"After reading reviews on this site, I was hesitant about ordering, but after Horchow and Neiman Marcus discontinued selling the coffee table I wanted, I was left with little choices. TDRS and one other website carried it, but with the free shipping I was really tempted. I called ahead and confirmed that they charge your card at time of purchase/ not time of shipping. After I placed order, I recieved e-mail with tracking number about 2 weeks later - shipping company was able to work with me and have driver call me 30 min. before delivery so I did not have to take personal time off from work. Driver even carried table up my nightmare staircase. Product was perfect. Was glad I took a chance on this company, I wonder if the same amount of people who wrote negative reviews, also write positive reviews for companies when things go smoothly. "

"My purchase at this store was one of the worst shopping experiences I have had. The website and purchase were easy enough, but I tried several times to contact the Dining Room Space to check on the status of my order. The website and confirmation email stated that processing takes 5-7 days and would ship out after it processed, with 10-14 days for shipment. After over 2 weeks I contacted customer service for the status of my order through email a couple of times and got no reponse, AT ALL. I called and got very little help. Over a month later, the shipping company contacted me to schedule a delivery, the items were not delivered until December. When the items were delivered, the dining table was seriously damaged. From the looks of the table, it appeared as if the table was broken before shipment, we refused the table portion of the shipment. Also, the Dining Room Space did not include the hardware to put together 2 of the chairs, so we had to request that as well. The shipping company was great in trying to help us out, but the Dining Room Space was not at all helpful. In our discussions with them, they were not accomodating, nor did they even ship out the replacement table or chair hardware in a timely manner. It was not until another month or so before we got the table and chair hardware. The whole process from order to actual receipt of undamaged merchandise took around or over 3 months, which is ridiculous. The Dining Room Space did not offer any discount for the purchase or for future purchases, and there is no way I would ever purchase merchandise from this company or any of its affiliates. The customer service was beyond poor, by first not contacting me after several attempts at contacting them, and then not facilitating the shipment of the furniture we purchased initially and after we received damaged furniture. The delivery company was great, and was helpful when they delivered the products and helping us to return the damaged goods. I have considered contacting the BBB relating to this purchase with the Dining Room Space and RJD Stores. Very Dissatisfied customer. "

"This company is absolutely horrible. They charged my card on the day of my order. 2 weeks have gone by. I left them 3 emails, and 2 voicemails asking about the status of my order, with no calls or emails in response. I finally called and got someone in customer service, that told me that my coffee table was backordered. I asked why I wasn't notified, and why my card was charged on the day of the order, no real answer to that. I asked, "what if my table is backordered for 6 months? You have my money, yet I have no table?" No answer to that either.

Stay the hell away from this company, and yes, just like every other person that commented here, I wish I had read the reviews prior to ordering.

These types of companies give all other ecommerce companies a black eye.

"After reading many negative reviews i was leery to purchase from this site. I called and spoke with a gentleman named ralphie who assured me that customer service and shipping were improved. I figured I was protected with my Amex and purchased an American Drew dining set and also found a vanity on their other site- thebathroomdepot.com. I was told i would receive my set in 2-3 weeks. In 12 days the shipping company Sun Delivery followed up for an appointment for the next week. Although they arrived a bit late to my home (9pm) they were very professional and helpful. They put everything together and removed all of the debris. All in all despite my hesitation, everything turned out fantasticly"

"I would not recommend purchasing from the Dining Room Space or any RJD affiliate. They falsely identified the product I purchased as in stock when it wasn't and then after cancelling the order then still shipped it and charged me. Many hours were spent getting them to accept responsibility even with written proof. Still dealing with it two months later There are more sophisticated e-retailers, don't risk it just to save a few bucks here. FYI - this is my first bad review of an e-retailer ever, so that should say something."

"wow. i wish i had seen this too before i ordered from there. where to begin? Of course, my dining set was back ordered as well and I did not get an email telling me that. After I called, I was told. I was never emailed a tracking number or ship date even when it finally did ship. I had to call to find that info out. I get an apology and she swears she emailed me and called me to tell me that. Apparently there is a black hole that their emails fall into everytime. Delivery finally comes 5 weeks later, short 2 chairs. Turns out their site doesn't explain that the cost is per chair, so when I thought I ordered 4, I only ordered 2. Besides that, I am not allowed to inspect before signing and when I sign, they won't take back any damaged items anyway. At least nothing was damaged, but I'm still short 2 chairs. Call cust. service again to find out old rep has left company and have to start with the explanations again. I get no return calls, nothing after a claim was filed thru their site and then hung up on when I do call back. Finally get an order taker on the line to reorder to 2 chairs. Am offered a discount over the phone, they take the order, swear I will get an email from them and then guess what--nothing once again. No follow up! What a joke this company is. Shop anywhere else but this place!!!!"

"Terrible experience! Purchased a rather expensive bathroom vanity. Happened to check the online shipping information with the shipping company to find out it was on hold for lack of payment. RJD stores had not paid the shipping company, so the shipping company wouldn't deliver my vanity! A week of chasing, being put on hold, being hung up on, promises of returning calls that never were returned, my vanity was delivered - broken. Will follow up with my experiences with the claims department! "

"I priced a sommerton dining room set on several sites including diningrooms direct and The dining room space had the best price and the best white glove deliveryprogram. I ordered the product on June 19th and it was delivered on July 12th in perfect condition. The delivery people assembled the dining set and cleaned the furniture before they left. It was a very pleasant experience."

"We ordered a coffee table back in May and were supposed to be shipped with 7 business days. After about a month I called customer service to get a status update. They told me they would contact the manufacturer and call me right back which never happened.
It took repeated calls and two months by both my wife and I to finally get an answer on when we would get out item. When we finally received the item, it was damaged. Now it’s been an additional 3 weeks and no replacement has been sent yet. And every time we call we get same excuses as before. It’s ridiculous that this site/customer service is run in this manner. I would highly recommend you not to order from the thedinningroomspace.com site.
