"I ordered a 500GB Seagate USB drive. After reading reviews on this site warning of problems with used equipment, I reread the fine print on the Sybercom site and learned the drive is "recertified." I would not buy used equipment under any circumstances unless tricked, I believe this is somewhat deceptive. "I ordered a 500GB Seagate external drive.

My order was processed in a timely fashion with the obligatory confirmation e-mail. I also received my order within the promised time frame.

Due to an apparent oversight on my part, I thought I had ordered a brand new drive when in fact I had just purchased a refurbished one. "Seagate Certified Repair" says the sticker. Certified being the key word.

Feeling hesitant, but needing to go forward with backing up data for a reinstall, the drive was put to work. Data was successfully transferred to the drive at which point it promptly FAILED and the data became unrecoverable. Attempts were made with multiple computers to access the drive to no avail.

I downloaded and filled out their RMA form which I emailed to the address they had listed for returns. It came back as undeliverable. Turns out you have to respond to the confirmation email to get through.

Adding insult to injury. . .Sybercom DOES (like many websites) have a clearly stated policy that there is a 20% restocking fee and customers are responsible for shipping on ALL returns. UNLIKE most websites, they stick firm on the return shipping fee even in cases where the product was CLEARLY defective due to no fault of the consumer. (I was able to avoid the 20% restocking fee)

All in all I am out $13 AND a wealth of data and time.

I did NOT order my next backup drive and will NOT order anything else from a company that DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THE QUALITY OF THEIR PRODUCTS."

"decided to buy from sybercom when neweeg was on back order for the PNY quadro4 graphics card I needed to build a friend a computer. I called ahead of time to make sure that the card was in stock and was quite pleased with the quick answer of the phone. The lady was quite polite and even called me back after she went to confirm that they did indeed have the card in stock. With that experience and the rating given to them here on RR i went ahead and ordered. Granted I ordered from three other vendors the same night and with the same CC. Well after over a week had passed I decided to call and find out the status only to be told that they had sent an email on 1/29 that the credit card bill to did not match the ship to address. We saved every email pertaining to these transactions and never recieved another letter other than the confirmation of the order. Lady, polite again (cant fault that) offered to try to rerun CC tomorrow and if good would ship, but still ground, five more days to deliver. I don't think so. Cancelled order and reordered with Newegg which now has item in stock. Sorry sybercom, I always like to give the little guys some business but if you can't even afford a phone call to let people know of a problem then I guess you should get this bad rating. I doubt I'll try your service again. Too bad because you had a decent rating. "

"One of the few places that had a motherboard/cpu compu that also used the same memory that I already have(pc133).

I got a 1.3ghz Duron+chaintech 7aja mb for 75 shipped ground. i recieved the stuff one week later just as expected.

I did have a problem ordering online. No matter where I was at (work, home, fathers house) and what type of pc i tried(old laptop, new laptop, MAC) I kept haveing a security decryption problem. I have never had any problem like this before.

I ended up calleing and placed my order, with no problems. The item was shipped on the same day.

The motherboard or CPU seems to have failed...no boot or post or beeps. I will try to contact them and use the warranty I bought extra.

After checking the board over I noticed that a couple of the capacitors had leaked. I called and the CSR found a suitable replacement board (ECS K7VMA) for my CPU and Memory needs and gave me an RMA on the spot. I shipped the board priority mail today,@$8.00.

Just got my tracking info for the new MOBO. It shipped yesterday (8/23/04) by Fedex Ground and is expected to arrive on 8/30/04. That's a little dissapointing considering I shipped it priority mail. Maybe it will make it sooner.

MoBo Arrived yesterday as expected. Slaped everything together, updated my drivers and I am running smooth again. I want to find out if my warrenty is still good for the rest of the year with this new board."

"I ordered 2 AMD combo motherboards and got them the very next day! This was after spinning my wheels for 2 weeks at two different Signal Hill companies (let's not go there). I have done business with Sybercom in the past, but had forgotten the great prices and shipping times they have. From now on this company will be my 1st stop for shopping.

Update: The motherboards I purchased were advertised by Sybercom as having VIA chipset 686B and this is NOT true. The chipset is 686A which often has the infamous Windows98se shutdown problem (and definitely does in this case)."

"I ordered a pair od Maxtor SATA hard drives for a new PC I was building. They had the drives for $30 less than Newegg (my usual reseller)! They came in 8 days later, which is a bit long in my opinion, but not horrendous. They were exactly as I ordered, and packed straight from Maxtor. They both worked great, and didn't have any problems with the transaction. Overall, a good reseller, but the shipping was a little disappointing. I'd still go back to them to save $30 on a drive though!"

"I ordered a motherboard combo from Sybercom, the 1.1 Ghz Duron, fan, and Chaintech 7AIAO board. I received it well packaged. I have ordered serveral times with them and have always been well pleased with products and service. This time I had gotten the system completely up running Windows ME. I had just installed onboard sound drivers and everything was running smooth. However, next time I booted system back up I got bios checksum error. I tried running flash utility after downloading later bios bin file. Board would not let me run flash. Called sybercom tech support, after talking to Chiu, he agreed to send me another bios chip for board without me having to send eveything back with an RMA. I got the chip within three days. Plugged it back into the board and everything is up and running again. this is an excellent company with outstanding service. Would highly recommend company to anyone. Thanks Sybercom and Chiu."

"Found them on pricewatch while looking for a DV capture card with specific software. Checked this site for a rating and, WOW, it's obvious why they're rated so high. Ordering on line was a snap and had shipment confirmation email the next morning with tracking.
