"I called customer service (Robert) on Tuesday to ask about the differences between two Hakko soldering stations. Robert or I couldn't tell from the descriptions so he emailed Hakko and had an answer for me next morning (Wednesday). I placed my order that afternoon and received my soldering station Friday afternoon. I couldn't be happier. That said, the Hakko FX 888D-23Y is everything the other reviews state relative to how well it works.
