"The equipment is probably great . I wouldn't know since I got it 3 weeks ago I haven't been able to use it . Will not run on my desktop which runs XP . And the service that I have received since I got it has been absolutely terrible . Each person sends me on to another without helping me solve my problem .
Even Brett that some of those people are raving about hasn't came through like he said that he would .
Can I recommend X10 products and service ?

"X10 makes great devices that make it easy to access lights and other things when you are not near a switch. They also sell security and computerized home automation.

It takes a long time to search their web site for the best deals, but the savings are worth it.

Fast order processing and shipping.

The only problem I had was with the $15 credit I was supposed to get for signing up for their newsletter. They said it was emailed to me, but I never got it. I was told that they could give me the credit if I ordered by phone, but not on an email order. I placed the order but ended up being charged the full amount. I called back and was told they would put through the credit on my credit card. I assume they will.

"OK, so I ordered the single wireless indoor/ outdoor motion sensored camera, just before Christmas over Ebay, from JS Enterprises, a dealer for X10 products. Hubby shook his head. I noticed from the tracking number it was stuck in Portland Fedex receiving for almost a week, due to the outrageous snow storm in our area. Hubby shook his head. We had to pick it up in town from Fedex, they would not deliver to our snowed in home. Hubby shook his head. I hook up my new do everything printer from Dell, that had been setting in Portland for a week. It fried on the first print command, from the moisture it collected while sitting in Portland. I had bought an extra warranty, so they happily took it back. Hubby had to run it to the Fedex drop off in town. We started to unpack the box from X10.com. Hubby really shook his head. Steve from JS Enterprises had mentioned when I got the package, to go to X10 web site and place my invoice number to request the Vanguard software. I was a little worried when I saw the dressings the models on the web page wore. If I had seen that from Ebay, I would not have given X10 a second thought. While I waited...Hubby shaking his head while he was placing everything outside....it was the holidays! I finally gave up and emailed Steve. It was waiting for me the next day in Email. I set up the software, tried everything to get that little camera to do its thing from the motion sensor. Insanity at its highest. Hubby saying he could have gotten a corded one for half the price. Me growling loudly. Somehow, somewhere though all this, Brett A found me. I do not know how he does it, but somehow, within one email he got it going and there is a little halo around the little green icon when it records. I would never have been able to figure it out without his help. Now it is all so simple. Thinking about getting a couple more cameras from X10 and expanding the coverage to the front of the house. Notice, with all the moisture in the air, with all the little electrical parts with the camera kit...It all worked. Packed very well for traveling in the snow. And with Brett’s help it all came together. I would recommend X10 Products to others, I would have them ask for Brett if they needed up setting it up. PS, Hubby quit shaking his head."

"i HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET MY SOFTWARE WORKING FOR OVER A YEAR.tHE PROBLEM STEMS FROM MY SWITCHING FROM WINDOWS XP TO VISTA.JUST RECENTLY X10 HAS FOUND A FIX FOR THIS FOR ALL USERS OF WINDOWS VISTA.IT HAS BEEN VERY UPSETTING UP TO THIS POINT.
I NOW AM IN CONTACT WITH THEIR SUPPORT DEPT.AND AM PLEASED TO SAY THAT "BRETT A" ,ERIC BOYD AND "MEIA" HAVE BEEN VERY UNDERSTANDING AND HELPFUL.WE NOW HAVE TO EXCHANGE VIDEO CAPTURE COMPONENTS THAT ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH "VISTA" SO THE SOUGA CONTINUES,AND IF THEY KEEP THEIR PRESENT PERFORMANCE GOING WE SHALL "OVERCOME"

"The technical support group spent over 2 hours to get a message to my e-mail. Not their fault but for some reason it wouldn't work. They tried and tried and didn't give up. Real good customer relations for giving it all they could.

"Received the hardware so quickly that X-10 hadn't yet gotten the software to me. Spoke to Brett on the phone, he apologized for not getting it, and then for the delay (all of a huge 60 seconds) in getting it lined up. Received it immediately after. No comments yet on the system, but very satisfied with the order shipment and the resolution of the software issue."

"I have the X-10 spy cams, they work great except for night ability. I can see cars stopping 1 mi away at a stop sign down the county road. The clarity is exceptional. When I bought the new cams & wireless-I was refused to use my X-10 bucks & again for my pc-tv ware"

"Purchased a new lola system ,Have had a lola system since the late 70s on my pc windows xp worked great and is still working. The new system was purchased for my lap top with windows vista downloaded software and had problums with download x10 tech amenda h gave me instructions on what to do{turn off firewall& antivirus. followed her advice, lap top froze as soon as I pluged in the usb Had to restore system to get my lap top running. Will do without lola on my lap top. I dont think this system is good with vista.
Have many other x10 products and all work great.

"Very Dissatisfied I used X10 system for over 20 years & have been happy untill I got the CM 15A interface. the problem is the timer in the CM15A will NOT turn the module ON 100%of the time, but will turn the modules Off 100% of the time.I tested CM15A & modules as it said in your Indetifying & Troubleshooting Powerline Noise & Control Problems from X10 wiki. By using the HR12A the modules turn ON & OFF 100% of the time. I then moved the Modules to the plug & lamp they were to control & did the test again & work 100% of the time. I then had the CM15A timer & it would NOT turn ON only turn OFF. By you test it should work. I reverse the time for ON & OFF & it will NOT come ON only go OFF. This tell me that the ON signal is to low that the CM15A is BAD!! Your tech support need a lot of help & training all they do say it a noise or pphase problen & sale more equip. Your Tech said the signal out of the timer is lower than using your HR12A if this true the why do you test the way that you do & why dose the OFF signal work 100% & the ON dose NOT work 100% of the time. This make NO Sence. PLEASE RESPOND BY E- MAIL TO ED GOOLD AT ****@**** "

"Great company with great products. I have ordered from X10 many times and have never had a problem. The order is always correct and it always arrives quickly. Their products make life a little simpler. They are super easy to install and have great documentation and technical support behind them. When contacting Technical support my wait times have been very low and the support technicians have always been abel to answer my questions quickly. My most recent contact was handled by Jennel McHolland who did an excellent job! Keep up the great work."

"I've been using X10 hardware from clear back in the 70's when it first came out so I'm an experienced user. Received my online order quickly and completely, but the software for the USB controller was not included in the box nor was it explained to me anywhere that it was coming via email and there were registration codes to obtain. My first call to their customer support wasn't helpful, but luckily my second try I talked to Brett A who was VERY helpful and VERY knowledgeable and he immediately took care of me 100%. Brett is at ext 2627."

"The telephone agent Edolia was very knowledgable and was able to help me immediately. I noticed that X10 finally has a working database of customers and Edolia was able to find my information and send my serial numbers quickly.

The only downside was the awful music on hold which was constantly interupted by innane sales pitches that never seemed to complete.
