Forced by United Health Care to use the worst pharmacy

"We have been trying for more than two months to get this company to provide medication to a Dr. for a medical issue. After multiple calls and horrible customer service we ended up paying out of pocket for medication that is covered by UHC - they just can't seem to get their acts together. Tried to get a simple receipt for the medication today and they say they have no record of us paying for the drug - but I am looking at a statement showing their name, the date, and the cost. Was told I would have to get it from the Doctor. Are you kidding me?????!!!!! The Dr. didn't pay for it, we did.

I was asked to provide feedback at the beginning of the call, and I said I would. When I told the "customer service" rep that I wanted to be sent to that option after our call, he did not do it. Surprise, surprise. I see why this place gets one stars... guessing most of us would give it negative stars if that were an option!

If you have a choice - DON'T USE THIS PHARMACY. If, like me you don't, it's just one more example of how our health care is forced on us by people who don't care about people but about money.

The worse specialty pharmacy you can use. The customer service for this company is horrible

"I called to refill prescription and never received the order. A week later I called
to inquiry about the delivery and they said they had no record of me calling. My phone has me calling on May 5th at 7:48 pm. I asked for a manager and was left on the phone holding for a long time. I wish my company would switch pharmacies. I have had several issues with this pharmacy.

Lies lies and more lies

"My Dr ordered shots for my knee from optim rx. I called Optima in Feb and was told I would not owe anything for these shots. Then I received a bill for $298.10 from Briova and called on 3-9-20 Per James (don't think that is his real name) Optima is NOW Briova, he said I owe nothing, so just ignore the bill. Then I get another bill in April. I call and Pam says, oh yes you owe us that amount. I ask why I was told twice that I owe nothing. She says well we didn't have a final payment from your insurance company. I call back and get Jovan and ask for a supervisor. I told him I should have been told the first 2 times that they had no idea what I would owe until my insurance paid. Not tell me you owe nothing. They could not get a supervisor on the phone because they were all busy, so they said a Mary will call me back. I bet they are busy if they lie to people like they did to me"

"IMAGINE ALL THE WAYS IN WHICH A COMPANY CAN SHOW INCOMPETENCE AND OUTRIGHT NOT CARE AT ALL ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS. THIS IS THAT COMPANY.

IN LIFE YOU ONLY COME ACROSS A FEW COMPANIES THAT ARE JUST SO BAD YOUR HEAD EXPLODES.

THIS IS ONE OF THOSE COMPANIES.

REASON: THEY ARE GUARANTEED BUSINESS FROM THE HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES WHICH FORCE THEIR INSURED (ME THE PATIENT) TO USE THIS PHARMACY.

AT ALL COSTS, OVID THIS PLACE. IT IS A NIGHTMARE! REPEAT . . . NIGHTMARE!

The worst dude

"I’m forced to use this pharmacy because they’re the only ones who have my meds. EVERY MONTH I call to refill my medicine, it’s something. I don’t even understand how a pharmacy can **** this bad. You’d think after calling monthly for the last 6 months with NO INSURANCE CHANGES, it should be a simple quick refill. NO. Half the time I don’t even get my medicine on time and end up cussing the person out. Also, 100% of these people don’t speak proper English so it’s already hard to understand them. I cannot STAND dealing with these people every month. Thank god it’s not life threatening if I don’t get my medicine on time. "

horrible service

"I have had ongoing issues with this pharmacy and getting my meds on time. I take an injection every 28 days to control pain. I called a week before my med was due to order my refill . I was out of refills ( why they don’t tell you this when you order your last refill, I don’t know??) so I promptly got my dr office to issue a refill. My med was due the following Thursday ( 2 days ago now) and I was told my med would be delivered Friday morning ( a day late ) . It never arrived because someone dropped the ball and didn’t process my order correctly. Now it won’t arrive until Monday ( it’s Saturday now). I will now be in excruciating pain now for the weekend requiring me to increase my prednisone dose and take a ton of Advil just to try to get through the weekend. This is completely unacceptable!"

"I ordered my medication on 12/31 so that it would be billed on my last year's insurance as I had already met my out of pocket max. But their system decided to not bill me until 1/3 causing a copay that I shouldn't have to pay and instead of the company fixing the issue they just want their money so now next week I will run out of medication and can't afford it until 1/31 thanks a-holes"

If you don’t want to die from missed medication don’t use them

"I can’t stress how terrible this insurance is, I’ve missed so many medications because of their incompetence and terrible customer service. A week ago I needed a vacation override for a month trip that I needed additional medication for and was told they would call me back, I’ve spent a total of 5 hours on the phone (one hour daily) calling to inquire on status, and they kept insisting they would call me. It’s now 3 days before my trip and still no answer. This is why people end up buying medication in the black market, insurance companies like these need to die a slow and horrible death. "

