"As many of the reviews have stated, this store has very serious issues. I wish I had looked at the reviews prior to attempting to order from this reseller.

As is normally the case, the pricing was too good to be true. I called and placed an order with "Bernard". I specifically asked if the Canon EOS Rebel XTi was in stock and he stated that it was. He then upsold me to a different package.

This sent off all kinds of warnings so I requested a copy of the invoice be emailed to me. I waited two days and didn't receive a confirmation. I called customer service and finally reached someone who promised to email me a copy of the sales order. I did receive the sales order via email.

But no surprise, the lens package I wanted had been changed to a less expensive combination.

I then called customer service back and talked to "Harry". Lo and behold he said he listened to the taped conversation and said, yes, I had requested the other lens and they would honor the original arrangement under a new order number. I once again asked for an order confirmation via email. Surprise, surprise I didn't receive the confirmation.

So, I called customer service back again. I knew there was trouble when I gave the customer service rep the new order number. She immediately put me on hold. When she came back on the phone she informed me delivery would be 6 weeks. I asked why I was told it was in stock when it now was a 6 week delivery item. She put me on hold until "Lloyd" eventually came on the line.

"Lloyd" feigned great offense to my clear indignation at his refusal to fulfill the order in a timely manner or to provide a new confirmation number to me saying it was not their policy (although I received a confirmation previously). After a long and difficult conversation I ultimately agreed to cancel the order because it was clear Best Price Cameras had no intention of filling the order at the agreed price with the agreed components.

All in all, it demonstrates that you get what you pay for and reputable dealers truly bring value.

"On March 13 I found best price cameras through a search engine and saw the Sony HDR-SR12 camcorder I was looking for was more than 1/2 retail. I noticed on the website it did not list what is included in the box. I call them and asked "does this camcorder include everything?" or is it just the camcorder the sales guy says "wait let me see if it's in stock". Took a couple of seconds and says it's in stock and yes it includes everything and asked if I wanted to order. I told him i'd order it on their website, he said ok and that was that. I hung up, placed the order on the website but it wouldn't submit the order. I tried several times and get a "can not display page" error on Internet explorer. I called them and they said the website was under maintainence, try again in 1 hr. No prob so 2 hrs later I re submitted my order and it went through with an order number.

The next day on Friday March 14 get a confirmation call from "Chris" and he asked if I wanted a 2, 4 or 6 hr battery with my order? I was surprised and asked "Doesn't it come with a battery?" He said no. I asked him what the cost of the 2 hr battery was, he quoted me a reasonable but not cheap price for it. I told him I'd buy a generic battery elsewhere for less. He was polite and said that was fine and I'd get my camcorder in 4-6 weeks and hung up. Not mean but hurried I guess. This made me all nervous about the whole thing.

On saturday March 12, the next day I recheck the website to see if I can get more info about them and see the camcorder price went from $600 to $850. An almost 50% increase in 1 day. That's when I got nervous and that's when I found this website and read all the other reviews. I wanted to cancel immediately but they are not open saturdays. Today March 16, I called them and asked about the status of my order. The guy said it was backordered and it would be in about 3-4 weeks. I politely told him I can't wait that long and want to cancel the order. He said "ok, it's cancelled" and hung up. Now I have to sweat and see if it's really cancelled. I sent an email to them and asked for a confirmation email that it is cancelled. I want a record of it but I doubt that's going to happen.

I wish I'd had found this website first before I submitted my cc number to bestpricecameras. But based on other's experiences I got out as fast as I could and I'm thankful for other's inputs to help me avoid future headaches. From now on I am going to check out this website and the www.bbb.org website before I do business with anyone I am not familiar with.

"Don't walk away...Run!!! The old saying is right."If it sounds too good to be true, it is. They will try every bait and switch tactic there is. If you want to buy a camera, go to the company's web site and look for trusted sellers listed there. The bad part of this is that I am buying A Nikon D3. I would not use ANY retailer in NYC, even though I know there are probably some honest ones there. I just can't take the chance. "

"Well, I guess my experience isnt all good but really also isnt all bad.

