"Placed an order for a pair of shoes. They were cancelled by walking company before I recieved them. When I called to inquire I was offered only a 10% on only a select few pairs that were not comparable to what I originally ordered

Ignore the 1 stars! This company has relaunched and has blown the shoes ONTO my feet!

"Where to begin? In short, I am absolutely impressed (to the point of tears). I met Barry, the VP at the Rock N Roll Vegas expo and they were offering free scams of our feet. I'm former military police of 12 years so my feet are wrecked!!! I see podiatrists and have regular work done on my feet. Believe you me, I know foot troubles. Their scan was fast and easy. I went to the store and picked up my free orthopedic inserts and... Honestly, I'm tearing up as I write this... (Pardon tear typos)y feet have never felt so supported or comforted. Ever. I have ZERO pain and I've been standing the past 2 days at the expo, 8 hours each day, in these inserts (picked them up after the first day)! I am so grateful! I truly will never buy another companies shoes or inserts! The Walking Company earned this customer for life!

worst experience ever

"i order shoe for my sister 3weeks ago suppose to get there two week. my money was refund after two week i order again third week they finally sends me email saying call to verify bank so i called and ask them why didnt u email me before about this could have delivered sooner they didnt give a *****t said they don't know why. shes just doing her job she said i told them they should be sorry but respond is nothing not even one sorry i told my sister never order for this company every again bunch of b/s"

Poor service

"Ordered a pair of shoes online that I had been looking at for months. Waiting on a specific size. Well it was available to order and then 24 hours later they said sorry. How am I able to order it online and then you tell me no. That is a complete joke. Plus the customer service team is absolutely useless. Called then to express my concerns and the **** the other end said let me try and find them I will call you back. That was Sunday at noon. Surprise...I have heard nothing from them. "

Refuse to honor their written "guarantee"

"I bought some shoes and called a week later to take advantage of their Price Guarantee. Basically, they have no price guarantee because they don't match when a code is used (which it doesn't say this in their written, online policy) and also, I hadn't initially noticed this, the policy excludes "sale" products so I'm not sure under what scenario they should ever match a price. With service like this, it won't be long before they're crushed by the likes of Amazon and Zappos. "

Poor and Expensive Experience

"I bought a pair of flip flops, abeo specifically, for $80. I was clear with the seller, manager also, that I wanted a pair of comfortable summer shoes for here in Arizona. I explained I take my kids to the pool a lot, do house work and spend many hours on my feet. This is the reason I was willing to pay that much money, to keep my feet comfortable and healthy. She said I can wet the shoes but not submerge them in water. Well, I didn't do much but to wear them and in less than a month, they are falling a part. My mistake was not keeping the receipt. So be careful. They are not that good quality as a I though a pair of $80 flip flops would be. I have had cheap ones that ever broke that quick. After talking to the staff in the store, emailing, and calling customer service, they won't do anything to help me. No store credit, no exchange, no returns without receipt. They asked every piece my personal information for their system to keep me in their records, but they will not see my purchase in their system even giving them my info and credit card number. So, if you purchase something from here, keep your receipt for a while. You never know, the sun melt it the glue and damage mine. Very disappointed with their customer service once you made the purchase. Nor the store, nor the factory would take responsibility. "

Horrific Customer Service

"Went to return 2 pair of shoes that did not feel comfortable after trying them on inside my house. Never worn outside. Tags still intact. Store Manager at Northlake rudely accuses me of lying about wearing the shoes and having a dirty house. Then tells me he will not return one pair. In long run both shoes were returned and complaint filed with headquarters. We shall see if they return my message. This was my first ever purchase from this company and my last purchase! Customers deserve respect and quality service. You will not get this from the walking company. "

"I bought shoes and had trouble with insoles. When I called the woman was so rude. She sounded like she was fresh out of high school and it was her first customer service job. She kept interupting and said my issue was too minor for a supervisor."

