"We had problems with our computer from the beginning, although it seems that xVx didn't maintain records on all of our communication. They did respond to each of our requests, working with us over the phone, sending us to links to download testing programs, etc. Initially we reformatted the computer, twice. We subsequently replaced a memory card. Finally we sent the computer to them, and it seems that they fixed it. All this took about 5 months. They generously gave us an upgraded processor with the final fix. I would recommend them if you have a lot of time to commit to problem solving, just in case there is a problem. It would have been much faster if they had just asked us to send the computer back in the first place."

"I initially ordered from XvX because they had the best price online for the Compal laptops. The unit I was after had been discontinued and XvX was the only company able to get me a unit. Or so they said. But unfortunately, the "last unit" never came and I was very disappointed. They apologized and offered to refund me or let me have the replacement model at no extra charge if I was willing to wait a few months. The ETA on this new unit was continuously postponed, I was told, by the manufacturer. As the months went by, I grew a little impatient but XvX added little bonuses here and there to keep me happy and...patient. When the unit finally came in, I was given a shipping date but that was delayed too after their QC team found the video card to be defective. I was glad that they caught that before shipping it to me, but frustrated by the seemingly neverending delays. I was again offered a free upgrade on the system to make up for the inconvenience. When the unit was finally ready to ship I asked that a cable be sent with it. After 5 months had elapsed since my original order, i finally received a beautiful laptop! It seemed like a dream machine! And it was....until I realized that whoever did the assembly forgot to connect a cable inside - the top buttons and LEDs were not working. I also realized that the requested cable was not in the box. I called Edgar-Joel and he offered an apology and shipped me a cable overnight. It was important for me to receive the length requested but it wasnt. However, it was a mistake made of goodwill - XvX wanted to surpass my expectations so they sent me a top line longer cable. I didnt need all that extra cable, which just creates clutter, but I recognize their effort to go beyond customer expectations. As for the unconnected cable inside, I felt uneasy about doing this. Edgar offered to guide me over the phone, and even had a technician send pictures of the procedure. This was appreciated because although i didnt feel at ease in doing this, I didnt want to go thru the hassle of shipping it back and waiting again...besides, I learned something by doing it myself!

All in all, I would say that XvX are a bit "distracted" (based on MY experience) but that they do take responsibility for their mistake, recognize that the customer is #1, and definitely make up for their errors. I am glad I was patient, and am very satisfied with all the free upgrades I was given. Thank you Edgar-Joel and XvX.

"Ok, I have bought many computers in my years, I have worked with very
big companies and small ones, and I have to say that xVx really blew
my mind. The service I got from this company is outstanding, I cant
believe how they treat their customers, any problem you might have as
little at it is, they will help you out in anyway they can so in the
end you would be happy as a customer, you cant really say that about
many companies these days. My xVx Monstruo laptop is a very nice fast
machine. Works perfect, had several support questions and was happy
that they could speak English over at their support dept.; I have
called other large companies for support and never understood them as
they were in a different country... Anyways, if you are reading this
right now, I would imagine you are doing the same thing I did before I
purchased my system (Research)...I was doing my research and I
concluded that xVx was the way to go for my high end needs.. Best
prices with I have to say, BEST SERVICE than any other computer
company around. I own a medium size company and needed high end
laptops, I needed to purchase a few dozens, xVx won my business from
the start...I would continue buying more systems in the next months as
we still need to replace several more of our antique
computers.....Thanks xVx for your hard work in helping me and my
company get the best of the best!!!!

