"I buy a lot on the Internet, but TheDigitalExpo.com has been the worst experience ever. I never had to deal with anybody so rude before. They either hanged up on me when I tried to track my order or even threatened me with some additional charges.

I asked one rep for his name, but he wouldn’t give it to me. When I asked to talk to his manager, he claimed to be the owner and told me that he cancelled my order. When I told him that I would post my experience with his company on this web site, he said that he didn’t care and that nothing affected them anyway. “We own the country so regardless of where you try to buy this camera, it will still come to me!” – was his answer.

He also told me that he’s going to charge me a 20% cancellation fee, although it was the owner himself who cancelled my order. I called the Issuer and started a dispute process. I work in the payment industry so here is some info that could be helpful to everybody.

Since there is already a charge on my account, the Issuer will do a Chargeback with reason code 30 – “Services Not Provided or Merchandise Not Received”. Note that you have 120 days from the original transaction to do a Chargeback in this situation. Under government’s “Regulation Z” (a.k.a. “Reg Z”), the Issuer will give you a provisional credit and will not use disputed transaction amount in interest calculations.

Watch your credit card account for Merchant’s attempt to charge a cancellation fee. If it happens, you have a right for another Chargeback. It could be reason code 72 “No Authorization” or 85 “Credit Not Processed”, or even one of the Fraud related reason codes. Remember that you only authorized the merchant for the actual sale – the merchant cannot use your credit card number for any additional transactions.

If the merchant attempts to represent the Chargeback without any proof (i.e., it’s “his word against yours” situation), in the majority of cases the dispute is resolved in favor of the credit card holder. The bank associated with the merchant will eat the costs and will then try to recover them from the merchant.

"I wish I would have found this website before I had made my purchase. It completely boggles my mind how this “company” if they can even be called one, is legally allowed to stay open. I don’t understand how everyprice.com could have ALL positive reviews about this company. Looks like there is a deal between the two companies b/c there is nothing positive about digitalexpo.com. I had made a purchase through digitalexpo.com. As every other review posted before mine, I received an email stating to call to confirm my order. So I call for several days, even calling during operating hours but get answer machine saying they are closed. Finally get a hold of a rude man today on the phone. He asks me what camera I bought... and then I get transferred several times. A man finally gets back on the phone (not sure if it’s the same one) and is very short with his responses. He asks the billing address zip code and my name? Doesn’t make sense. He doesn’t ask any other questions. He tells me that the camera is out of stock and tries to hang up the phone. I stop him and tell him that I didn’t even give him my confirmation #, and he stated that yes I did. I told him that I did not, he proceeds by asking me how old I am and if I’m on crack... and then hangs up on me? I then call back 4 more times... I call customer service and the line for order questions.. and the same man picks up. I ask to speak to a manager.. the man says he’s not in and hangs up. This happens a couple more times. I finally have my husband call in, and he got hung up on. My husband finally gets a hold of the man without getting hung up on, asks him about our order # and the man responds by saying he told him 4 times the ordered has been cancelled and hangs up! I’m just worried about my credit card being charged from previous posts. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!!!!!! Major major scam. Looks like it’s an in house business operation with one man running the show with a name change every several months. How is this business still open?"

"SCAM! Same as many other's experiences. Called to confirm camera order, was told the battery would last only 20 minutes... yeah right! I stated the manufacturer states the battery lasts for 350+ shots. He says "Simple yes or no question, do you want the battery for $80 or not?". Of course not. So then I stated, "this is a factory sealed item as I was led to believe by your web site right?" He hesitates and says "no, not for this price, do you want a brand new one for $80 more?" I stated their website says nothing about this being refurbished. He stated a few rude comments, canceled my order, and hung up on me! I have never dealt with such a rude dishonest company in my life. I even tried calling back to speak to someone else about it, and the first words out of the (different) person's mouth was "I am not here to argue with you". I said "me either, who's arguing?". Then he hung up on me. What is going on here? You would think if they would get more scams by at least being polite about it!"

"Used Thedigitalexpo to buy a camera. called in to confirm the order. After frequent sales pitches, they finally gave up when i said that i only need the camera and not any accessories. They said camera would be shipped. called in a week about the order. told the camera was backordered for 6 weeks!!! they said i could cancel the order if i wanted to and before i could inquire they hung up that time and three follow up calls. A VERY UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY. THEY SHOULD BE BANNED FROM SELLING CAMERA.. ARE YOU LISTENING CASIO? SONY? CANON? ETC. I wish i researched them first before purchase. AVIOD THIS COMPANY!!!!"

