"Ordered a riding helmet and paid for three day shipping. It supposedly shipped on Tuesday September 2, 2014, it arrived the following Monday after I requested a response for the non delivery from the Company. I got a terse response that stated I received this item on Thursday. An untruth and I find it offensive that they think it is okay to be dishonest."

"Never again! I was lured in by a "sale" on easyboots. I Put in their promo code, paid for 2 boots. One week later received one boot, no indication of back order on invoice. Called State Line Tack, was told other boot is on back order! Why did it say in stock when I ordered online? Second boot shipped Fedex pony express apparently, estimated 10 days to arrive. I could have paid $10 more elsewhere and had them in a few days. "

"I have ordered from State Line Tack a handful of times. The prices are mid range and the selection okay. After ordering some small things, I decided to purchased a saddle. The website said it would be delivered xx date. Days later their site showed the saddle as delivered so I called to see about the order. They said it was on back order and could take 4 to 6 weeks to arrive. When I asked why my order on their website said the saddle had been delivered, the representative hemmed and hawed. Growing annoyed, I asked to cancel the saddle. Since it would take 4 to 6 weeks to be delivered, this shouldn't be a problem. The representative hemmed and hawed some more, and promised a return call. Four days later the saddle showed up.

Fast forward to the order below. I placed a large order for breeches on behalf of some friends. Four hours later, I realized there were two extra pair. Their website offers no option to modify your order and their call center was closed so I sent an email, requesting to cancel those two extra pair.

I received a reply that starts as all their messages do:

Thank you for taking the time to contact Statelinetack.com. We strive to offer you a superior shopping experience with dedicated and personal customer service.

Saying you strive for an superior shopping experience and actually offering a superior shopping experience are two different things.

Point and case: Five days later a box arrived with four pairs of breeches, none of which were the two pair I asked they cancel. I emailed them right away and then called them when their call center was open. I was told the breeches could not be canceled because there was a tracking number and a free return shipping label was sent.

Two days later I got a reply to my email that my issue was resolved. Does this mean the pants were canceled? I called just to clarify what this meant. Since, a previous rep had agree to send me a return shipping label, I didn't dread the call. A simple question, a simple answer.

Nope. After reading the notes, Jaime started to educate me on my failure to understand their system. She asked for clarification, but with answer already in mind. She knew I was wrong and rather than continue in this way until I was angry, I said I'd rather just explain things to a manger. She told me no, not as directly, but no is no. I asked for her name and any identifying information. She refused. I mention that I had planned to write a letter to the corporate office (recommending they add a feature to their site that allows customers to edit their shopping cart. ) Not understanding, she suddenly became helpful. Nevertheless she excused the bad service because they place orders with a manufacturer. Which had nothing to do with my original question. Eventually, she placed me on hold to call somebody to find out that the shipment had been delivered. What online retailer does not update their tracking? I mean the first thing I did when I got the cryptic email was log into their site to see what my order status was.

If you call State Line about an order, do not trust anything they say, unless they put you hold. They have to call the manufacturer to know whether your order has shipped. Also, if you decided their prices are so great their service doesn't matter do not sign up for special discounts. Just clear your browser history and type their site into Google. You'll get 20% off your entire order as opposed to 10 or 15 percent their spam will claim is special savings for a loyal customer.

"My online order was not confirmed nor showed up on their website under my orders. I also paid extra fir 3 day shipping. Their customer service sent me my order number but no details of what I ordered or the shippin or delivery date. I sent an e-mail and the reply said I had already been helped which was not the case. It is 3 days later and still no answers of whether what I ordered had been shipped.
I will definitely not shop there again

"I ordered a saddle pad and after 2 weeks they emailed me that my order was canceled and no longer available. Obviously from the other reviews this is normal practice. "

"Statelinetack.com representative seemed very nice in assisting to identify the item I wanted. However, when the item showed up incorrect due to the wrong identification of the rep they insisted I pay return shipping on top of the shipping I had already paid. I was notified by a different rep that is their policy even if it is their fault! I had used them in the past with only occasional minor annoyances like canceled orders due to out of stock items even though they show it in stock, but This is my LAST purchase from them."

"I wouldn't order from this bunch ever again! I made an order and they sent a confirmation email and 2 weeks later canceled my order. They still have the item I ordered listed as available for sale after telling me it was not available any more. I think they just want to get your information for resale!"

