"I ordered a PC on December 12th and had it ship to my company on the 17th. It never had any speakers. I reported this on the January 5th, 2005 and was told that any order discrepancies must be reported within 3 days! If not, my loss!!!
I am a bit flabbergasted! Like a lot of people I used up some vacation time over the Christmas holiday so the package sat in the shipping room till I got back. Since I didn't open it in "their" time frame, it is my loss????
I have never had THAT happen before! Totally unexpected. Oh the customer service person reminded me that it makes that claim on their web page, yada yada yada.
I am certainly not going to do anymore business with a company that has a shady policy like this! This is a first - but it WILL be the last!"

My computer system arrived in a timely fashion, in pristine condition, in a well-protected shipping carton. The software and hardware was pre-configured to my specifications and was working right out of the box!
The buyer should be aware that ACOMPINC.COM has the right to substitute an equal or better value component. Buyers should carefully check the comonents in their computer system to verify that substituted components are in fact equal or better!
I ordered my computer system with a Sound Blaster Audigy LS sound card; this was substituted for an Audigy ES OEM version (model # SB0160) sound card.
According to Creative Labs, the Audigy ES has lesser capabilities than the Audigy LS. (I called Creative Labs on the phone to double-check that I was reading their spec sheets correctly.)
I made this fact known to ACOMPINC.COM - they refused to believe they substituted a lesser component. The ONLY recourse they offered me was
to return the sound card for a refund minus a @20.00 re-stocking fee.
BUYER BEWARE: If you order components from ACOMPINC.COM that are available through OEMs, you could end up with substituted OEM components having lesser performance.
If ACOMPINC.COM is willing to resolve this issue in an equally fair manner, I will immediately post the outcome - good or bad.
If I'm proven wrong about the Sound Blaster Audigy ES v.s. the Audigy L.S. then I will immediately post my sincere appology.

Americomp tech support sucks, their just terrible. No help whosoever. I ordered a $1300 total complete system in April, with DVD burners and etc. They never shipped the drivers or software disc's with the product. And I purchased retail box NOT OEM! They informed me that I need to call within 3 days of receiving the product. God forbid I called a week later. Americomp offered no help, no solution, no nothing.
Tech support is just terrible. You call them and it...... just rings and rings and rings (multiple times). They take your money and run. I wish I seen this site and read the reviews before I purchased a PC from them. I will never buy from Americomp again.
***BEWARE*** Americomp has multiple online stores under the address listed below. Maybe it's because of to much bad business, I don't know. But too me I think it's a little fishy. If I were you I'd stay away from purchasing from the following company's.
