it was being shipped because as far as I'm aware they can't charge you before shipping the damn product. So I wait about three weeks after receiving no email confirmation or any replies to my follow up emails and call up because I am really annoyed. It takes me about 2 hours to get through because it is always busy. I finally get through and speak to a woman and she explains that they were currently sold out of the item BUT they just received a shipment and because I had to wait they were going to send it on overnight shipping at no extra charge! This was on a Saturday, 10/24/04 and she said I would receive the game on Monday. Hurrah I thought!

Monday came and went. So did Tuesday, Wednesday, etc. So I waited until Thursday 10/28 and called at 4:30pm est. I was told that the department that could handle my inquiry was closed. To me this was curious as last time they had not sent me to another department for assistance. So I called the next day. Took an hour to get through. This was at about 3:00pm and they tell me again that it is closed. Even though it is supposed to close at 5:00pm?!? I thought well it is Friday I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. So I call on Saturday at about 2:00pm est and I'm told they've gone home for the day again but after I had explained that I was supposed to receive the shipment last Monday I am told that that information is wrong.

In fact, I'm practically accused of lying because the lady tells me no one could make that assessment because they don't have that information. (Are you telling me they don't track their orders?) I tell her someone gave it to me and she's like well it isn't possible. (Are you kidding?!? Who is the customer here?) She tells me that yes Burnout 3 was backordered but that I would have to wait for it to get shipped.

I just received an email from them, the FIRST email I might add saying that my item is being shipped. Now I'm concerned that I won't get what I've ordered and I want the word out that it isn't worth saving money...never use buyrite! They are worthless. I will send a letter of complaint after I get my game and tell them about the movement to damage their business. They are worse than Comcast!

Oh and I hate when they ask you what your invoice number is because well, they never gave me one in the first place!!!

"This item was a pre-order guaranteed to be shipped upon release. Nothing after two weeks (though they did charge my card). Did receive one email promising a shipping date which came and went without further communication. Impossible to communicate with "customer service" (phone is always busy). Finally cancelled charge with my credit card company. Beware! "Buy Rite" is the wrong place to buy! "

"This company must be a bunch of con artists. I wish I'd known about resellerratings.com before shopping at BuyRiteGames.com (AKA BuyRite.com)

I made 3 orders from them in a row, then received an email saying my 'entire' order was cancelled due to lack of stock. I sent them an email asking for clarification of whether all or just one of the orders were cancelled, but received no reply.

Then, 3 MONTHS later, I received a battered copy of one of the games that I ordered, with two of the four disks missing, even though no indication was given at the site that the games were used in the first place.

I tried calling their customer service (and dialed it correctly), but I was forwarded to some medical institution for the elderly, who said they were received many such calls.

I tried emailing them again to complain, this time using their online form, but have yet to receive a reply.
I'm glad they cancelled 2 of my 3 orders in the first place, since at least I can cut my losses.

Under NO circumstances should ANYONE try to make an order from this company. If I had anything to do with it, they would be under investigation for fraud.

"First off DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PURCHASE ANYTHING FRO THIS f**KED UP COMPANY!!! Okay! To make a long story short, I was suckered into there Bull$hit! Like everyone else was. I placed my order in on Sep. 30th 2004 and it's Oct. 19th. Called several times and could never get a confermation #. When I finally could get through to a human I was told my order was processed and my Sega genesis fighters bundle was being shipped. When I read all the other reviews; it seems like I'm never gonna get my order, just maybe a migrain headache! It's when a person puts an order in it seems like they send a person to go steal the merchandice from some random person house, and if they can't find it u won't get your order. Or until they do find it. Thats how shady it seems like they are!

"Order was placed online July 15, 2004. Credit card was charged July 19, 2004. Two items were not available and not charged...no problem..4 others were charged. Three weeks later..no shipment...after 3 calls received two of the items. Three weeks later received after 3 more calls received one more item. Three calls later was told they would ship one item and refund the balance...I got the item....the refund is still not applied ....It's OCTOBER 11th. I couldn't rate this store any lower....PITIFUL customer service...If you have any questions about their abililities...call their toll free number and listen to the laughable phone system."

"I ordered some games from the Buy Rite Video Games web site with expedited shipping in september 2004. The total came to just over a hundred dollars. I printed the receipt, but never received email confirmation of the purchase. A few days later, when the goods did not arrive, I checked the Buy Rite Video Games policy and saw that if there was a credit card problem, I would not be notified.

I assumed this was what happened and bought some of the items elsewhere. However, I noticed a few days later that I had been billed for around seventy dollars. I sent several emails and somehow found the voicemail in the confusing support number's automated (irritating) message. I left my number and requested a call back as soon as possible. After not hearing anything back on this urgent issue, I contacted the company for a final time, informing him I would be disputing the charge with my bank.

Now, almost a month later, my bank has given me my money back and is going after the guy with the dispute. Now, I had used the site problem-free before, but after reading all the complaints, I'm surprised I ever got any of my orders!

"Customer service is worthless. They were unable to give tracking information, they had no management, I was hung up on and they failed to send me an email response as promised. "First thing: DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!! Conduct searches on Google and you'll find hundreds of people that have been defrauded!!!

On August 18, 2004 I ordered two games from Buy-Rite. On their website one game, cubivore was priced at 6.99 the other was a new copy of Halo for 14.99. I never received an email confirmation but a charge for 39.94 posted to my credit card immediately. I hadn't requested express shipping such as FedEx or UPS two day, so there was no explanation for the price. I tried emailing them four time for an answer and got no response. I called four times but the person that handle orders was always out that day, or had already gone home for the day (10:00 am their time).
I waited and didn't get a response or hear anything for two weeks. On Sept 2nd 2004, I began emailing (11 more) and calling again (7 more calls). As expected I received no replies to the emails, and the individuals at buy-rite always responded the same "He's out today", "He's gone for the day", "you have to email us", or "he's at lunch". I told the girl at buy rite that I was canceling the order and wanted a refund, I told the same to two men there on two subsequent phone calls. Just to make sure, I emailed this to them twice just to make sure. I also called my bank and initiated a charge-back and fraud complaint.
Interestingly, on the 14th of September I received an automated email from Buy-rite informing that they had mailed my games. I thought perhaps that the fraud complaint had succeeded. Today I received the package from buy-rite, opened it and noted that it only contained one of the games that I ordered (Halo). The game wasn't even new as advertised, The case was the type distributed by game rental chains, with "not for resale" printed on the cover. This gets worse, I opened the case and there was no disc in it!
I contacted my bank about the claim, it seems that this isn't an uncommon tactic among fraudsters. They count on most people no pursuing a complaint, simply getting aggravated and giving up. When someone does complain, the fraudster mails an empty or incomplete package with a tracking number. Once you accept the package they have proof of delivery, and you have to go through a lot more to get your money back. I'm not giving up, I've filed a complaint with their State's Attorney General's Office, The Better Business Bureau, and even their local TV News consumer advocate.

Protect yourself, avoid Buy-Rite video games!
