"i've had the same horrible experience that everyone else has had. BestPriceCameras.com is NOT a trustworthy retailer at all. At first i thought that the worst of this transaction was the extremely poor customer service. Then they added blatant lies and aggressive sales tactics. When I thought that I had everything finally straightened out, not only did they charge my account with an incorrect higher amount but the sent the wrong camera; the camera THEY insisted I should have.
I've already resolved that i may have lost $1400.00 but it won't be an easy win for them. I will fight those jerks with everything I have!
I have already contacted the NY State Attorney General's Office to get that ball rolling, while i start a few other fires.

I'M SO HURT RIGHT NOW, I CAN'T THINK STRAIGHT!

UGH, if only i had listened to my first mind...

"BEWARE! THIS STORE IS A COMPLETE CON JOB & RIP OFF. They simply want your credit card number and authorization code. Not long after I placed my order for this camera, mysterious charges started to show up on my Visa account, at first just small dollar amounts, and then progressively larger amounts. All based out of New York at the same location of this shop! I had to cancel my Visa account as a result. BEWARE .... DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR ACCOUNT INFO!

BESTPRICECAMERAS.COM-IS NOT a trustworthy seller. Placed order for Nikon D80 Body on 11/23/2007 with Credit Card. Called 5 times to follow up after being put on hold for an average of 20 mins. per call ... and each time I was promised by Chris that they would soon ship. That simply NEVER happened. Here it is 10 weeks later and still no camera.

DON''T EVEN BELIEVE THEIR ADS .... They'll simply jerk you around as they scam your credit card info. Real JERKS and CON JOBS at this NY Camera shop. Never again. (Much Better to buy locally or on west coast).

"I wish I had found this website before my own nightmare experience with our friends at bestpricecamers.com. I will not discuss the details but it was your usual bait and switch with a bit of bullying to boot.

Rather than get made I would rather get even.
I am looking into a class action lawsuit against bestpricecameras.com and all it's affliates and parent companies. If you are interested feel free to contact me.

However, in the meantime, I encourage you all to file a complaint with the NY State Attorney General's office cyber division.

Doing nothing allows these criminals to continue to scam other consumers. Lets show them the true power of the consumer.

"There are 3 important links to have on hand when you deal with www.bestpricecamera.com. One is for the US Postal Service Internet Mail Fraud Division, one for the NY Attorney General Office, and one for the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center.

http://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx

http://www.oag.state.ny.us/complaints/html/comp_consumer.html.

http://www.ic3.gov/

I"m also going to contact my local Congressman's office, my State's Attorney General, and I've also contacted Dateline and 60 Minutes to see if they would pick up the story. I would suggest everyone that has been cheated by this company do the same. If enough people complain, we can get them shut down.

Here is my story...

First, I can not believe the government allows this place to operate. I contacted their Customer Service a couple times, however the more I dig, the more I find out how much I was screwed by this company.

Their salesmen are liars, check out some of the reviews BestPriceCamera.com has on the internet, I wished I had before contacting them.

Regarding the liar I dealt with…

***He told me they were an authorized Canon dealer. That was a lie.

***He told me that he was sending me a 2 GIG memory card. That was a lie.

***He told me he was sending me a table top tripod. That was a lie.

***He told me he was sending me 2 long life batteries. That was a lie.

***He told me the 3 piece lens filter kit had glass lenses, they are plastic. That was a lie.

***He told me he was sending the 580 flash, but it was on backorder and I would get it in a few days. I never received it, that was another lie.

I called in to purchase a Canon #11 package with a Canon 580 EX Speedlite, for a total of $1,008. I was charged $1,392 and received a grey market camera, never received the flash, the 2 GIG card, the table top tripod, or the extra long life battery. Instead I got a $30 plastic lens set, a $39 tripod, a “high end” substitute camera case, a 5 year extended warranty, and one $49 battery. I was charged $743 for $268 worth of merchandise. After several calls to "customer service" and arguing with the rep, they finally sent me the small tripod, memory card (which is not the one they advertise coming with the camera) and battery. I was still shorted and charged for the flash and glass filter lens set.

"DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS MERCHANT! THIS STORE IS JUST A FRONT FOR A BUNCH OF THIEVES!

I wanted a camera system for my son and order what appeared to be a good package at a very resonable price. They called me and suggested a more expensive package. I asked them to send me an email of what we discussed so I could review it in writing. TheY never sent me the email - they just sent the more expensive package. When I tried to get a return authorization they basically laughed at me. I finally sent the package back without the return authorization but got hit with about a 15% restocking fee. I am fighting this fee with my credit card company.

The camera package they did send to me did not have any warranty information. When I called the Canon Technical Support line I was told that the camera was probably "grey market". The accessories such as the filters included with the camera were low quality. The manual was a photocopy.

Shortly after I canceled my order I noticed a fraudulent charge on my credit card for an airline flight out of New York City. I cancelled my credit card. This is the only place I had done any business with near NYC. I can only assume who used my credit card number!

"Has anyone actually seen any unauthorized activity on your credit cards that you think was from them? I'd hate to cancel my cards without need. On the flip side, they do seem like the types that might steal your identity.

Anyway, I too have had the bait and switch. Ordered the "too good to be true" camera for $419.00. (Pentax D10) Then was informed that with the battery it would be some $800.00! For a battery?! Anyway I cancelled the order, but then I saw this site. I am worried about any unauthorized charges from our friendly New Yorkers. Has this actually happened to anyone?
Thanks.

"What can I say? Same old song and dance. Ordered a Olympus Evolt E510 for $524.00. $250.00 under everyone else. "Chris" was my CSR. Emailed me to confirm order. Emailedhim back telling him to ship it-the order is confirmed. A week goes by, nothing. Finally called "Chris" and the bait and switch was on. Tried to sell me battery, charger, USB cable. Said I needed to order the "retail" package(where in the world did that come from). I said I was looking at their web site and everything he was trying to sell me was included in the kit. He said nope and I said yep. He went from $524.00 to $739.00 in a the blink of an eye. I said that ain't gonna happen and "Chris" said fine and canceled by order and hung up on me.
I have reported this to the New York Attorney Generals Office and also wrote Chris Hansen of To Catch a Predator fame(MSNBC) asking him to expose these crooks. This is right down his alley. Everyone should write to Chris Hansen and get him involved. If enough consumers did this, maybe he would. These people need to be shut down and jailed.

"The worst online shopping experience I ever had. These guys are crooks. Deceptively low price for camera claimed "USA Warranty" on web site. I took this to mean a regular US market camera. When it didn't arrive after more than a week, I called and found out it was not shipped yet "by mistake". They they asked me if I wanted a charger and battery, essential accessories normally included, for $99 extra. Say what? I found it was really a gray market camera with 3rd party "USA warranty". I stupidly agreed to the $99 because I was waiting so long. Then when it came (later than they promised), they "accidentally" forgot to include the warranty or promised free items. I called again, and when I finally got the warranty info, I found it was only for 90 day parts and 1 year labor (compared to the normal 1 year full mfgr warranty in US).

I spent almost as much as I would at a reputable store and ended up with a far worse warranty.

"After discovering this sight and its prices i thought it had to be a scam, so i googled it. i found this page telling me nothing more than that it was a hassle to order from them. Well i now have better info than that. i have just placed an order for a JVC GZ HD7US hi-def camera, which is usually about 1300 to 1500 dollars, and they are selling it for 469. so i decided to do a little experiment. i placed an order with a completely fake name and adress, even credit card number all made up on the spot! and they accepted it! this website is nothing more than a scam to get you to tell them your credit card number! DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM!!"

