"Technicians were extremely knowledgeable, easy to understand and quick to act. There was some early hesitation to purchase the service because of all the phony companies selling the type of service but after doing some checking felt confident enough in the company and their product that I decided to give them a try, The only thing they promised that I am still waiting for is a refund from thier I-MaX Division."

"I originally had an issue with a windows key not authenticating. After problems locating the direct number for Microsift Support I decided to call the number for Microsoft Xbox Support in hopes of getting transferred directly to MS Technical Support. The Xbox support operator gave me a number which she said was for MS Support.

The next day I called the number and I was greeted by a man who said I was calling Vernisoft. I told him I thought he was Microsoft Tech Support and that I had made a mistake but he informed me that Vernisoft Subcontracts for Microsoft.

I then told him about my windows key authentication issues and he asked to remote in to view my problem. I allowed it knowing my new hard drives had nothing really worth stealing on them because i had only just put them in a week before. He attempted to authenticate my key the same way i had done it through the MS Tool. It did not work. He then started opening my Chrome and IE Browsers. After that he opened my Task Manager and told me I had a Trojan that could be stopping my authentication. I said if that was the problem I would just reformat my drives and start over. He argued that the virus would spread to other computers in my house and end up reinstalling itself on my computer after my reformat.

He then informed me that their Tech Support specialists would fix the problem so I would not have to worry about it and they would fix my windows key problem too guranteed up to 1 year for $199.

I agreed to do this because the windows key I thought I had was a gift from a friend. I had been using the key for a few years prior with no problems.

I observed and recorded the tech support agent remotely use my computer to contact Microsoft Support and pretend to be me. He presented my windows key. At this point i had to step away. When I returned I saw my Microsoft Security Essentials open with a recent scan completed. The Vernisoft tech support agent told me everything was fixed but there was a problem with my windows key.

At this point I was suspicious that someone who had been originally been presented to me as a subcontractor for Microsoft pretended to be me when contacting Microsoft. I checked for what my antivirus had been used to clean in its history. The only new thing listed was something called Genderhacktool. The Vernisoft agent immediately cleared it from the list when i viewed it. I asked why he did that and he told me everything had been taken care of and that my windows key was now working for now. When I started asking about what was done to "fix" my problems he told me "Don't worry about it" and "Everything is taken care of" several times. When I proceeded to ask more questions about what was "Genderhacktool" and what he actually did to fix my key and "jumping trojan" problem, more and more Vernisoft agents began to call me on the phone and chat with me in their remote box sometimes simultaneously. Feeling a little overwhelmed I told them I was done with them. (I was exhausted and just wanted to end the conversations.)

A week or so later after I found some free time from work I contacted Microsoft. Once I was online with one of their agents they told me they had never heard of Vernisoft nor did they believe that what was done to my windows key to fix it was legitimate and to ask for a refund. I also found out the windows key I was trying to use was the wrong one.

The next day I called Vernisoft and asked for a refund. I experienced the same overwhelming conversation as multiple agents were handed my phone call back and forth to deal with me and ensure me they were legitimate. They then offered to give me a $99 refund and still offer me 1 year of tech support free. Being once again tired of repeating the same conversation to 3 or 4 different agents I accepted in good faith because they stated they were a fairly new organization and wanted a good reputation.

It has been about 3 weeks since that time and I still have not recieved a refund or any followup.

"I was initially apprehensive since an article in a publication up here in Canada described a scam involving a scenario that unfolded almost identical to mine. In addition, I am always leery about turning control of my computer to some party I don't know. The scam referred to above used that to plant nasty stuff into the victim's computer for later activation. In any event, Vernisoft advised me to take back control as soon as they were finished.
The unexpected bonus is that my computer is 10 times faster and doesn't get hung up anymore (so far at least). I feel the service was good and my only question at the moment is should I renew my Norton 360 when it expires ?

"I'm just not if the price was too high, and what happens if this Co. goes out of business before the 2 years tech. support is up, or what happens to the lifetime monitoring in the same scenario.
Thank you

"After spending several hours on the phone with the technicians, my computer showed no improvement. Since that time functions, particularly internet operation has slowed dramatically. I received one follow-up call inquiring about the operation of my computer. When I reported that is was in decline, I was advised that the service performed was ONE TIME technical support and any further work would be at an additional charge. I will advise Visa that I am disputing the charge because the service performed did not fix any operational problems and, in fact, resulted in deteriorating performance of my computer."