"I bought the Monstreuo-m A780 primarily for extreme gaming, working with photography, graphics and video editing. I have not been disappointed at all. I've played FEAR, OBLIVION, Tomb Raider Legend, and others with max anti-aliasing and had no problems whatsoever. The service I received was excellent and great communication throughout the ordering process. Dual nVidia go-7950 GTX in SLI mode perform OUTSTANDING!!! Raid-0 dual 7200rpm 100G drives provide the high performance I needed.
I searched every laptop supplier for about a month befored buying from xVx. Even Alienware did not have a laptop with this performance and same configuration. This laptop ROCKS! This is the ultimate multi-media laptop. The 20" 1680 x 1050 monitor provides exceptional clarity, color, contrast and brightness. No ghosts even at high frame rates and fast action. The only drawback is the glare from the screen when there is bright light like a window behind me. I'll upgrade to a better monitor if someone ever makes a better anti-glare 20". The detail this monitor provides is incredible and NO DEAD PIXELS!!! I've not been able to find a better laptop monitor at any price. xVx even provided me with a backpack for this 20" bad boy at no extra charge. I couldn't find the backpack anywhere to fit a 20" laptop. Don't buy a computer until you check out xVx.
Thanks xVx!!!!!!!!!!! No one else even comes close!!!

"I have received my laptop today. I thank all the sales staff so very much for their courtesy, professionalism and business from the bottom of my heart. I gave the laptop a test run; there are no problems that I can see of for the moment. No dead pixels, no scratches, no loose parts etc. It is running as smooth as a summer breeze.

It was a pleasure to do business with xVx. I am recommending this company to all my colleagues and friends with utmost contempt.

"I had a high tech computer in mind but couldn't find it or build it with one of the big brand companies for under $3500. I searched the Internet and found xVx. They use high quality components and have customized building ability. Not being an IT person but having some computer knowledge, I built my dream laptop for around $2000. The staff kept me posted on the process until I received it. It is a beautiful and powerful machine and superior in many ways to the laptop I origianlly had in mind! It is sleek--- from the outside design and components to all the wireless goodies inside---and nothing sticks out on the sides or top. And---my IT guy is impressed! When he contacted them later to get additional detailed info, again the staff was professional and helpful. Keep up the good work xVx! I will recommend your company to others."

"I had been searching for the compal hel80 wsxga+ since they had been discontinued. I found xvx and checked all their ratings and I thought they would be reliable to buy from. Compal has been late on their shipments for a month, so I don't blame xvx. During the wait period after two weeks, they upgraded my shipping to overnight. After a month of waiting, I recieved a phone call that I could not get the wsxga+. They said I could either cancel my order or get a wxga screen with money back. I opted to wxga and added another gig of ram. I got it 2 days later since they called wed night, so i got it firday. I was pretty happy when I opened it up, but then I found a box with a wireless card. I called xvx up and asked them about it. I couldn't really understand him. (iono why i guess i wasnt paying attention) I just opted to do it myself. But when I turned on the laptop, I already had a wireless card and they just sent me an extra for no reason. O_o I emailed them about it but they didnt reply. Overall i thought they were a very good reseller and I am happy to do service with them.

(btw their specs of the laptop arent correct sometimes :P)

"After many delays and waiting nearly a month I received my xVx monstruo-m s400. After spending many hours setting up where it will be located and installing windows updates and setting up everything the way i wished i began installing programs of my own. To my dismay i discovered they sent me not the 100 gb 7200rpm hard-drive i ordered, rather the employee putting it together accidentally installed the wrong hard drive. After calling xVx customer service I was promised that i would receive the hard drive i ordered in two days. Because i called after hours. They were quick to fix the problem and kept me informed throughout order. But with so many delays and the accidental hard drive mix up i will have to think twice about who i order from next time in need a computer. I will keep updates on how the new hardrive is when it arrives.

*In Reply*
I know the circumstances behind the delays but it dose not make it that there was no delay. I have had no problem with your customer service, in fact they have been more than friendly, helpful and willing to assist me with my problems. I have just had to deal with them to often about various issues for my comfort. The laptop works great so far I just need the hard drive so i can install all my other applications.

"Just received my Laptop from XVX, and put it through it's paces last nite. I have to say that this is probably the best notebook i've owned to date. xVx kept me well informed during the building/ordering process, and the staff were a pleasure to work with. The only Snafu during the whole process was that Fed Ex lost the computer during shipment. xVx promptly began dialog with them and kept me informed during the whole process. So far, my experiences with them put them at the top of the list for computers. I will be buying from them again."

