Horrible

"Don't buy your shoes here! This company has horrible customer service. Better hope your shoes fit!! If they don't you pay shipping and if your shoebox is missing or even slightly damaged they will use that to rob you of 25% of your payment and not issue u a refund only a store credit. Customer service response time and good times are horrendous. Stick with Zappos and Amazon. Hassle free returns and you don't get stuck with the cost."

Return Policy

"I recently received a pair of sandals from this company. I wore them 3 times, once was outside to walk my dog. I notice that on my 2nd wearing, my left foot was hurting a little bit, but when I wore for the walk outside, the sandal my left foot was causing a great deal of pain. There is no way that I can wear these sandals. I had ordered them because I have pain in my right foot due to plantar fasciitis and the right sandal was fine; however, the left one was very hurtful. I called the company to explain my dilemma and to see if I could get a refund or exchange. I was told that there was no remedy since I had worn the sandals outside. How was I to make sure the sandals would work for me if I didn't wear them?? They didn't hurt the first time I wore them, but the pain was really bad on my 3rd wearing. So, now I'm stuck with a pair of expensive sandals I cannot wear. I'll never purchase anything again from this company and will let others know to not shop this company either."

False Advertising, Intentionally Sent Wrong Shoes-Failure to Send Prepaid Delivery for Return of Shoes!

Complaint Description:
I purchased 3 pair of New Balance Rebels from TheWalkingco.com and they deliberately sent me wrong sized shoes and female shoe in male new balance box I paid $157.44 for 3 pair of New Balance Rebels They confirmed receipt of my request via assignment of request number 94402 on Orders wk476165 & wk47647. Devin Patterson emailed me. thewalkingco.com intentionally sent wrong sized shoes and female shoes in a male new balance box. I've contacted the company asking for a prepaid return shipping label and refund for their deliberate false advertising and fraudulent sales tactic by sending the wrong sized shoes and refusing to refund my account and pay for shipping on the return. I provided proof via pictures and via email and Devin Patterson confirmed receipt of the pictures. I've heard nothing afterwards. I even provided my phone number so they could call me. Nothing!

Your Desired Resolution:
$157.44 and if they want them returned a prepaid shipping label.

order was never filled

"Ordered shoes five business days ago, and the order was never filled. Contacted customer service, and they said orders took an additional 5-7 business days to ship after their "partner" actually fills the order.

I canceled the order. Was told by customer service that the order could not be canceled as it was "in process". I will refuse the package. Do not buy from The Walking Company.

Hope you get your shoes. I didn't!

"I ordered a pair of shoes that were promised to be processed within 3 days and shipped within 5-7, with an email confirming shipment.

Well, it's been 7 days and the order has not even been processed, so it looks like this site is a scam.

Their Customer Service Department did answer within 24 hours, so that's good, but Melissa just re-typed the information from the product page, so, that was useless and a waste of time for everybody.

I should have stuck with Amazon...

Flexibility Required

"I've bought their shoes for years. A year ago, I purchased three pair and two pair of insoles. January of 2021 I order $85 3DCustomized Orthotics (that I've been wearing) and wore them for ten days and gave up because one foot was in pain and my toes were numb. My hope my foot would adjust never happened. When I called to return them, they said No Go. My soles were worn, the said, and my idea of sending them back so they could see the right insole was shaped with a higher arch - the source of my pain. When asked if they would at least give me a discount, the woman on the phone said she could do 10%. I declined because I decided to do this review instead. The shoes have been fine so this rating applies only to the 2D Customized Orthotics (abeo)."

Horrible Rewards Program!

"I have been buying shoes from Walking Company for two years (total of $2,000 worth of Shoes). I thought it was about time I received a coupon from them for a free shoe and I went to a store. They told me I would get an email once I purchased enough. After digging through the dozens and dozens of emails they sent me for sales, I found one for a free shoe pair. What the walking company does not tell you is that if you do use coupon within a certain window, you forfeit all your points. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEN AGAIN. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN AN EASY FIX FOR THERE CUSTOMER SUPPORT TO MAKE BUT THEY DID NOT CARE TO RETAIN CUSTOMER."

COMPLETE RIP OFF

"Purchased a gift card for my wife for Christmas so she could have her feet scanned and purchase shoes at the local store.

Tried to go on 1/16 and all the stores but 3 are closed.

Called to get the gift card refunded and they refused saying we can purchase on line.

How is she supposed to be fitted properly on line?

No problems returning defective shoes

"I recently bought a pair of Dansco Peggy hiking shoes through thewalkingstore.com. I wore them 12 times until they started breaking down causing extreme pain and swelling in my small toes. The shoes were constructed in a way that caused pressure points that got worse the more I wore them. I returned the shoes with a detailed letter about the defect and received a refund in about 10 days. Great experience!"

Unreasonable and unrealistic return policy!

"I purchased a pair of shoes that claimed to relieve pain. I put them on and took a short walk around the neighborhood. I can only do short (less than 1/4 mile) walks. I was hobbled for the rest of the day, the new shoes were causing this excess pain.
I wiped the shoes down, repackaged, paid for shipping, and returned them within a few days. The shoes were returned to me stating that they had been worn. Had I not worn them, how would I know if they would fit correctly or be comfortable?
I appealed to them, to only get an answer stating "that's our policy"
This was my first and last transaction with this company.
I will use another shoe selling company that has a more realistic and reasonable return policy.

"I purchased two pair of shoes totalling $300 and needed to return one pair because they didn't fit and the vendor makes the customer pay for shipping. I wouldn't buy from this vendor again. There are too many vendors that let you return without paying shipping fees. Zappo's is one I love."

Horrible return service

"I returned a pair of shoes that was over the 30 days, however, before I returned them I had spoken to customer service and explained the situation. and got approval to return. Went out of the country for a week and when I return I find the same shoes were sent back to me with a letter stating that I can’t return because of time lapse. I purchased these at the Ft Lauderdale store ,which is far away from me. Very disappointed! I spent money on the return and they probably didn’t even read the notes that should’ve been in the system. "
