"It took them almost a week to send me a email to call them to verify order!!! Then I called at least four times and got thru with them, then just to find out my order was cancelled (no email from them saying it was cancelled). They claimed it's out of stock!! They just don't want to sell at the price I ordered. I noticed they raise the price for the same item and says "in stock" according the website. Stay Away!!

"Terrible! I ordered a camera on line and changed my mind about it. Called and was on hold for 40 minutes. The guy preceded to sell me a bunch of accessories for the "packaged deal" The camera I received wasn't even the one I wanted. They didn't itemize the accessories or give me a price for just the camera. I ended up paying 399.00 dollars for a camera they advertised as 199.00. Even the accessories don't add up to the amount paid. I will never use them again and hope they get black listed."

"I purchased online and read the "warning" about shipping address needing to be added to credit card company file. Mine is.
I get an email 2 days later telling me I have to call to finalized the order. I call and wait online for 30 minutes. When the salesperson answers I express my dissatisfaction of having to call after placing an order online and the salesperson is rude and tells me it is the credit card companies policy to verify by phone. Of course I know this is false and tell him so and the salesperson says "I have canceled your order". I ask to speak to a manager and he says there isn't one; I say I'll wait until there is one. I am put on hold for 10 minutes and a "manager" answers and then hangs up.
I do not recommend doing business with these guys.

"I found a really good price for Canon PowerShot SD 1000 on this website. Ordered it online and got the email that I need to call to verify my address (turns out it is their standard sales trick and has nothing to do with security).

Which I did. And I received a very quick sales pitch for accessories. Now I usually don't do this without evaluation, but since the price on the camera was so good, I assumed same on accessories (wrong!!).

Fact is, they told me some lies, such as the battery that comes with the camera being very short lived, while their Ultra high life batery lasts and lasts (in reality the Canon battery is 750 mAh, while the way overpriced battery I received was 850 mAh, albeit I was told earlier that it would be 1550 mAh).

Also, they told me that the battery charger was internal and takes overnight, so I need a universal battery charger (which I assumed I do need, because I travel abroad). In reality the charger that comes with the camera charges faster than the universal charger. The only advantage of the universal charger (not worth their price) is the 12V input.

Well, at least I received my stuff in good order and they did not charge me more than was said.

Altogether, my advice is don't buy from these guys. Although they don't cheat in a way that would be trackeable on paper, yet they try to push people into buying overpriced accessories and give misleading information in the process.

Of course you can stick with your guns and only want the ordered item, but why waste your time while there are other places with good prices and honest service. Besides, with their current practice, these guys don't deserve to stay in business.

"VERY SHADY. Do not buy anything from them. They will real you in with an initial low cost on a product then they will HARD sell their overpriced accessories. All their accessories are marked up 10x. The EXACT same battery they sell for $150 costs $15 on eBay they sell it as a premium battery. They will mark it down to $99 to real you in. Same goes for their filter kit wisetronics $199 eBay $15. Lenses $299 eBay $25. Don't be taken by these crooks. BE CAREFUL. STAY AWAY!!!"

"This was the worst online experience of my life. The price was good but I learned a valuable lesson- ALWAYS ALWAYS read available seller ratings (beware of shill ratings). WiseTronics operates in a dispicable fashion and its phone staff, e.g., Steve, are rude and obnoxious when you do not fall for the hard sell. The address, by the way is:

"STAY AWAY FROM THIS WEBSITE. I tried to place an order because they had such a great price anc received an email asking me to call and verify the order. When I called they tried to sell me severely overpriced accessories that I didn't need. When I didn't receive my camera, I called and was told it was backordered for 3 weeks. Upon further investigation this their bait and switch tactic. The BBB.org has numerous complaints or just search wisetronics.com to see all the complaints; I wish I had."

"CROOKS!

I can't believe these guys. I didn't take the time and research this shop until after this story. I would never have made a purchase.

I placed an order for a battery grip from my Rebel XTi. It was a crazy price: $19.95 for a $170 part. Two days after placing the order (and now more aware of the grey-market NY dealers), I get the "call us for verification of your order". After waiting on hold for 5 minutes, some guy picks up and asks for my order number. He immediately puts me back on hold for another few minutes before a different guys picks up and I go back through the "what's your order number". He looks up the order and then the comedy begins:

Crook: "Ok sir, I see you ordered the Battery Grip. This requires two batteries - should I add them to this order?".

Me: "No, I already have two batteries. And it doesn't require two. It needs one batter OR 6 AA batteries. You can also use it without batteries as an extra grip."

Crook: "Ok. What type of camera do you have?"

Me: "Digital Rebel XTi"

Crook: "Oh. You ordered the wrong one. The one you ordered is for the XT".