"Hello everyone my name is Kevin i work at Macys wharehose i walk picking from 5pm thru 330am constant walking i was thinking about giving up my job because its hard on my feet,well my wife was at an appointment and there was a nice woman overheard me telling my wife that i was thru about giving up so she say excuse me wife says yes have you guys ever heard of the walking store at arrowhead mall?No ma'am well she had the same problem with her feet and she showed me her inserts she got 4 80 dollars.Well i contacted the walking store at arrowhead Abraham was on the line i exlained what was going on well he end up working at amazon for years and had on the same shoes he used there so i flew there and he tested my feet and set me up with the shoes and inserts,this was on friday im doing my review after i tried out the shoes first my feet are in heaven i saved my job i work hard i made full time after 3 weeks.Thanks Abraham your a god send he was thorough patient and just all out great these work god bless the walking company."

Bad, 20th century style website

"Because ResellerRating focuses on '.com', this review is specific my experience with The Walking Company's website. We have found our local brick and mortar store to be decent and have posted a positive Yelp review of that.

Executive summary: Doing business online with The Walking Company is really aggravating. Also, note that in 2016 they bought FootSmart, another company with a 1 star rating here at ResellerRatings. Don't think that adds up to a 2 star rating . . . :o(

Their website is very poorly designed. It appears that the individual products are not consistently categorized which makes it difficult to find what you want. For example, filter for 'winter boots' and you'll get winter boots, but it turns out you don't get ALL the winter boots they offer. Ooops. And instead of each item having one listing that offers all the options for an item, there are often multiple listings for same product differentiated only by color. And if you sort by 'Brand' the results are random within the brand. Duh.

In addition, after you save products into your cart, they are likely to be deleted/cleared by the next time you log in to your account. I called to ask why this happened and they acknowledged that "It does delete after period of time but we don't know how long that is." Double duh.

All of this is utterly stupid on their part because it discourages people from doing business with them.

I added one star because, if you're willing to wade through all the dumb, you can get the very good Abeo shoes for which they seem to be the only online seller.

Terrible customer service

"Ordered 3 pairs of shoes online that came with the orthotics included in the price of the shoe. Got them finally, but they did not fit, so I sent them back exactly as they came to me. The Walking Company said that I did not return the orthotics, so did not process my return. I called the customer service people to find out what was going on, and they suggested that I stole the orthotics. After fighting with them for over a month via multiple phone calls and emails, and giving them the return shipping weight (that verified that I did not steal the orthotics), they finally agreed that I should be refunded for the entire cost of the shoes. However, they are taking their time about refunding my money (still haven't and we are going on 1.5 months). Since I paid with both a gift card and credit card, it seems they decided that my entire refund should go back on a gift card, and have not put the money back on my credit card. Overall, the customer service was abysmal, no one seemed to know how to fix the problem, and they inappropriately accused me of lying/stealing. Their shoes are terrific, so it is incredibly disappointing that they treat their customers so horribly."

Terrible customer service Late shipping

" I ordered three pairs of shoes as a Christmas present. Four days later, nothing had been shipped. I called and they were very brusque, stated they had already shipped when they had not. The next day, I got email shipping notification and found out that all three pairs of shoes were coming after Christmas. I called customer service again, they couldn’t care less and couldn’t wait to get me off the phone. Now I have to go buy a Christmas present and return all of these to the store after they arrive. They have wasted hours of my time when Amazon and Zappos have two day shipping. Never again. "

Excellent service

"I received a pair of shoes within 3 days of ordering. This was the first pleasant surprise. Unfortunately they were the incorrect size. On calling the company I spoke to an extremely helpful person. As I needed the shoes in a hurry, she gave me the option of buying a new pair over the phone so that she could ship them straight away. I did this and again received them within days. The returns process was seamless and at no cost, and my refund for the returned pair was processed promptly. Will definitely use again."

"Worst customer service I have ever experienced. They sell shoes as a drop ship middleman and can offer no assurance that their vendors can deliver the product. Horrible experience

"Took one month to get my shoes and when I received them they hurt my feet so badly I couldn't wear them. Also they were supposed to be slip resistant but slipped and fell in them twice while working. Worst experience ever with customer service and not a good product.
