They did it right!

"My son recently moved into an older home with a bay window that has unusual measurements, so I decided to give Steve's Blinds a try. Very easy to navigate the website and find some inexpensive window coverings that would fit his window (the size and configuration necessitated ordering 2 side panels and 1 large middle, regardless of who we ordered from). There were lots of choices. Blinds shipped within a reasonable time, were cut exactly to our measurements, work correctly and look great. One of the hanging plates got bent by us in the installation and my husband, who is a perfectionist, decided to order a replacement (even tho it still worked ok) and it was sent out NO CHARGE. We are super pleased with this company."

Gone to the DOGS!!!!

"This company was so much better when it was American Blinds & Wallpaper!!! Not sure what happened, but they have now sacrificed customer service. I recently made a purchase in which I was sent an "item is in production" notice, only to find out several weeks after calling to inquire that the pattern I had selected for 6 rolls was no longer available. OK; but then take it off your website if I can't even order it!!! Then, I received a 2 roll pattern I ordered which was the wrong color scheme as it comes in several. When I called to inquire, I was told they cannot guarantee color due to variations on monitors. Well, this is all well and good EXCEPT you sent the wrong color entirely. I ordered green and you shipped gold. When I contacted the manufacturer from where they had ordered it themselves, STEVE'S was the one who had ordered the wrong skew number for color. I then sent an email to inquire how to do a simple exchange and was sent a reply that they would respond within 24-48 hours. That has now been over 2 weeks ago without any response wheresoever. So, I am done ordering from STEVE'S!!! I can no longer trust reliability and expect at least minimal assistance to rectify their own error. There are other low-cost suppliers out there... find one that meets your needs and AVOID STEVE'S!!!!!"

100% Guarantee??

"Terrible. All I can say is that Steve's Blinds and their 100% guarantee is anything but that. They say that you can return for ANY reason. What they don't say is that the reason has to match one of theirs. As long as your issue is within what they say is their guarantee then you are fine. Their guarantee is actually maybe 75% guarantee. Never again.
Try Budget Blinds or Blinds.com as they guarantee every circumstance regardless of whose error.

Overpriced and lack of instructions

"Standard size blind and quality noting special. Expected better for the price. BTW, plan on watching YouTube videos for how to install them. They don’t seem to think packing instructions is important. "

They’re getting worse

"My first few orders from here were fine. I replaced my old blinds as they broke, so over the last few years I placed four orders. I recently decided to add new blinds to four windows in my living room. I ordered three at once, and one larger set later the same day. My shipping estimate was about two weeks later on 8/9. By 8/19 nothing had shipped, and getting ahold of customer service is a joke. I asked for an updated ship date, and received nothing until the first order shipped several days later. Unfortunately, they sent this shipment to Plainfield IN, not Plainfield IL where I live, even though I looked back at my order confirmations and both clearly say Illinois. FedEx does not allow the receiver to change the delivery address, so I had to contact Steve’s to do that... so you can imagine it’s delaying the order. The second order shipped finally, except they also sent that one to Indiana instead of Illinois. So for now I continue to wait..."

Horrible communication

"I ordered 3000.00 worth of plantation shutters and paid for them over a month ago, nobody can tell me the status of the order, they say they were shipped but they have no tracking number.. I have asked for contact info for Steve, the owner via customer service and received no response.. Horrible customer service! If I cannot get the truth tomorrow 5/31/19 I will cancel payment and see if that gets me some answers.
My advise ( Beware)
And read the reviews, I wish I had..

Faux Vertical Blinds buyer beware!

"I have to custom order verticals blinds 83x 93, went with a Faux wood look. When we installed the wand to these blinds was white, so it sticks out like a sore thumb. When I contacted them they said they only have white, even in the stores the faux wood blinds come with wood look or clear. Very disappointed this white wand looks terrible. "

Misleading

"We ordered the Good Room Darkening Blinds from Steve's Blinds & Wallpaper. It was disappointing to receive them. I put the blinds up and there was no room darkening whatsoever. It was a one-ply piece of fabric that you could see through. I could have gotten the same cheap blinds at a local store for a lot less. When I called and emailed, I was told that they won't darken the room. I needed to order the blackout shades to do that. What a scam! At least change the name Good Room Darkening Blinds. That is misleading and false advertising. I would give zero stars if it was a choice. The customer service that I received was poor. I am still waiting to hear back from them after they requested photos be sent to them."

Wonderful response from Steve's Blinds

"Yesterday I wrote a review and alerted customers to get a sample of the shades because the shades came in and the color was not what my wife and I had expected. It was totally my fault for not asking for a sample which had been offered by the intake person. Today the manager called regarding my purchase and was willing to do everything and anything to satisfy my wife and me. It was most gratifying to get a large company to be interested in my comment. We ended the conversation by my telling Josh that he had made a customer for life with us. Certainly felt that the company truly cared for its customers and the satisfaction of the customers. Once the shades were installed it looked fine. Roger L, Saco, ME"

Great Company - Steve's Blinds & Wallpaper

"We have moved several times and always used Steve's Blinds and Wallpaper. We have purchased levolor cellular and mini blinds. We have also purchased a lot of Thibaut wallpaper . They have the best prices and service. We also receive our blinds and wallpaper very quickly. We like that it is a family owned business. One time we had an issue with our wallpaper order and they fixed it right away with no questions asked. Doesn't get much better than this. We have used several other on-line sellers of blinds and wallpaper but no one has better pricing or service. "

Solid Polycore Shutters

"Very poor quality, panels were not square causing rubbing on the bottom of the frame, broken and split control rods de-laminated vanes and split rails where staples were installed. Customer service was good, as they replaced both shutters with new, but even the new ones were not very well made as on was out of square and a cracked center rail. The savings were just not worth the work required to install and reinstall. I guess blinds would be OK, but plantation shutters are just too complicated to take a chance on."

"I was a little worried reading some of the reviews since this was my 1st time using Steve's Blinds, but we received the blinds as promised. The blinds looked great and were as expected, not to mention quite a bit cheaper than lowe's/home depot, etc. Very Satisfied!"

"I ordered (3) three blinds on May 31, 2015. I received my 2 of the 3 blinds at the end of July. I'm still waiting for my 3rd blind. When I spoke to the many customer representatives over the couse of 3 months, I was told misleading information with respect to the status of my order. When they finally accepted responsibility, they informed me that Bali was backed ordered and continued to give me shipping dates that came and past. As I stated earlier, it took 2 months to receive 2 of the 3 blinds I ordered. I'm still waiting. In each case, the customer representatives were not friendly nor helpful."

"Strongly suggest you choose any other company then this one to buy from. Steve's Blinds website is full of false advertising and misleading claims. Left a long review on Yelp, only to have Steve's have it removed. Ships in 10 days is a false claim. 100% satisfaction guaranteed is a false claim. The retail prices that they quote, nothing but made up."
