"I ordered a $700 Canon camera from this place before looking in depth at these reviews. My big mistake.

They called me sometime after ordering this camera and did a crazy high pressure sales pitch claiming battery life was incredibly low and that I needed a Zeikos brand SD card which apparently has read and write speeds that don't even exist yet. Folding under the pressure I accepted these accessories. I then checked the prices of similar(and better) accessories online and within 2 minutes called back to cancel the accessories part of my order. I got the voicemail of the person I was just talking to and left a message canceling the order. I had a bad feeling about it and then, a while later recieved the camera, with the terrible Zeikos brand accessories. I immediately called them to get these terrible things sent back to them. He said that by the time he got the message the items were already shipped, but I hadn't been charged for the accessories until a week or so later. The guy I talked to was still trying to get me to keep the stuff by offering me partial amounts of my money back. At this point I just wanted to stick it to them anyway I could so I was dead-set on returning the items. I was called rediculous once but I stuck to my guns and was willing to eat the 30 dollars restocking fee just to get them back for sending and charging me for the accessories. They graciously offered to give me an RMA and I came straight here to leave my first review ever.

Interestingly enough they called me up less than an hour after leaving the review and asked me what would make me happy. They offered me back my restocking fee! Of course I would have to MODIFY MY REVIEW in order to get it back. I wanted the cash so I came back here and typed in what they wanted me to. I got my money back shortly after. So here I am to change it back and add more.

Don't shop here!
If you do, and you get screwed, LEAVE A REVIEW and possibly get your money back.

Now I am legitimately afraid that they will steal money with the information they have.

Don't bother to call me 42nd street photo unless you want me to scream at you.

"I am very impressed by the quick service I received from 42nd Street Photo. I recently bought a Canon EOS Rebel T2i from the store and this was my first purchase. Even though I had selected the 7-10 days shipping option, my camera was delivered well before that. The packaging was perfect, and included all manuals and warranty cards. I was even sent a free cleaning kit with the camera, which was a pleasant surprise. All in all, it was a good experience and I look forward to more such experiences from the store."

"I purchased the Canon Vixia HF-S200 through 42nd St Photo during Thanksgiving weekend. The site said it would take 3-4 days for the order to process, and that was fine. I then got a call from the store to double check my shipping and try to sell me more items (battery, case, filters, etc). I found all these items at other places, cheaper than they offered (and I got them in the mail before my camera even shipped). Again, this didn't bother me much. But when the employee read my information back to me for shipping, he had multiple elements of my shipping address incorrect and seemed annoyed that I was correcting him. This was on Dec 1st and they said that it would be sent "right away." I waited for a tracking number from UPS. I waited three days and called on Dec. 3 to check (their website said it was shipped on the 1st.). I was sternly spoken to by an employee that said there was nothing he could do until I got the tracking email from UPS. I then waited 3 more days until Dec 6th and called again since I STILL had not received my tracking email. This time I talked to an employee was very nice and even sounded like he was looking at the tracking on his computer saying it will arrive on "Thursday, no later than Friday." He also said that I would get the UPS email at "9PM" that night. I then got an email from the USPS (not UPS and the email came in the afternoon) and a tracking number. They had only sent the camera that day of the 6th and thankfully sent it 2-day shipping. Again, I am not super angry at 42nd street since I got the product at a great price and I wasn't foolish enough to order too close to my deadline. But, I do not appreciate being lied to multiple times. Since I work in the music industry, I deal with that enough everyday. I would have a hard time purchasing again from them or recommending them to others just for these reasons. Oh...and even after all of this, they STILL had parts of my address wrong. Thankfully I have had the same USPS delivery guy for over 5 years and he knew to bring the package to me."