In humane treatment of patients

"I take Entyvio infusions. When my insurance changed to Sutter, Sutter worked to have my immediately needed infusion done with BriovaRX one last time. I had a wonderful case manager at Sutter working directly with Briova. The legal paperwork was filed and Sutter agreed to pay Briova. I was due fo my infusion Friday and Thursday came and went with Briova not sending me my shipment because they were waiting on ONE VP’s signature. Both companies had already an agreement via email. Briova refuses to send my drug without this one signature from a VP that was out of the office. It’s ridiculous that they continue to provide medical services, but care ZERO % about the patients. I missed several days of work and missed my meds because this company can’t get their act together! No wonder they’ve been bought and sold a half dozen times! "

"Horrible company. Took 3 phone calls and over 2 hours on hold, with my doctors help, to finally get them to do what they were supposed to do. Rude customer service. I feel bad for anyone that works for this dumpster fire of a company. "

THE WORST

"I have had the absolute work experience with this specialty pharmacy. My husband takes Humira and is supposed to get it every 2 weeks. Every single time he needs a refill we call to schedule the delivery and there is an issue EVERY TIME. This particular time I was just changing the address that it was getting delivered to and I called, was on hold for 45 minutes, they finally had me to speak to a pharmacist as well as the contact center person and ASSURED me it was 100% taken care of there would not be any issue and he would have the medication without fail on Dec 11th. Get a call from my husband today, he's breaking out in hives because he doesn't have the medication. I am on hold currently with Briova (going on minute 30 right now) and apparently it was "never taken care of on December 4th as promised" so they are "trying to figure it out and see what happened." In the meantime he does not have his medication, something very very important to have on a set schedule for it to be appropriately administered and appropriately used with the necessary results, yet they are just giving me attitude on the phone saying it's not their fault they dont know what happened they are figuring it out. Well this should have already been handled and done last time when I was on hold for 45 minutes. It's not a huge ask or a complicated issue. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops and have my husband has adverse effects because of their lack of professionalism. They are dealing with people's well-being and livelihoods and for them to screw up this much is NOT ACCEPTABLE. If you cannot get things done, don't deal with healthcare, it's far too important to have incompetent people working there and just answer with "I'm sorry, it looks like it never got taken care of". I am sick of calling, being on hold for an hour only to have 0% resolved!

So bad that its difficult to describe

"I have been forced to deal with this company for for the last two years, and I have never, even once, been able to get a prescription filled without spending literally HOURS on the phone, usually over the course of several days. No accountability. The representatives are always nice and try to be helpful, but their system is broken. OptumRx requires using Briova, so there are no choices and they don't care whether or not they do a good job or leave their members suffering and in pain for days on end, if not weeks. Briova, Optum and Oxford should be ashamed!"

Worst company ever

"I also wish there was a minus star rating. This has got to be the worst company ever. Last month they told me they switch computer systems and my information did not transfer, so they had to set up a new account for me, which took over an hour. This month when I called on December 3rd, they said that my account was not transferred, and that I now had 2 accounts, which she had to merge. After an hour, she said my pharmaceutical payment assistance card had either expired or was cancelled, and I had to call the pharmaceutical company to obtain a new assistance card. After I did that, I called Briova back and was again told for the 3rd time that my account was not set up. Another hour later, the account was finally set up and the meds were set to be delivered on the 4th. The meds never arrived, but I got sick and didn't call until the 6th. When I called, the lady said she would check, and when she got back with me after another hour on the phone, said the meds were never shipped. She said she would have someone call me to make arrangements to get my meds another way. I said that would be great, because I wanted the meds shipped to my house, since the other address was my work and I would not be there until Monday. Nobody ever called me back, so a few hours later, I again called. This time, after another hour on the phone, the woman told me that the previous woman had lied to me, the meds had been shipped and it was UPS's fault. She gave me the tracking # and told me tough luck, I'd just have to wait until Monday. I requested to speak with a supervisor, but she refused and said there weren't any available. Then she said there weren't any in. I asked her to clarify, were they just busy with other customers, or were there none in? She said there were not any supervisors in at that time. I pulled up the tracking number on UPS, and found out that the woman I just spoke to outright lied, UPS had not received the package until AFTER I called on the 6th. I again called back and asked to speak to a supervisor. This man said he would transfer me to a supervisor as soon as one was available. So the supervisors were in, the previous woman had lied to me again. After being on hold for an hour, I finally hung up. This morning, on December 9th, my medication finally arrived, but it was not even in the box it should have been in, although the bottle itself was still sealed. Unfortunately, I have no choice in who I can use, but if you do, avoid this company like the plague!"
