The following is my quick report on a Black Box 6 w/LCD, and Snake Camera upgrade.

The purchase date (9/3/2011) and my delayed reply (1/21/2012) allowed me sufficient time to experience the behavior of this device over time.

My initial impression was that the small DVR presents itself very well - is definitely a nice item and exhibits quality. The rubberized-like casing (exterior) is reminiscent of my earlier Thinkpad and current Alienware laptops – both “top drawer” items.

Like many electronic devices, the unit has a quirk and requires an occasional reset or boot. I do this simply by unplugging it (cold); and after ~ a few seconds, restart. This condition is manifested by the inability to exit “motion detection” and the DVR is stuck on continuous record – indicated by “REC.”

The recorded video when shown (in a much larger format) on the computer screen - is considerably grainier, as expected; although details (like faces) are still easily discernible and definition is quite good – even with minimal lighting.

My final, bottom-line assessment?: I would buy another (and may).

I've only had limited experience with CS/Support, and it was positive – including the exchange and upgrade of cameras. If assistance is needed, a call is answered promptly sans circuitous voicemail.

"I purchased a covert camera with an invisible IR light. The video is of good quality but the fabrication needs improvement. The DVR (inside the fake hard drive case) is not firmly affixed. When it slides down (like when you insert a memory card) it makes using the buttons difficult to access.

The invisible IR is really invisible. Keep you target within 15-20 feet in total darkness.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the product but for the price there should have been more attention to detail. I'd be reluctant to deploy this to people not well versed in its quirks.

"I ordered the WF-100PCX with audio and the 5 foot camera extension cable. This is a wifi pinhole type camera with motion sensing. Shipping was very fast (same day) and tech support was top notch.

Cons: Not really a con but the low light performance of this camera isn't the best but it wasn't listed as having good low light performance. If I wanted that I would have had to order a different unit..."

"I bought on of the CM-5804 pinhole wireless cameras to try and catch a thief at our workplace. The camera produced an excellent color picture at home, but appeared to have some difficulties picking up at our work building, probably due to concrete pillars between the tx/rx. After finding a relatively clear LOS between tx/rx and hiding the camera in the ceiling we were able to finally determine who was stealing, so all in all a success! Should mention that although this camera works well in building light or daylight from a window, it does not work very well in low light conditions (image is too fuzzy).

Camera came just as advertised, arrived on time (was needed in a hurry), and worked as described, so I'm very pleased with this seller."