"I ordered a case of fly spray for our barn. Arrived as scheduled. Then I receive the same order a month later. I thought they were just being generous and sent me another since I was a first time customer. Received another shipment 30 days later. I thought this is crazy, why do they keep shipping me free stuff. Come to find out they went into my account and turned the auto ship on for every 30 days and were charging my credit card without my consent. I talked to them about it and they said the previous shipment was past the 30 day return policy and that I would have to go into my account and turn the auto ship off to keep from getting more fly spray. I told them I never turned it on in the first place. They said sorry, you'll just have to turn it off and pay for the shipping to return the most recent shipment. They are fraudulent, don't buy from them. They are swindling people for their own gain."

"I used to buy from State Line ALL THE TIME. However, it had been about 4 years since my last purchase with them. I made my recent purchase 2/12/13 because they were offering free shipping on orders over $100 and I needed to get new chaps and boots which were well over that amount. Dover didn't offer free shipping and SmartPak didn't have the boots or chaps I wanted. I also ordered a pair of breeches they had on sale.

EVERY SINGLE ITEM HAS ARRIVED ON MY DOOR SEPARATELY. I'm not complaining they are arriving separate... but I found out why this was when I decided to return the breeches since they ended up being too big. They have a 30 day return policy. I got the breeches on 2/16... so on 2/18 I called to see how to make my return. They stated I needed an "RA" number and because they breeches shipped directly from the supplier, they had to get PERMISSION from the supplier and get an RA number before I could return them. They told me it might take a few days to get it but they would call me back.

UM WHAT? Their website return policy says NOTHING about their items shipping from a supplier. They state they have a 30-day satisfaction guarantee! In fact it reads "If you are not completely satisfied with an item, you may return it within 30 days of purchase receipt." So they have to get PERMISSION for me to return it? Apparently all of their items ship from separate suppliers so if you need to return or exchange something it is darn near impossible. No where on their website do they state that. BUYER BEWARE! I have a sneaking suspicion that this ordeal is not over. I never heard back from them after 2 days so I called again this morning. They gave me another excuse for why they didn't call back and tried to tell me the supplier that sent the breeches "sends all the RA's to them in bulk weekly". That's a little fishy. It's almost like they are buying time to get me to the 30 day mark where they don't have to return the item!

Moreover, I still haven't gotten any tracking numbers or any of my other items I ordered. I did get my paddock boots I ordered yesterday but so far nothing else has arrived.

"They were super great and super about privacy. I wanted to add more to my order, so I called in. The man was super helpful and asked me security questions (which I was very impressed with). He went through the site with me, figured out my order, and then even posted notes to my order about specific things I wanted done :) this is a brief version of it. Over all, the shipping was way faster than I ever expected it to be (I live in Canada) and they had tracking for my order too. Plus the blanket was already $50 cheaper than anywhere else I looked online (I looked everywhere for days, it was very annoying). I got two weatherbeeta blankets, top of the line (only type of blanket I buy these days) and both were fantastic.

I'm for sure getting my blankets online there from now on.

"Buyer beware. I recently made a huge (~$1000.00)from Stateline primarily because of the low prices listed. One of the items I ordered was the Wintec nextgen 500AP saddle. Being a smaller stature I ordered the 15.75" saddle. This was listed under the horse version of the saddle. There is a pony version listed as a separate item.

When I received the saddle, I realized it was the pony size. I called customer service to arrange a return, and asked them to cover shipping since it would be prohibitively expensive for me to ship and this was not my error. According to them, which they pointed out very dismissively, it was my fault. If I read down to the bottom of the description (which since I generally knew the product I was ordering, I didn't need to read that the saddle was "hard wearing" and "synthetic leather") it said the 15.75" was a pony saddle. They made it clear I was on my own. But I pointed out that there is a separate pony saddle listed, why put the pony size under the horse size? Didn't matter. I was dismissed, and as you can imagine, very upset. A second phone call to a supervisor by my boyfriend (who, not being emotionally involved in my very first saddle purchase) netted absolutely nothing. All the supervisor could keep repeating was ("but the website says" and "the information is from the manufacturer"). The brush off couldn't have been more obvious.

A little bit of digging into other websites showed a totally different story: EVERY other website selling the exact same saddle placed the 15.75" correctly under the pony size saddle, SEPARATE from the horse size saddle. Apparently Stateline either could only lie to get rid of us or couldn't do the most basic of critical thinking.

I ended up at Dover Saddlery and bought the correct size saddle, and they were extremely helpful with not only making sure I got the right saddle, but making sure that the expedited shipping I was paying for would indeed be arriving when I needed it to (particularly since it would be shipping from another location.

I used Stateline based on the recommendation from a friend. A little research into Stateline reveals they are owned by Horse.com who has quite a few reviews like mine with similar outcomes. I'll never use either company again. Their loss of someone who would be willing to spend a lot more money in the future. Dover can have my money now.