After I ordered, the sales person "Chris" called me to confirm my order. He was VERY nice on the phone, did offer me other products but didnt push it or changed his attitude when I declined. I was very pleased about that.

After I ordered I found out about this site (I had simultaneously ordered from Sonic Camera too) and the reviews really freaked me out. However since the contact so far had been extremely friendly, I decided to wait it out.

To make a long story short.. I had to call several times when the product wasnt delivered. I never had a problem getting through and everyone I talked to was always friendly.

After 3 weeks of waiting and now really getting worried I called again and the customer service rep called the warehouse while I was on hold and then told me that something on the part was broken and they refunded my money. He said they will call back when its back in stock to find out if I was still interested in purchasing it again. I asked why I wasnt notified of this and he responded that they didnt know either until he just called the warehouse.

I was a bit skeptical but 2 days later (this morning) the full refund showed on my account.

So while I wasted a lot of time, I do not have anything negative to say about the customer service and I did get my money back.

"I ordered a Nikon D80 from this site. It's listed on their website plain and simple. When I just order the camera without one of their accessories package, somehow they are "out of stock" and they've cancelled my order.

It is 100% a scam - bait and switch. I thought scams like this had closed up long ago. Clearly, they haven't!

I think that "Best Price Camera" is also the same as "Sonic Camera." I tried to order the same camera from both stores and they were both out of stock.

Don't even bother with these guys. Clearly, if you engage with them, they'll extract their pound of flesh or they'll cancel your order.

"Bait and switch - was buying a camera they were advertising through Google ad words for a low rate. Two days after ordering I got a call to confirm the order and they said it was back ordered AFTER I told them I didn’t want to upgrade to one of their much more expensive packages. That it would ship out in the next "few weeks". I called again today (a week after ordering) and they told me my order had been cancelled and got really aggressive with me. A guy named Victor threatened me, was swearing and yelling at me.

All I wanted was the camera I bought online at the price I specified. I went onto the site and the product is still listed as available...

Wow - worst experience ever online.

"WORST service ever! They lied to me during sale process, never sent me my invoice or tracking info, never sent me the item on time, and it took me hours and multiple times of calling to finally get the order canceled. "

"This company is horrendous! I used Best Price Cameras on the recommendation of my best friend's sister, but will NEVER use them again. I experienced the same things as everyone else on here.

My initial order for a Nikon D40x with 18-55 lens was placed 1/7/08. I got their standard "upsell" phone call from Ralph and declined, so my order was placed on indefinite backorder. I called to cancel the order on 2/1 and got the hard sale. They would upgrade my order to the magnesium body, with English menu, etc. plus battery, Charger, tripod, software and much more as a special offer of $999 since my original order was on backorder for so long. I was hesitant, but Chad kept telling me what a great offer is was and that it wouldn't be there if I didn't take it right then. So I foolishly agreed.

As soon as I hung up, I had a bad feeling about it and started researching Best Price online (I know - I should have done that BEFORE placing the order!). I also called a couple of local retailers about the "magnesium body" and quickly realized I had been ripped off. When I found out how Best Price really operated, I called to cancel my order but couldn't get anyone to answer the phone. I left voicemails and emails stating that I was cancelling the order. My card was charged on 2/3 so I called them and said I left messages wanting to cancel the order. They told me they rushed the order out to me, as a courtesy, and it had already shipped, so they couldn't cancel the order. However, I received a shipping notice and it didn't ship until 2/6.

When I received the order, there was no lens for the camera, the manual was photocopied, the boxes were all beat up, and the camera looked used. I was obviously a "grey market" camera. After reading all the comments on here, I knew I would have a problem returning the order. When I called I immediately said up front that I would pay the restocking fee and wanted to return the camera (didn't feel that I should pay the restocking fee, but that's the price I was willing to pay to be done with these jerks). I received the hard sell from Jamie, offering to send the lens overnight at no charge if I keep the camera, offering to send another battery along with the lens, a free memory card, anything to get me to keep the camera. I politely refused repeatedly and they finally agreed to send me the paper work to return the camera. After three days of calling for the paperwork, I finally got my RA, after I signed a form agreeing to pay a 12.5% restocking fee.