"Had same nasty experience that others had concerning this seller. Ordered a camera, email tells me to phone them ASAP. I do and the guy says that the camera is refurbished and if I wanted to buy the new one, I can buy it at a price that was higher than normal retail. I mentioned that nowhere on the website did it say that the camera was refurbished. He replied, "I don't have to mention it". Then he goes on to pressure me to buy an SD memory card at a crazy high price and/or to buy the new camera. I say I want to cancel my order. He says ok and abruptly hangs up on me. Do NOT buy from this vendor. He is bad news."

"This site is a fraud. They ask to confirm the order and then the high pressure sales pitch begins. They tell you the camera is discontinued (it isn't) and even though the discription includes things like batteries, chargers, and memory cards they claim you have to pay extra for them. The final price of the camera is much higher than other merchants. Beware."

"Wow. I dont know where to start. I will make it brief. I tried finding out about a camera. They said they will only sell it to me if I buy the accessories. They asked me why they should sell it to me otherwise? After all, they are making the money off of the accessories. I said...you should sell it to me because it is listed on your website and I could technically purchase it online instead of through the phone. They said they will cancel it then. Also, they claimed that only they and god had the camera for this cheap a deal. What low-lives. I hope they get shut down fast."

"same as everyone else.... called to confirm order and got the rudest salesman, trying to tell me that i needed all this other stuff for the camera to work which it doesn't.... he then proceeds to tell me that this camera is a refurbished model and not a new one.... i told him that nowhere on the website does it mention that its a refurbished camera... he then tells me that i need to learn how to read!?!?!?!? i would suggest that as many people as possible report this company to the better business bureau... online

"Ordered a camcorder and was asked to call back to confirm. Did that, left a message. Never got the recorder. Called to see if it was shipped and it was not. The rudest customer service person I have ever run into. Actually told me he didn't care about my order or me! I will NEVER order from them and buyer beware with this company!!!"

"very bad company. After ordering a digital Jvc camcorder, I had to call and verify my order. Once on the phone they tried everything to get me to buy a extended warranty, extra battery etc. They were not happy when I said no to everything but reluctantly placed the order. After not receiving anything for 2 weeks (email, phone call, camcorder, etc) I called. I was told the item was on backorder and they had no clue when the item would be available. When I informed the sales persons a email or phone call regarding would have been appreciated, he just hung up on me. Five minutes later I receive a email stating my order was canceled. The company may sell items cheap, but if you never receive it, I guess it doesn't matter how cheap they advertise."

"These guys are not legit. After you enter your order in their web-site, they will ask you to call them directly in order to confirm your order (strange practice - I thought). After a couple of minutes, I found out why --- They will obligate you to buy more accessories and if you don't comply, they will cancel your order. These people are like the guy that sells stuff out of the back of their truck, Van or in the alley. These guys are not to be trusted. BUYER BEWARE !"

"Unfortunately before I ordered a Sony camera from these monkeys, I found only good reviews about them. Of course after 2 hours of placing the order, I was called by them. I put them on the speaker phone, but it seams that they hate speakerphones because I was told:" The order was cancelled" without any reason. And of course this rhesus hung up. I called back to find out who is playing monkey business with me and the same non-human primate said that it is not in stock, order was cancelled and hung up. Well at least I stropped any payments towards these Neanderthals and filed a complaint at the BBB. "

"Wow! I don't think I've ever encounted anything like this. Once I placed my order, I had to call to confirm. Phone etiquette clearly is not a priority with this company. "Can I help you?" is what the guy said, then he asked for my order number. He put me on hold immediately after I gave it to him. The next guy comes on the line with the same monotone, painful sounding voice... "Can I help you?"... "what's your order number". I told him then he says, "That's a refurbished model, do you want to pay $50 for a brand new one?". Or course the "refurbished" part was not indicated anywhere in the product detail. When I told him this he said "Why don't I just cancel your order and make it easier for everyone" and hung up. Before I could ask for a confirmation number, the jerk hung up. That was it. I had to call back and relive the whole "bad attitude" experience a second time to get a cancellation number. They are dishonest and rude. I would not EVER buy a thing from these jerks! And recommend no one else does either!!!"

"A complete disgrace. Tried to sell me more things I did not want or need. Tried to sell me a $180 SD card I can get for $30. Then told me the charger only lasts 20 minutes. Told him I didn't care. Mumbled something I didn't understand, then said it would be shipped and then abruptly hung up. I wasn't sure what to think. Emailed them to check on a tracking order. After 5 emails, I got a response telling me Peter Pan waived some Pixie Dust and my camera flew right out of stock and then told me it would be 6-8 weeks before they got any in. No mention of this in my conversation the night before. He then said they would email again when and if the camera was in stock again. First, he tells me they will have it in 6-8 weeks and then he says they will email IF they get any in. If you are going to lie, try to be smart about it. Cancelled my order and the credit card. I would not refer this "business" to people that I despise. One question, how are these guys still in business?"