Me: "No... it works with the XTi."

Crook: "No it doesn't."

Me: "*Gasp & Sigh* It does and I want that part. So let's just go ahead with the order"

Crook: "No. We can't. It's for the wrong camera and I can't sell it to you now"

Me: "What? What do you care. Ok... it's for an XT. Just please ship it"

Crook: "Nope. I have you on tape saying it's for the XTi and can't sell it to you now"

Me: "You've got to be kidding me. Who cares. Maybe it's a gift or maybe I have another camera that it works with. I understand you are a grey market dealer and you want to get me on the phone and put me into more accessories and bait/switch the good deal... but I just need that part."

Crook: "Ok, whatever. It's out of stock and you'll need to wait 7-8 weeks until it's in-stock."

I told him Ok and we hung up. Of course I sent an email canceling the order and would have preferred never placing the order.

I later noticed that they claim their checkout page is SSL encrypted and IT"S NOT. There's no protection for your personal details. These guys are TERRIBLE> Buyer Beware.

I need to go take a shower now.

"The 2 invoice numbers given were actually the order numbers of the 2 tries.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. Here is my complaint to the BBB:

- Twice ordered online for the same item (Hitachi hybrid camcorder DZHS500S) which was listed in stock on their site and on lowpriceDigital.com
- Each time the online status looked like the item was going to be shipped. Status showed up for over 1 day
- Then received email to call to verify each time
- When called was informed the order has been cancelled due to "out of stock"
- Online sites still show "In stock"
- Records of orders completely cancelled.
- The second tome, when confronted, staff simple hang up the phone.

Is this how they run their business?
What scam or what game are they trying to pull ?
Why can't an email just go out to say out of stock ?
Or better yet, when the order is submitted, why the order was not refused due to out of stock ... ?

"Don't buy from them. They don't stand by the deals they offer.
Wisetronics offered a great deal on a HV20 camcorder on their website. I rang and spoke to their sales department to confirm the item was in stock as I needed it to film a wedding in 8 days. I was assured it was in stock and would definitely ship to me within days. I placed my order via the website the same day. After 2 days I received an email stating I had to call their verification department. I did so immediately and the guy started by taking all my credit card details again. He then tried hard to upsell the camcorder by suggesting I purchase a 5h extended life battery for $199, a 2h battery for $99, or extended warranties for 2 or 4 years. I did not want any of these items and had already declined them on the website. He then started talking down the purchase by stating that the camcorder really only came with a 90 day warranty from the manufacturer and not a one year warranty. I asked if this was standard from Canon and was told it was standard....although other websites all indicate that a one year warranty is offered by the manufacturer. He then eventually said they would not be able to ship the camcorder for when I wanted it (and not for another 12 days) as they actually had Chinese versions of the HV20 in stock, not US versions. When I suggested this was not what I had been told by his sales departent and was not fair service he unilaterally cancelled my order "I'm cancelling your order" and immediately hung up on me. The clear impression that I had was that they were not going to sell a camcorder to me unless I purchased expensive accesories - I never asked to cancel my order and in fact had gone through the whole sales contract process both online and by phone.

It seems faceless companies like Wisetronics can unilaterally breach sales contracts whenever it suits them. As a consumer if I tried to do the same thing (i.e. cancelled an agreed purchase) I would be charged 10% of the item price - as per Wisetronics own website "Orders which are canceled after they have been billed, processed [....] will be charged 10% processing fee".

Don’t waste your time buying from them.

"I ordered ONLY a Canon Powershot SD850 from Wisetronics.
I received an email stating that they had to speak with me before they could ship my camera. I called using extension 201 (as in email). Jeff then read me back my name and address. Then went into a sales pitch. He offered the extended life battery (because the battery that comes with the Canon Is not a long life batter. Against my better judgement I accepted the 5-Hour Battery for $89 (also offered a 3 hour for $69). Then He tried to sell me a SD Memory Card (1 GB for $119). I told him that I was not interested because I HAVE many Security Digital Cards (I had also seen them for between $10 & $60 for large, fast cards). He tried to sell me an extended warranty, which I also declined. I received the shipment today - Contained all the items ordered plus the SD card, a camera case. The original Total of $315 for the camera was now $559..65. I called and spoke with 3 people who all offered the same things. A rapid battery charger with a car adaptor. If I wanted to return the item - 20% re-stocking fee (although on website it says 10%). It would cost me $98 to cancel order. I was basically told that their records indicate that I DID order this stuff, and that the stuff ordered on the telephone does not show up in my account (although I am unable to find any information regarding my original order on the website). You should definately, under NO circumstances order products from this company.
