The Porch Swing Company Does Not Stand Behind Their Product

"I ordered a swing for my husbands birthday. Customer service was very friendly and helpful as I paid for my purchase. 8 weeks later when I received the swing I tried repeatedly to talk to someone from the company with no success. They do not return voice or email. The swing is very poorly made. The hardware is grossly inadequate, and the engineering dangerous. It has come close to injuring family members. When getting out of the swing it tips forward, dumping you out then hits you in the back. The wood is so thin and dry it already shows signs of weakening. My husband bought $60 worth of hardware and completely re-hung and reinforced the swing. I wrote a review on their website and it was never published. In fact, the swing I purchased has NO reviews, I’m guessing because there aren’t any favorable ones to publish. Bottom line, once I paid for my purchase, in good faith, the company washed their hands of me as a customer and the poor product they peddle. If I could do all over again, I would GO IN PERSON, TALK TO A REAL PERSON sit on the swing then buy. This online company has a great website and that’s what they do, they sell a great 2d picture."

Ordered a Porch Swing

"I received my swing on a Friday. Opened it up and there was one damaged slat. I took pictures and sent an e-mail on Saturday. On Sunday, I received an e-mail saying they would let their builders know on Monday. I received a follow up e-mail on Monday. On Tuesday, I received the new piece to replace the damaged one.
They were very responsive when I contacted them and I would definitely consider ordering from them again.
I was very pleased with the hardware that came with the swing. We ordered the heavy chain and comfort springs. We are very happy with everything.

Totally no customer service

"bought a swing, it came with ropes too short to use. Bought additional hardware cha-ching! Over $100 and it came without instructions and the chains did not include hardware to attached to the swing --made a trip to Lowes to get what was needed. Couldn't use double bolt hangers, as my porch ceiling does not have studs 3" apart, so one hole would not be enough to hold.Barn-Shed-Play Black Porch Swing Hangers × 1 SKU : BSP-046- $35. So these hangers would not work, unless you mount a seperate 2x4 on the ceiling. No way to call!! only email and the CHAT option never has worked and probably never will. Just order from a reputable company like Houzz. Forget these jerks! On top of that, my previous order included a swing cushion. Placed that order mid-April and still don't have the cushion. Rip-off Jerks!"

The biggest ripoff

"My niece ordered a pergola and daybed swing costing over $4,000 including the mattress. When it arrived it was not red cedar as advertised, it was white wood. The predrilled holes did not line up. The support beams were a joke. They even sent the wrong boards. Their solution was to send another board and $100.00. Their crap is made by A&L Furniture and they did a lousy job. Boards with knot holes causing splits wrong size boards etc. It took 6 trips to the hardware store for bracing screws etc. so the total cost was closer to $5000.00. The company tried to say it was northern cedar but I say a carpenter who assembled this mess knows cedar from white wood. Read your reviews people and if you value your money and your safety do NOT buy from these people. They try to pass the buck back and blame the manufacturer well that's fine but don't sell their junk. Get some quality control. At least get all the RIGHT parts in the box."

Dishonest company that sends you the wrong items and don't respond when you contact them about it!! BEWARE!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

"I purchased 2 items from ThePorchSwingCompany, they sent me only one item and it was the WRONG item in a very poorly packaged plastic bag. When I reached out to them to resolve this, I received an email stating that they would help me, this was April 21, 2020 (today is May 7, 2020) and still no contact with them whatsoever, after numerous attempts to reach out to them by email and text I decided to open a case with PayPal and send the wrong item back, the merchant had the nerve to not explain themselves, and not send me a return label, they only sent PayPal the tracking number and due to COVID-19 situation PayPal only functions automatically, which means the solve cases by the information they receive and don't look into the actual case of what went wrong. If you're looking to buy a porch swing or accessories, for your own sake look elsewhere or if you welcome scammers and headache buy from this untrustworthy company..."

It is literally impossible to call for help

"The chair is a nice quality, the cushion is flimsy.
Shipping was prompt, but returns are needlessly expensive and challenging.
It's also impossible to call anyone; only email.
TL;DR furniture is good quality, cushions aren't. Customer service is okay

Pitiful

"Ordered and paid a premium for a custom made cushion with a different colored piping. Received 5 weeks later all in the same color. When I explained that I had waited a long time for the cushion and paid for it to be made custom, they only offered to deduct the amount they charged for the different colored piping in the first place. Now, in return for my long wait and premium price, I have to accept a substandard cushion with a $20 refund (I paid $229 for it) or go through the trouble of shipping it back and waiting 5 more weeks. These people are pitiful.

Moreover, there is no way to speak to someone in person. All customer service problems are handled through email. Pitiful.

Expected more from the picture on website

"The delivery was within the timeframe we were told, but mostly a disappointment from there on. Paid over $800 for the 6’ glider with stain and “better hardware.” Does not look anything as posted on the website. Stain is lackluster at best. Quality is of something half the price. Just really upset about the whole experience with buying from this company. I don’t normally write reviews because I do my research and should have been a red flag when there are no reviews on their website. I had to search the internet to find this. I would return but it will cost me 20% restocking fees as well as postage for them to send it to me and send it back. Just unfortunate that I didn’t do what I knew I should have in researching this company. "

Great swing and great quality

"Purchased this swing to replace an old worn out one. I read the good and the bad reviews prior to ordering, but felt good about what I saw on the website. The swing arrived undamaged 4 days after I ordered it. The swing had easy to follow directions and I had it put together in about 30 minutes. It is sturdy, and the quality is great. I have it hung and it is very comfortable and very solid looking. I am more than pleased with this swing, and would highly recommend it to anyone. Thank you for the product."

Made A Customer For Life

"Swing arrived three days earlier than scheduled but the chains were missing which was great. Unfortunately, the chains were missing from the box. I called and talked to Darlene and she was very helpful and assured me she would get them shipped out right away. By the end of the day she texted me the tracking number for the chains. Disappointed initially but their service made up for it."

Very poor communication and poor quality

"Put order in and never heard from the company ever again. Calling their toll free number is useless.
I had to put a dispute into my credit card company about the charge since I could not get any answers from the company. Guess what 2 days later I finally get a email about my delivery date.
When the swing arrived it was very poor quality. Should have done some research prior to placing order. Will never use this company again! I recommend you stay away.

"Ordered on sale, product delivered with countless calls on progress and how its being shipped because i guess their internet email is broken and only works if money is attached to an order incoming. Horrible customer service. Product packaging is awful and parts got chipped during delivery. FedEX always breaks things, regardless of "fragile" printed on the box. Assembly required!!! and product is only okay in quality and construction. Seemed the picture had thicker wood on it than what got delivered and its not as heavy duty as one would expect for a $400+ swing... If i paid full price for this I would have been really **** off. As is was I think it was at least 100 over what it should have cost. sloppy workmanship, incomplete staining, no varnish, included screws for the cup holder with a SQUARE driver head on them.... Who has that driver just laying around? I suppose if I hung drywall for a living I would but not as a general homeowner or even a guy with lots of tools for most every house job...... would not buy from them again and if you do I hope its when the product is on sale and you don;t feel cheated.

Wish I read reviews before purchasing.

"Bought a bench. It came. Very poor quality wood, but I planned to paint it so I went ahead and assembled it. Then I realized it was the wrong size. And it was so warped, it wouldn't sit flat. So I contacted Customer Service and they asked for photos and sent the correct size. After assembly, it also was warped and the quality of the wood was no better. No need to try for a third strike. I'm done."