I returned the camera on 2/14 via Fedex to ensure proof of delivery. I finally got my credit today, 3 weeks after they received the camera back and numerous phone calls about the status of the camera.

I advise everyone to avoid this company! They are rude, the customer service is horrible with wait times up to an hour, they will bait and switch, horribly upsell, and subject you to aggresive hard sells. And they WILL rip you off!

"Totally a rip-off enterprise. I too thought the price was "too good to be true," but ordered anyway. A guy named Chris contacted me (based on what I should have done last week, I now find all of them go by that name) and told me I also needed the battery (quote "high capacity") and charger (quote "quick charge"). He also said I needed their memory cards but, as my other camera used those same SD cards (and I had researched the D80 I ordered) I politely said no. He laughed as he said the battery and charger were all I really needed, then.

I got suspicious, but the price was still pretty good, so I placed the order.

Alas, my $449 order turned into over $800 with a $39 dollar Nikon battery costing over $150. And, the camera is gray-market, as I found out when I tried to register it with Nikon.

When I tried to contact the company, I got through up until I told them I was unhappy with my order and wanted to talk to a customer service rep about returning it for a refund. I had not even given them my name, but I spent over an hour on hold before the line cut off.

Total rip-off organization. Had I not been sooo durn greedy about the savings, I could have ordered from B&H for a lot less, had a North American camera, and been happy. For that matter, for the cost, I could have gone over to my local camera store, paid the tax, and been ahead.

NEVER BUY FROM THESE CONS!

"Ordered a camcorder package online, after calling the day before and confirming the item was in stock. Well today "Chris" called to "confirm my order" and he said the camcorder did not come with a lens? It would be more money for a lens! I stated this was obviously "bait and switch" and he said I was insulting his intellegence and he was canceling my order....other words exchanged about my manhood and his and he hung up. How do these places get away with such scams? I tried to order a camcorder several years ago from infinity photo and got the same response, now I find out they are one in the same...Wow!"

"Horrible Service and No effort. I placed an online order that I ended up having to call to get information on the shipment. First phone call I got a resposne that the order was back ordered and would be shipped in 2 wks, the second call told me it was 4 wks. My third phone call they told me the oder had been canceled due to lack of availability. Luckily they never charged my CC. But lack of updates, or any form of notification is unprofessional. Don't waist your time ordering from these guys!!!! "

"Unbelievable scam artists. Let me try to make this very long story short. Ordered a camera... Nikon D40x. It appeared to be available & ready to ship.
Then it suddenly was on "backorder" & I was told "NO ETA".
To this day it does not say "out of stock" on their website!!!!
There was the hard sell for the "American Model". What?! Where does it say this wasn't an American Model to begin with?!
Oh, and that's $300 more but in stock?! Wow.

Well 2 calls (to the same guy!) ("Eddie")& 2 unanswered emails & 6-7 weeks went by.

Here's the last email I sent them...to which they never responded of course.

"Sent: Mon 1/07/08 12:16 PM
To: ****@****

I am absolutely livid.
This customer service rep is the rudest most condescending phone rep I have ever spoke with.
The first time I called I chalked it up to he was having a bad day.
But, I got him again today! He was worse than last time.
I DID NOT cancel my order. He did not say he was cancelling my order. He hung up on me at the end. And all the wile I was nothing but nice & held my tongue.
He said to continue to watch for an update on the ETA.
He was sarcastic, rude, and had an overall bad attitude and tone.
Now I get this email one minute later?! And it ends with "Thank You for 'trying' to do business with us."

