"I’ve gotten some orders from here and was satisfied. My last order never arrived and customer service told me that there was a mix-up because someone else had bought the book before me and that they had given me a refund. But no one bothered to tell me that this problem had occurred and that my order wasn’t coming! I complained that I should have been notified and they have stopped responding. They don’t seem very concerned with keeping customers happy or even notifying them about their orders."

" My order came within a reasonable amount of time. The price was fair for what I thought I had ordered. The true problem was their description of like new, fair, excellent condition… Etc., is completely off. I just received two books, both were described as like new. One of them has writing all through it and a couple ripped pages. The other one has ripped and torn pages, tattered exterior of the book with the binding half ripped off. If they were simply honest about the condition of the books I would have known what to expect."

It was packaged in a sturdy box & delivered by USPS. The book was in brand new condition. I will definitely order from Thriftbooks again. I rate them as “Excellent” with five stars. They did not give me a shipping number as they first indicated. I have ordered online quite a few things for many years. The merchants don’t always give me a shipping # - I’m ok with this. "

"Horrible experience! Ordered 4 Malcolm Gladwell books, 3 in “like new” condition the other in “good condition”....well I received one of the three books totally mangled. The pages were half torn out of the book and the cover was completely destroyed (it was falling apart in my hands) it also looked like it was soaked in water at one point because the entire book including the pages were all warped from water damage. Threw it in the trash as soon as i opened the package because it was unusable. I realize that this is a second hand store but this book was in an unsellable condition! The worst part is the other 3 books i ordered STILL haven’t arrived and my order was placed over 4 weeks ago!! This website is a SCAM go to your local brick and mortar thrift book store!"

"I placed an order on Oct. 2 and today is the 11th. Still not here and no tracking updates since it shipped. Mind you...it shipped from IL and I live in IN. I let them know and they are sending a replacement order BUT said it can take up to ANOTHER 8 days. Told me that was the fastest shipping metgod available. They may be cheaper and free shipping on orders over $10 but not worth the wait in my opinion. And she was sort of rude about it. Not using them again."

"I worked for thriftbooks for only 4 months before realizing what a horrible company they are. Not only do they rip off their customers but they also mistreat their employees. The managers are racists and play favoritism based on social status. Even upon bringing this to HR's attention, nothing changed. Obviously this company has no remorse to their morally wrong ways. Buying books from this company supports what's wrong with the world these days. "

I called and Thriftbooks refuses to take my book back and refund my full amount that I paid. DO NOT BUY FROM THRIFTBOOKS."