"I received the laptop within the time specified when ordered. I ordered the system without an operating system. I installed Vista x86 and then switched to Vista x64, and received fantastic support from the personnel at xvxonline, both on the phone and online. Once it happened that I called them, but it went into voicemail and I hung up without leaving a message. To my surprise a person from xvxnline returned my call!! That was amazing. So far their support has been excellent and the response time couldn't be better. It's almost a month and I'm extremely happy with the support and the hardware!"

"Xvx online is great. The sales rep that helped me (john), was awsome in getting me a great deal. He matched the other companies that i was looking at and gave me a little extra. The main thing i like is the customer service. I just emailed john directly and he responded immidiately. The tech support so far was good. i called for a driver update. The person who helped me uploaded the driver to their site and sent me the link. the Laptop i got (monstruo-m s400)is great. no dead pixels and everything worked great. the warrenty is aswsome. lets me upgrade at cost price.. im happy with my purchase...."

"I ordered a Monstruo-m S400 on Feb. 13, 2007. They have an automatic system which sends updates relatively frequently as your order is processed, and your system built/tested.

They initially estimated a ship date of Feb 22. During the course of building/testing the system, the estimated ship date slipped to Feb 23, then to Feb 24 (a Saturday) with a comment that the original hard drive had a defect, and the system needed to be tested for another 24 hours.

On Feb 26th (Monday) I received an email, including a tracking number, saying that the laptop had been shipped. To compensate for the delays, they voluntarily upgraded shipping to 3 day.

I received the laptop March 1st (Thursday), and immediately noticed a dead pixel in the upper left hand corner. I had payed extra for a zero-dead pixel policy, so I was extremely disappointed. I contacted xvx by email, and received a reply that night saying they would issue an RMA#, and provide instructions for returning the system, the following day.

The following day I received an email providing a list of things I could try to do to correct the dead pixel, and avoid having to ship the system back. One of these involved leaving a particular movie running overnight, exercising the dead pixel. None of the provided methods worked.

Since I left the movie running over night, it was Saturday (Mar 3) when I reported back that none of the methods had worked. Since it seemed unlikely that I would be able to return the laptop before Monday, I decided to test out various other parts of the system.

I tested all of the USB ports, and they seemed to work. I tried the driver audio test program, and the speakers sounded quieter than I felt they should, even at max volume; further, at max volume, they seemed to have a lot of static. I couldn't get either the built-in microphone, or an external microphone to work at a reasonable volume level. I sent an email reporting these issues on Saturday.

I received a reply on Sunday saying that they would be contacting me Monday, and that the problems with the speakers and microphone might be due to misconfiguration.

On Monday (Mar 5) I received an email with an RMA number, and an indication that they would have FedEx pick up the laptop from my home. They indicated that they would be replacing the screen, and that they would correct the configuration for the speakers and the microphone. They said it might take them up to five days from the time they received the system to make these changes. The shipping they provided was two-day.

FedEx received shipping information for the package early Mar 6th, and delivered the laptop to xvx early mar 8th. I received an RMA update email Mar 13th indicating that they are waiting on a shipment of screens, either this week, or next. Once they receive the screens they say they are going to ship another brand new notebook to me.

So, at this point, it's been a month since I placed my order, and I had the use of a defective laptop for about three days of that time. To say I'm disappointed right now would be an understatement.

During the little time that I did have the notebook, it struck me as well designed. The optical bay is on the left, air vents are in the back. Construction felt sturdy, I liked the keyboard layout, and the appearance of the device (although some kind of xvx logo on the back of the monitor, instead of generic text, would be a nice touch.)

UPDATE: xvx has contacted me and offered to overnight a WUXGA laptop to me, so that I could have my machine sooner. I've declined the WUXGA upgrade (I intend to use the machine for gaming, want to run at native resolution, and would rather have the higher frame rates of 1680x1050), but they will still be overnighting the replacement machine to me when it gets in.

UPDATE: I received the replacement laptop yesterday (Mar 21), and it had a dead pixel located even more prominently than the last one. I contacted customer support, and they were unwilling to "preship" a replacement and then have me ship the defective product back, or cross-ship. Still, I remain hopeful. They say they're going to have the laptop picked up today, and have the replacement pre-QAd so they can ship it the day they receive the defective product.