This was a Christmas present I ordered on 11/22 & then was told "No ETA" by email.
So then I called a week after that to hear they are out of stock.
At that time i was told 3-4 weeks.
It has been almost 7 weeks now & then this?!
If I don't get some customer satisfaction here I will go to the BBB, your state's attorney general & anywhere else I can to report this transaction.
I am also a writer & will write all I can about this poor experience.
This smells of bait & switch. Both calls he tried to sell me on the US model for hundreds more & I refused. (That they could have sent out immediately?!)
I have not been treated well, kindly, or professional since the start.
Please respond to this inquiry at your earliest convenience.
I want to speak with a supervisor by phone or email."

"Unbelievalbe!!! Placed order online for $949, five minutes later the "manager" called by phone. "I have a special offer. The lens that come with the camera are junk. You need to upgrade for $350." I said no. He pushed harder than I have ever heard in my life. I said no. He said "I am recording this call and I heard you say yes. I am entering your order for $1400." I said no, I ordered $949 and do not want anything else. He said I have entered the order because you said yes. I said I want to cancel. He said the cancelation fee is $150. What!!! How can you do that. "It states cancellation $150 on our website."

I hung up, called AMX, reported my card as compromised and cancelled it.

I have seen on TV reports about telemarketers who become very beligerant and extremely forceful, with threats. I never thought it could happen to me. Today it did. This person should be banned from any customer contact.

Unbelievable.

"WARNING!Here’s the description of my situation: On 02/09/2008 I contacted bestpricecameras.com to purchase the following camera: Nikon D300 and Lenses Nikon 18-200mm VR for $1298 as it was advertized on their website (see attached documents).

After 2 or 3 days their representative contacted me in order to persuade to buy more features (battery, memory card etc) for very expensive prices. After my refusal he threatened me that my order will not be processed for 2 or 3 months. By this time I had a strong feeling that they do not want to process my order.

After some time they contacted me again. I was told by a sales representative that he has a better offer for me and a newer camera that I could have with better features. He also said that I can try the camera he is offering and if I do not like it, I can return it with no questions asked. I was very hesitant to purchase not what I wanted originally but then again, the sales representative ensured me that returning the product is no problem if I am not satisfied and the order has already been processed.

I received the camera 2 days ago and found that the “new features” described by a sales representative were very basic and certainly did not cost as much money as I paid and the product that I wanted to buy originally was much better. In addition I noticed that I was charged additional money for unknown reason, because my invoice stated the sum $1488, but from my account was taken $1549.98. I didn’t order any special shipment and any insurance for it.

By this time I was completely confident that the company is using a “bait & switch” approach and false advertising to sell higher priced cameras & accessories.

I was hoping to exchange the camera I received for the one that I wanted to purchase originally, however, at this point I was completely frustrated with the way I was treated as a customer (I am going to attach the log file from my BlackBerry device for the number of calls I made only on Friday (Feb.23, 2008) morning which I can confirm with my cell phone statement). I made a numerious unsuccessful attempts to contact company's customer service department for the next two days.

My attempts were not only unsuccessful, but the representatives from bestpricecameras.com repeatedly told me “Goodbye” after asking what my order # is and finding out that I was unsatisfied with my purchase and would like to return. I have been placed on hold numerous times, had to stay on the line only to be disconnected eventually.

I sent 2 emails to their customer service department but they left them unanswered.

I have contacted the following organizations on this issue:

Office of the New York State Attorney General
Consumer Protection Bureau
Better Business Bureau – National Office
Better Business Bureau – New York Office
ShopCartUsa.com
Consumerist.com
BBB New York Office had already filed my complain.

"The order was overpriced by $121 in comparison with the price list on their WEB site. The salesperson explained that it covers the brokerage fees and the price is very good. But on the delivery I had to pay $ 73.85 brokerage fee to the importer.
The shipment was in addition to it short of a 5 hour lithium battery, for a price of $179.99 that supposed to include a second battery free of charge according to their add. During my phone call, the vendor promised to ship the missing item but no notification of the shipment was ever received even after my e-mail request for a confirmation of the shipment
