Horrible Customer Service

"Placed an order six days ago, which is still listed as "processing" on their website, even though it states product will be shipped in two to three business days. The worst part is no one answers the phone. You continued to get a pre-recorded message that states if and only if you can get an operator on the phone, that will not be able to help with existing orders and to please refer to the website to see an estimate as to how long it takes to ship, which makes me think this is a continuous problem with this company. I am a business owner and have started construction expecting these swings to have been shipped according to what their website states. I have also emailed them numerous times with no response. I am starting to wonder if this is even a legit business. "

Terrible

"I ordered this product a few days ago. It arrived damaged. I reported the damage immediately via "a non user friendly" webpage. I received a voicemail the following morning from an representative that talked so fast that I could not understand anything he left on my voicemail. Since this is a gift and I need a replacement promptly, I called porch swing and discovered you can NOT TALK with a live representative about your order!!! All correspondence has to be online and this feature would not work for me!?!?! Really?!?!? This was my first and last order with The Porch Swing. Com.

Frustrated with Customer Service and Return

"I ordered 2 18"x20" pillows and when they arrived they were 18"x12". I immediately figured it was an error on the website since they weren't showing any 18"x12" pillows on their website. I emailed them and they wanted me to exchange them. I said if they had the 18"x20" pillows I would exchange them but otherwise I wanted a full refund for the pillows and for the return shipping cost. After several back and forth emails, they received the return and refunded the cost of the pillows. They still have not refunded me the return shipping cost and their policy said they would because it is there fault. I have send 3-4 emails a week asking for my refund and they no longer even respond to my emails."

"After placing my order I immediately noticed I had inversed by billing and shipping information. I sent an email and received a reply in 5 minutes. The swing arrived to the correct address and I am very pleased. This was my first experience ordering with your company and would shop with you again."

I don't know how it could have been worse.

"Purchased a toddler swing for grandson's 1st birthday from The Porch Swing Company.
Website gave measurements for the seat but described ropes as "tree length".
Before checkout I was offered a "coordinating product" - brackets to attach the swing. Purchased those as well.
When swing arrived it was immediately apparent that the ropes were far too short to be suitable, or even safe. They extended a mere 36 inches over the top of the seat - 18 inches maybe over a childs head.
The "coordinating product" brackets were not compatible at all with the swing. On the website they buyer doesn't see the end of the ropes - probably so you won't see how short they are. When we unpacked the swing the metal loops attached to the ends of the ropes are closed. The brackets are also closed metal rings. YOU CANNOT ATTACH THE SWING TO THE BRACKETS !!!
That is when I found that you cannot get through on their customer service phone. A recording directs you to the website and they will not talk to you under any circumstances. In order to return the product we first had to pay for the return shipping ourselves. The Porch Swing Co will charge a 20% restocking fee, plus deduct for what had been free shipping of the product.
And get this ... THEY WILL NOT POST A NEGATIVE REVIEW ON THEIR WEBSITE. I tried twice. No cursing, nothing demeaning, just the facts. It will not appear. Avoid this company.

drill holes misaligned, no instructions, hardware pokes out and injures me

"Bad, bad, bad.
The assembly instructions are completely inadequate.
Missing bolts and nuts.
Holes not countersunk, so bolts stick out and injure people.
Holes misaligned so parts don't fit together.
Shipped several weeks late.
Threaded screws need a square-type driver, not even my contractor friend has a set of those.
Screws they installed at the factory are not fully screwed in so there is one right smack in the middle of the front of the seat that causes injury.
One board was split at delivery.
I will have to pay a handyman for several hours work just to put it together, and who knows if it will even be sturdy enough for use.
I will never, ever purchase anything from these folks in the future.
You know they have quality control issues since they have a dedicated web page for returns - and they you jump through so many hoops, most people, like me, won't even bother trying to return the product.

Spent a lot of money on a swing - didn't last a month!

"Last summer I purchased a stand alone swing for $1489.99. It shipped late, and when it came we had to assemble it ourselves. It was very difficult to do and took us all day to get it together. I was a bit concerned because it did seem like it wasn't too sturdy and creaked a bit when we sat on it. We didn't use it over the winter, and the first time we sat on it this summer, the frame completely cracked on both sides. It was not reparable at all and now all we have left is the swing and chains. I am so disappointed in my purchase. Our previous swing was from Walmart and lasted five years! This is such a waste of money...don't buy anything from them."

Awful Experience with these people

"I just wish I would have read these reviews before I bought a porch swing from these folks. The experience has been terrible. I wish I could give them zero stars! Spent $343 on a 4 foot porch swing with them. Spent an extra $100 to have it in "classic black" and when I received it 5 weeks later, it had nearly no color to it at all. Nothing like the "black" they represent on their web site. I emailed them about it and they basically punted to the "craftsman" who made and stained the swing. He said he didn't control the color they have on their web site but suggested I get back in touch with them and return it suggesting there would be no charge to do so. I've sent several emails to these folks about returning the swing and they won't even do me the courtesy of a reply. Very unhappy with them. Once they get your money, they will be finished with you. Buyer beware."

Terrible company!

"Bought a porch glider from them last month. Arrived with a damaged back support and missing parts. When I emailed them they basically said not their problem and to contact the glider manufacturer, which I did. Received a new back support which was the wrong color. Again the porchswingcompany.com refused to help and again I contacted the manufacturer. Got another new back support, right color this time but a different design. Tried to assemble with this part and found other parts were not correct size and still can't assemble it. Have called and emailed the porchswingcompany.com several times and NO RESPONSE! Now I'm outside of their 30-day return period so who knows if they'll even take it back. Plus their policy says they will charge shipping and a 20% restocking fee to return a product I can't even put together. Don't know what to do with my pile of scrap lumber now. I wrote a review on their website and of course they didn't post it. Should have known something was amiss when all their reviews on their site were 5 stars. I will never order anything from them again and now make it my mission to warn everyone else."

Communication **** - Arrives Unassembled

"The swing is quality, but they charge your CC when you place the order, and don't plan to communicate to you again till they ship it (3 weeks later). When you call their phone number tells you they only communicate by email (this is when you press the "talk to a person option) , and their emails are canned and they don't answer questions (basically eff you - we will talk to you when we feel like it). They don't tell you it is unassembled, the one swing arm required use of a vice grip to bring the part in line (so basic tools are not the only tools you need).

Oh yeah - read the fine print on days till delivery (if you can find it) --- they only count M-F.