Hopefully the third time's the charm.

UPDATE: I received my third laptop from xvx last night, and there were no dead pixels. It was shipped two-days both ways (I guess this is their standard warranty shipping method.) They shipped the replacement the day that they received the defective unit.

On the whole, my experience with xvx's customer service has been good. They upgraded shipping twice, and offered a monitor upgrade after I posted my initial comments here. Replies to emails were always fast and courteous. The only problem I've had with the company (as opposed to the laptop, which they only resell) is that when my laptop was initially defective they had no replacements in stock, so there was a prolonged delay.

"While researching a laptop purchase decision, initially between the Alienware M5790 and the Dell XPS M1710, I stumbled across the specs of the Clevo M570U. Seemingly an impressive machine for the money, I decided to investigate resellers. After careful evaluation of pricing and configuration, xVx stood out among the crowd as having the lowest price of any systems builder that also offered the extended 3 year warranty as well as 3 year accidental damage protection plans. Few companies even offer comprehensive accidental damage protection (for example, Alienware does not) but being a single parent of a feisty and inquisitive little girl, it quickly became a make or break feature for me.

Hesitant about spending 3000 dollars with a company I had never heard of before, I was leaning towards the Dell. But my curiosity led me to utilize the online chat available through the xVx website. The representative (Angelo) was friendly, informative, and completely understanding of my hesitation. He went to great lengths to illustrate xVx’s legitimacy and staying power and never seemed to get flustered by my rapid fire questions. I can credit my purchase decision to his handholding without a doubt. They were very cooperative with the detail of my purchase (as it was technically bought through my company) and worked with me on getting the unadvertised backpack option and spare ac adapter added to my order.

On February 23rd I ordered an xVx Monstruo-M S400.

Post-sale and pre-delivery, I had no less than 10 separate chat sessions with a good portion of their staff. They answered my questions as best as they could, and despite some misunderstanding over the compatibility with the included TV-Tuner, where never less than 100% helpful and seemed almost as eager as I was for me to take delivery of the system.

When shipping was delayed by 2 days because of quality control requirements (it’s longer if you don’t order an operating system), they upgraded my shipping for free in an effort to get me the laptop in 2 weeks.

The machine arrived (early!) in excellent packing (through from what I understand, pretty standard for Clevo units) and I was able to get the operating system and driver software installed without a hitch. When I had some questions regarding which specific driver was appropriate, a quick chat with an online representative provided enough information to complete my install. He was as surprised as I was that the machine had arrived so soon (Friday March 9th) because FedEX estimated delivery was the following Monday. He informed me that they usually call the customer on delivery day to insure there were no problems and asked if I would like someone to call me. I mentioned that the backpack and spare AC adapter wasn't included. He was appropriately apologetic that the backpack's status had not been communicated to me (it was out of stock) and offered to next-day the spare adapter to me at no extra charge. Since they threw in the standard messenger bag and I did have an AC adapter with the machine, I told them to hold the adapter until the backpack was available, and to ship them together. Mistakes are absolutely acceptable to me so long as responsibility is assumed and resolution is pursued. I told him not to bother someone with calling me because the machine was perfect and he had answered the only questions I had. Within 2 weeks to the hour of my order, I had a functioning and installed xVx Monstruo-M S400 on my desk.

I can’t speak highly enough about their customer oriented business practice as I’ve experienced it. I would certainly recommend xVx to friends and family and when it comes time for me to make another computer purchase, xVx will be one of the first places I look.

[ Edited for word choice, and because I had neglected to mention the reason for the lack of a customer satisfaction call (covered in chat), which I feel is a nice human touch to what can be a fairly humanless process these days ]

"After some research, I decided on the Clevo m570u. I found about 20 companies who rebranded this machine and sold it under their name(xVx calls it the monstruo S400.) I narrowed my search down to 3 resellers based on price, resellerratings and recommendations on notebookforums & notebook review. (On the forums xVx had the least information, which was a little scary, but that's deceptive.) I called and left messages with all 3 on a Sunday. 1 never called me back, 1 called me back but didn't seem willing to help and the third person was Edgar from xVx. He called back within a few hours and he was helpful. He answered questions about special orders and even some that went beyond the range of what was related to this notebook specifically. xVx also had the lowest price to start, without having to worry about any price matching/negotiating.