"AVOID AVOID AVOID -
We read all the complaints on this site about Best Price Cameras but saw on other sites where they were a "Trusted" seller and thought to ourselves, we only want a camera body and will avoid all the high pressure sales pitches to get the good price so we called them.
The conversation went somewhat like this:

US: Hello, we would like to buy the new Nikon D3 body only and have a few questions before purchasing.
Them: No Problem, How can we help?
US: Is this a grey market camera?
THEM: No, this is the American Version
US: and the price is $2649.00 ???
THEM: Yes Sir
US: Is the warranty a Factory Warranty?
THEM: Yes, it carries a 1 year factory warranty
US: Then we would like to order
THEM: Sure can I transfer you to our order department???
US: Sure, Thank you.
We were then transfered to a new gentleman with whom we asked all of the above questions a second time and received all the same answers. At this point, we felt comfortable ordering and gave them our credit card number for the order. This is where the conversation took a turn for the worse.
THEM: and would you like our extended warranty?
US: No Thank You
THEM: Do you need any Lens's with your purchase (trying hard to sell us a few but will omit that conversation)
US: No, We currently use a NIKON D200 and have all the lenses we need.
THEM: Would you like the battery or charger for the camera?
US: (having already researched battery and charger options and asked their price for a battery & Charger in an earlier phone call (WAY WAY Over Priced)) - No, all we need is the camera
THEM: Would you like the viewfinder for the camera?
US: Viewfinder??? What do you mean Viewfinder???
THEM: well, unless you have the viewfinder package, there is no way to look through the lens or see the photo you have just taken.
US: Isn't there a Screen on the back of the camera for viewing the photos???
THEM: NO - That screen is also part of the Viewfinder upgrade. You are just buying the body only.
At this point we canceled our order.
Now anyone that knows anything about cameras (Especially spending money in the $1000's) knows that a viewfinder? and a display LCD come standard on any camera purchase, body or otherwise.
He then proceeded to tell us that we were only buying the camera body, no viewfinder, no LCD, and it was a plastic body, not the magnesium body on the American D3 (Didn't we ask if it was an American model earlier - see above).
We Hung up the phone and called the credit card company who is issuing us new account numbers and new cards.
WOW - Avoid this company like the plague.

