DIGITAL EDITIONS BUT THEY DON'T TELL YOU THAT!

"The search pages I used, where to find back issues of Consumer Reports. I got to this site and thought i was buying paper copy. I kept waiting for shipping to be added to my purchase. Before I knew it I made the purchase and now was stick with a digital copy. I chatted and explained the issue but they said sorry no Refunds. Now I come to RR and I see they are a poor business with lousy feedback. I should have looked here first!
Also their payment system did not work correctly. kept telling me my CC info was incorrect. That make me nervous now.

They Killed a Mediocre Version (4) to Force an Unfinished Version (5) on Us

"Zinio Reader 4 was a mediocre application at best, but at least it worked once one got past its rather amateurish interface. However, in a fit of "wisdom" Zinio took down all support for ZR4 with the idea of forcing users to move "up" to ZR5 -- an unfinished effort, and a complete disaster. The old version at least permitted one to view and print a single page, and included the option of printing the "current" pair of pages shown in a two-page spread. ZR5 permits printing only a single page at a time, but NOT the right hand page of a two page spread. And to add insult to injury, there is no way to display OR print that right hand page, since the only way to display a document on a desktop or laptop computer is in "two-up" mode.

One would think a half-way competent crew of applications developers woud at least finish writing an app before killing its predecessor. One star is too many for this outfit.

Poor Customer Service, Purchase Does Not Work as Promised

"I was excited to come across Zinio as the company I was looking for is seeking out higher resolution images of magazines we've been featured in. I did read the negative reviews on Zinio prior to purchasing, but thought it couldn't be that bad. Unfortunately, it IS that bad. There is no way to contact customer service except for online chat. I initiated my problem 6 days ago and no one is responding to my follow up questions. I purchased $60 worth of various magazines from 2015 to 2018, and nothing past 2017 displays the pages for me. There are just fuzzy image fillers and I cannot view the content. Very frustrated, want my money back!"

"I wish there were an option to give this company 0/5 stars. The customer service is none existent. Line level employees and managers made it clear that $7.99 is more important to them than satisfying customers! Product details are unclear, so BE ADVISED: all products are electronic versions. "

Terrible service. Bad Application.

"I purchased content from Zinio in the form of a digital magazine subscription, which I could only view through either their app or their website. If I was logged into their app, then tried to view content on the website, the website would report to me that I was already logged in and would have to log out of the other location first. Their app wouldn't update with the magazine I purchased, and due to content restrictions I can not even search for the magazine due to it containing some *adult* content. Their app can not be manually refreshed, so even after I purchased the content through the web portal I was unable to access it on my mobile device. In short I would discourage anyone from using their poorly designed products.

STUPID app with really STUPID limitations

"Just one thing would make this rubbish heap of an app somewhat useful.....allowing your "valuable customers" to put the ever growing huge magazine data file on a drive OTHER than the OS drive on a MAC. DUH! Forcing us to put the magazines on the OS drive shrinks the important free space the OS uses to actually run the MAC......and putting it on other drives, including external....is a VERY BASIC CONCEPT! Get with it Zinio! Sheeeshhhhh!!!!"

Zinio is slow, uncomfortable and limiting

"I am reading Writers Digest for years now. As a german reader, I was glad to get it as a e-Zine-Abo in pdf-format. But now WD sells the magazine via zinio. Browsing through the magazine is slow, you can use it on fewer devices than the pdf-version (e.g. can't read it on kindle), printing the magazine is only possible site by site, ... After years, I cancelled my WD subscription and I am really sad about it. But I won't pay for a service, I cannot enjoy."

Terrible

"Worst experience. Made a mistake with my order and customer service will not refund my money. Didn't even use the ordered product. Contacted them immediately after the mistake was made, but I'm stone walled with a 'no excuses' return policy.
Don't even bother downloading this or using this company for anything.

"Be careful before using zinio .

The product is great but then you will get a horible headache.

I subscribe one year magazine for 22$ but then they keep charging me since . More than 30times! I contact customer service that said don't worry money did not go though then it's just system errors. But still keep errors after I contact them. Keep charging like 10 times per day also after that. Money is gone in my bank account. But zio didn't take action . No refund. I have to dispute my bank account my credit card just for stupid zinio app.

"I agree with the other reviewers, the product is great. Customer Service is bad. I have been using Zinio since January of 2012, going on three years.
I have a subscription to an international magazine for a great price, and I had Z-Pass. However, Z-Pass is difficult to use, some magazines don't show, and there is no way to search for them (in Z-Pass view, all you get is sorting by popularity or alphabetical order, and if you use the regular search, it does not show whether the magazine is available in Z-Pass or not).
After several frustrating attempts to find the magazine I wanted (one that I had been getting on Z-Pass and had swapped), I wrote this to Customer Service:

"I am trying to swap magazines on my Z-pass but I am having trouble finding them. Are HGTV Magazine and Dwell not on Z-pass anymore? And also, why is there no category search for Z-pass? Having to scroll through all magazines, instead of browsing the categories I'm interested in makes it very difficult to find what I want and is getting so frustrating that I am considering canceling both my Z-pass and my subscriptions with Zinio."

I got no response at all. My HGTV magazine appeared on my account and my Z-Pass was cancelled (also, now you can at least narrow down the Z-Pass titles by category). That was all. Judge by yourself.

"With the negative reviews I read here about Zinio, I was just about ready to forget even considering them for a purchase; however, I was having trouble finding a local hardcopy source for the latest Mopar Muscle magazine, and having it as a digital copy was a big plus for me. Somewhat reluctantly, I decided to go ahead and make the purchase via PayPal, at least allowing me some recourse should things go bad.

Much to my surprise, the checkout process was quick, the download was instantly available, and the quality of the scans was excellent. The only downside was that I could not save the copy, only view it online. This still was not a deal breaker, as I was able to take screen captures of the pages I really wanted to keep. All in all, this was a very positive experience, at least for a single-copy download and no Customer Service interaction!