I ordered the notebook online on Monday Feb 5, which was an easy process. I had added a few minor special requests on my order, all of which were addressed and done exactly as I requested. My credit card company called me within 24 hours to verify the purchase, so I know they started processing right away. Every few days I received an email letting me know where my notebook was in the process. Initially the computer had an expected ship date of February 14. On February 14th, I kept jumping on the online chat all day and asking various questions. I received varying levels of service through the online chat. None of the chat personnel was rude or terribly bad, but some may not have had enough time/information for my overactive mind. My best chat experience was with Meti, who actually walked over to where they were running quality control to find out the status for me. My computer did not ship on the 14th because the hard drive did not pass quality control and they needed to replace it and re-do the quality control. On the 15th my computer wasn't ready when FedEx came, so as I found out when I received it, Jean C.(who shipped it,) upgraded my optical drive free of charge for the delay. I called on the 17th concerned because I didn't have a tracking number yet, and spoke to Alex. Alex was wonderful! Alex researched and found out what happened with the shipping of my computer. Although my machine had already gone out to FedEx, his manager Alba, says she drove over to FedEx that day to have it upgraded to Overnight shipping, free of charge to me. Throughout this I received several calls and emails with status updates and more information from both Alex and Alba. I received my machine on the morning of Thursday, Feb 20th via the overnight shipping. This was exactly when I was expecting to get it originally with the 14th ship date and ground shipping. The day my computer arrived I received a follow up call from Alex to make sure everything was ok and also to offer assistance if I needed any help with drivers or anything,(since I ordered it without an OS.)

I haven't spent too much time with my computer yet, to give a full comment on it yet. At first glance, the only thing about it that xVx might have done better is that there is one little piece of the plastic casing in the back which sticks out, apparently because someone put the case together and didn't realize it wasn't lined up exactly. This can easily be fixed.

Overall, I would rate the phone customer service A+ and the online chat about a B/B- and give my overall ordering experience an A/A+. Based on my experience to this point, I would definitely order from them again, and recommend them to a friend, (with the only caveat being that if you have a very specific question call, rather than trying to ask it through the chat option.) I don't think you can go wrong by ordering from xVx, they are very customer-orineted and really want to make you happy with your purchase.

****Update****
It has been nearly 1 year since my purchase; I can no longer recommend xVx. I have the 3 year warranty and 3 year accidental damage protection. I have needed an RMA 2x, each time has been a hassle. On the first occasion, I simply needed them to send me a new optical drive. They sent me the new drive, but I had to fight with them just to get them to send me the label to send the broken one back to them.
This second time has been much worse. I originally contacted xVx on 12/8, they never responded to my voicemail; after my email on 12/12, they set up the RMA. I fought with them for a month just to send me a packing slip so I could return it to them. Finally on 1/3, I received the FedEx slip to mail it out to them. I mailed it out on 1/7 and it was supposed to be returned to me within 7 days from their receipt of the package. I finally received the laptop back today – 2/1. And it's not fixed!!! The packing slip says they replaced the motherboard, but it has not been replaced and the problem is no better then when I mailed it out. The reason I cannot recommend them is because it's too much work any time you need anything from them and in my opinion they are not trustworthy.

Additionally, sometime shortly after my 12/8 call to them, their phone service was disconnected. You cannot call xVx; they never have the online chat option available anymore, so that leaves the only method for contacting them as email. I am going to email one more time and give them ANOTHER chance to get this right.

I am tired of xVx's excuses and the blaming FedEx for xVx's issues. I'm tired of the hassle and headache of trying to work with them. I'm tired of having to be all over them in order to get any kind of response from them. If I could do it again, I would take my $3000 and purchased my laptop elsewhere. The laptop is mostly solid; xVx's service is anything but.