"My husband decided to try and find a better deal on the Canon HG10 Camcorder HD camcorder and found it at Best Price Cameras and was really proud he found a good deal. We were going to pay $900 at Costco.com, but insteade opted for the basic camera price of $419.00. Like the others, we received an email from Sam to call to confirm our order. Strange, but ok. We contacted them be email and phone several times, only to get unaswered emails and voice messages. Finally, my husband got someone on a line and miraclously "Sam" was standing right next to that person. He talked to my husband into getting a battery and charger for the camera - as it apparently didn't come w/ one. He kept trying to push lenses and my husband declined several times. After doing this, my husband told me about it and said that it was going to cost more like $800.00. I said that is outrageous. I tried to contact the company several times to on Jan 09 right after my husband spoke to someone to cancel the order - as i said too much for practically nothing. Of course couldn't get anyone on the line, during their "standard business hours" which finally ended with office closed. On Jan 09 we received an email at 6:44pm stating my card was declined and needed to contact them again. I checked with my credit card company and they frauded the charges of $812.99 from j&K merchant and delined the merchant. I told my credit company that the charges we not invalid, but since I had at least sent email and voice confirmations that I cancelled the order, I saw no point in cancelling out my card. My credit card company reinstated my card. I contacted BPC at 9:30am EST on Jan 10 to confirm cancellation. They stated that my order had already been shipped and charged. I asked how that was possible given my credit card was declined. They said I would have to call back at 11:00am EST to talk to someone in accounting as they weren't open till then. I called back at 11am and was transferred 3 times before someone on the line could "help" me. First person said my card was declined they couldn't help me, second person said my card was charged and order shipped, finally the 3rd person. I told her I had received a message that my card was declined (which she confirmed) but that I had already requested and wanted the order cancelled, so I just wanted a confirmation that my order was cancelled. She then put me on hold for about 5 minutes and came back on the line and stated that my card had already been charged and the item shipped. I said not possible. I don't want the item I wanted it cancelled. She then said I had to speak to someone in cancellations. Why didn't they send me there to begin with. Guy in cancellations. I now told this guy that I had ordered an item and wanted it cancelled. He said it had already been shipped. I asked how, my credit card was declined. He then mentioned that is was "going to ship." I said, well I don't want the order, I want to cancel it. He then asked why. I mentioned that it was impossible to speak to someone in the company and all emails go unanswered, I would rather just buy locally. He said "fine then, go pay $4000 at some store." I said excuse me. He told me "I don't see how we are the ones who provide bad customer service when your credit card was the one declined." I told him how my credit card company looked after my best interests and had frauded the charge. He then replied "probably because you don't make charges this big." For my case, $812.99 is not a large purchase with my credit card company and the Year I have never been with them, they have never frauded one of my charges (hindsight, should have rung an alarm bell). He then continued to be incredibly rude with me. I was at this point really frustrated and repeated to him I just want my order cancelled. He said it is cancelled. I told him if I could get my cancellation number - he then gave me one. He then continued on being completely horrible to me and something about how they are a corporation and people can't always pick up phones. I told him I have dealt and work in a corporation where we do answer phones. He continued on, I finally said - Look I just want to cancel my order and confirm I am not being charged and you confirm that - he said yes. I said thank you and I have no desire to do business with your company again. I hung up thinking it was over. I went online to look at reviews. Read some here. Then I decided I better check my bank again. Sure enough, two more charges showed as pending but this time under a merchant name of INF for the amount of $500.00 and $312.99. I immediately called my credit card company and they said that these charges weren't stopped at the point of entry and were pending and nothing they could really do until they were actually charged. I turned around and called BPC again. Finally they transferred me to an account manager. She stated my cc charges were voided. I asked why they had in turn run the charges "after" I cancelled. She tried to make some excuse as to why my card was charged. She said I could call my cc company. I said I did and they told me she could either give me a wriiten statement they did not charge or will not charge my card - which she would not do or - or contact them with the authorization codes to removed the pending charges. She gave me the these codes reluctantly. This is my nightmare to date!!!!!!

"Worst service of any online store I have ever dealt with. Ordered a Canon G-9 on Nov 20, 2007. Called to check status two weeks later and was told it would be shipped that day. Called again two weeks later and was told they were out of stock but a shipment would be received that day and my order would be out by the end of the week. Called again two weeks later and was told it was being shipped that day. Emailed them today (7 weeks after ordering) and was told it would be another 4 weeks before shipping. Requested cancellation of the order with acknowledgement by email of their receipt. Got one, but you can bet your booties I'll be checking my credit card statements after reading all the other posts (which I failed to do to begin with). This is the first and last time I deal with this business."

"They hung up on me every single time. When I called to confirm my order, they put me on hold for over an hour and hung up on me eventually. I called last time and the guy tried selling me bunch of stuff I didn't even need and lied to me saying i needed all these softwares in order for the camera to work. That was a lie and now I have to cancel my dad's credit card. This is terrible news on my part, I need thise camera for the class. I guess people who scam go down the drain one day or another. "

"This store will not provide you with what was promised by the web page. I ordered a Nikon D80 ( body only) and a Nikon 18-200MM lens to accompany the body. I received an email requesting I contact them about the order. Immediately, Ralph goes into a hight pressure sales pitch. He was trying to sell me accessories that should have come standard with the camera (battery, recharger, etc.). When I told him these things should come as part of the standard package he said they did not. I then told him Nikon does not sell the camera repackaged in this manner. His response was that this was a wholesale camera from overseas and did not contain the standard accessories. I then informed him that his web site stated that this was a usA camera with a USA warranty, he said that the warranty was HIS warranty, not a factory warranty.

I thought I had performed my homework on them before ordering, but this one got by me. Learn from my mistake. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM.

*** DO NOT BE MISLED BY THIS COMPANY ****
*** THEY ARE BAD BUSINESS ****
