"I filed my claim back in April. Called several times and asked if anything additional was needed and was told someone is working on my claim. In June they email me asking for additional Information. It is now mid July and I still have not heard anything. Worst experience ever and will not use again. "

Completely non responsive

"Bought insurance before covid was a thing. Were completely unwilling to have a claims adjuster talk to me directly about a refund. Anytime I submitted documentation they told me I’d have to wait another 8 weeks for a reply. Never got a final notice about disposition of my claim filed in March!! This was for a cancel for any reason policy— what a joke! Do not buy from this company. "

Refund is taking way longer than promised

"I purchased my trip insurance with a “cancel for any reason” clause. It’s been over 12 weeks since I filed. Still no refund. I have called several times and they still haven’t even reviewed my claim. "

Misleading policy, 13 weeks to respond to my claim

"I understand that Covid caused some delays but 13 weeks to respond to a claim is pretty bad. On top of that, they didn’t even process my claim, they simply said that my claim is invalid because of the dates I selected for the policy when I initially purchased it. Their policy is extremely misleading and the fact that they would even allow you to purchase a policy if the dates don’t fit in a particular window (which was almost impossible to understand from their policy description) is fraud. Why allow a customer to purchase an invalid policy? That would be like selling car insurance and saying in the fine print you don’t cover Toyotas from the year 2004, and then selling someone a policy for a 2004 Toyota. I will be taking them to small claims court."

Super slow processing of my claim

"It's been more than 5 months since I submitted my claim and each reply from the support person take 3 months and there will be only one reply during that period even though you have provided all the required info in minutes of receiving this email. At this rate I assume my claim processing would take 1-2 years."

This insurance was of no value when I needed it.

"I purchased Travelex Insurance for a flight to Greece. My flights were cancelled by the airlines. The Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance was the underwriter just wrote to me telling me they would not honor my insurance per their fine print. The travel insurance for flights does not cover cancellations by airlines and a host of other normal reasons for trip interruption. I would have understood if the flight was interrupted for any reason because of a choice I made such as missing the flight or changing my mind. My flights were cancelled by the airline with no alternative options due to Covid-19. The insurance company took months to process my claim only to deliver a form letter rejection. The first thing listed on my Confirmation of coverage is 100% reimbursement for trip cancellation. However, when it is time to pay out, trips cancelled by myself, the airline or cancelled due to government mandate are suddenly not covered."

Communication

"They were great and timely considering the pandemic going on, but I still have not received my claim money (+10 days after receiving the email of the money I would be getting back) and there was nothing saying when they are going to be distributing it. It would be nice if they had more details or a FAQ section about how to file claims, or acknowledging that they received the claim. I am worried they sent my money to the wrong person, my claim said it was sending through paypal but not even a confirmation of my email to which it should be sent. I will be calling later today to find out but I would have liked if they said something along the lines of, will receive payment within a certain amount of days. Customer service has been good though."

"Unfortunately, we had to cancel our trip because of the corona virus. We had a cancel for any reason policy and the insurance company was super easy to work with and once we provide the required documentation they paid us quickly. An excellent experience and I would use them again in a heartbeat."
