"do not buy from this thief. He said he would not refund my money (eventhough he had received my item back) unless I removed negative feedback on ebay. I removed negative feedback and he will not return emails. This has been reported to my credit card company as fraud."

"Unfortunately I have had a disgusting experience with David Wombacher/Camera Hunter. More than THREE MONTHS ago I ordered and paid for an item from him via eBay, confirmed by both the bank and Mr Wombacher, yet nothing has arrived. He has also never had the decency to reply to any of my queries. Someone like him should be stopped from ripping people off. We need to follow any possible avenues towards putting an end to this gross miscarriage of justice. It is more difficult for me because I am based in Cape Town, South Africa, so it won’t be easy to track him down. "

"The Camera Hunter is not a reputable dealer. Placed order with merchant on 1/12. He charged my account on that day and advised that he was mailing the items. They never arrived. He did not respond to emails or telephone call. Filed complaint with State of Washington Consumer Affairs Office. He responded to the complaint but I still after over a month haven't heard from him His name is David Wombacher and trades as The Camera Hunter. Do not attempt to purchase anything from him! "

"Order placed 13 October. Automatic email received confirming order. Credit card charged 17 October.

Since then, nothing.

No goods received. No replies to my emails. Phone number on website not answered on multiple tries on multiple days. No response to many voicemails.

I have filed a dispute with MasterCard who assure me I will receive a full refund. I wonder how many others have reached this point and given up...

Update -

I reached the conclusion that I was not going to get anywhere with this vendor and started a dispute process with Mastercard to recover my funds. I also emailed the vendor to let him know that I was doing this.

I wasn't completely surprised to receive an email from him (my first, except for the autoconfirm of the order) that same day. It was a reply to one of my previous queries sent about ten days previously. He claims not to have received the one detailing my actions with Mastercard.

His version of events is as follows -

He is running a bit behind as he has been in a car accident and currently has a broken hand.
There was a problem with my order; one of the items has had to be backordered from a new supplier (Note - his website showed all the items I ordered as being in stock at that time)
He sent me a previous email informing me of this (Note - I received no such email)

Upon receiving this I sent him a very strongly-worded email demanding a refund and stating that I would proceed with my action via MasterCard if this was not immediately forthcoming. I have now received a full refund from the vendor.

Whether or not you believe the vendor's version of events is up to you, but I've recorded it here out of fairness, along with the fact that he refunded me. However, I certainly won't be dealing with him again.

"Firstly I must explain I live in Australia. My first experience with the Camera Hunter is also going to be my last due to non receipt of goods even though my Credit Card was debited.
5 emails sent to him have not been answered. Having read some other reviews about this seller I don't feel so stupid anymore. I have filed a complaint with E-consumer.com the internet fraud enforcement agency. If enough people that have been ripped off by David Wombacher (the Camera Hunter) file complaints about him, he might get what he deserves. I would advise anyone that is going to deal with this guy to be warned unless you live within driving distance of his place of business.

"Ordering was easy and product (an eyecup) was shipped promptly. Work commitments kept me from using the eyecup for one month or so after the item was received (i.e., outside the stated 14 day return policy). Using the eyecup for the first time I somehow managed to knock the rubber cup of the eyecup off my camera losing it in the process. I e-mailed the owner to advise I wasn't too happy and he responded immediately offering to replace the product. He could have fallen back on his return policy and said too bad but he didn't - instead he offered a replacement. You can't ask for more than that - count me as a satisfied customer. "

I have found David Wombacher (The Camera Hunter) to be an honest individual, concientious of his client's needs and concerned about customer service and satisfaction. His products are the highest quality, his prices sensational. His policy in regards to returns and his history of working closely with his customers to insure their continued satisfaction is exemplary. I found my purchase to be exactly what I needed and actually ordered several more as back-ups. I will continue to use his services. (He will even track down hard to find products if at all possible.) Another qualiy about David that encourages me to continue to buy from him is his sincerity. "It all started off fine, Went through Ebay, Bought a Hoya R72 52mm Filter. Waited for his checkout email, Went through the automated process, Got my email receipt and Transaction was complete.

Shipping was very cheap and Took the usuall amount of time. Shipped in a bubble wrap envelope, Hoya Case was damaged, probably in shipping, But I didn't care my Lens was perfectly fine.

Only problem was, He sent me a 55mm lens instead of a 52mm one (I double checked aswell). So I emailed him back right away asking for instructions or a step up ring compensation (considering the shipping would have cost just as much)

No reply after 2 weeks, So I sent another email, Quoting my original, No reply after another 2 weeks. So I left Neutral Feedback stating my case.

And of course Retaliatory Bad feedback (And a Withdraw request) for me a week later, Saying I wouldn't respond to his emails (Though I did get his first few, why did they not show up now? (Obviously lying))

So hes obviously just one of those feedback Threatening Ebay sellers out there. And I will never buy from him again, thankfully the filter was only 50$ and not a 600-700$ camera.

"I am always pleased with the service. Online ordering can be a little frightening. I have found this site to be very reliable and it's a shame to see so many poor comments. Maybe this site is not reliable? Are there just a bunch of kids on here or what? We need sites like this to be working and accurate or what's the point? "A THIEF, plain and simple. A small-time crook who knows how to fly beneath the radar. Has an automated order-response system that shoots you an email responding to your order as if things are in the works. WRONG!! The whole business is a computer, a phone machine, and a credit card account. He should write a book. Call it "Dishonesty Pays."

He probably never once shipped a product. But hey, I'll bet it pays the rent. GRRRRRRRRR.

"Seemed too good to be true, an online shop selling hard to find (or impossible to find in Europe) items for honest prices with low shipping. So I ordered 4 neoprene lens pouches for a total of $42.30 postage included. A small first order because I'm rather wary.
It's a good job that I am wary because as of today the 10th of march I still haven't received anything. Mr Wombacher (the owner and boss) ignores emails. I think he knows the system, my order is too small to block with my credit card firm (it would cost me more to block the transaction than the cost of the order)so he knows that all he has to do is sit tight and ignore.
So here I am doing what I never do, complaining.

Avoid this seller unless you live within driving distance and would thus able to go to his office and thump him on the nose.
