would NOT order again online

"I would not order from them again.
I'm pretty dissappointed as they sent the wrong size shoes. I tried to exchange but they indicated they will charge a $10 stocking fee as well as a further $10 shipping fee (on top of the original $10 shipping fee) Definitely gouging clients.
I do most of my shopping online, and I don't think I've ever seen a policy that is so intent on dissuading customers from using their online service.
It 100% to be avoided.

Ordered two pairs of the same runners online, received one USED pair and one new pair.

"Now that I see other reviews that people have received used items through Sporting LIfe's website, BUYER BEWARE!!! The Management don't care if they send you a used item. They just ask you to accept it or send it back.

Untrustworthy place to send USED ITEMS without notifying customers that items are USED!

Did not give me the product, but still took my money.

"I needed an outlet to properly report on the disrespectful and unprofessional conduct of this company, specifically regarding their website and consequently their customer service. I want to highlight that this is not targeted at the storefront, but I thought it was very important to inform other buyers to be VERY WARY about ordering anything from this company's website, as I had a ridiculously terrible experience. And this was the best way I knew how.

The summary is that they took my money without giving me a product because they were sold out, yet charged me for it anyways. They only refunded it back (over a month later) because I contacted them over 5 times by phone. And they tried to make it sound like they were doing ME a favour. At that point it was so late in the sales I could not find the merchandise I was looking for anywhere as it had been completely sold out in ALL STORES (even North Face online), and the customer service reps did not feel that it was necessary to compensate me for my time, stress, or inconvenience except for a measly 15% off **REGULAR PRICE ONLY** coupon. So I really recommend buying from any other website but this one because I think that customer service is just pitiful.

For those interested in the details:
I ordered a North Face parka from the website in mid-February when it was on a 50% off sale. The money came off my credit card immediately (~$300), and I got an email confirming my order. However, I never received a shipping notification over the next few days. After about 3 weeks I realized that there must have been something wrong, so I called the company with the number they provided on the confirmation email. No one picked up, and I left a message including a number to call me back later that day. The next day they still hadn't followed up, so I called again. No response. I called a third time and FINALLY someone picked up. They said that it still had not shipped and they would look into it and call me back later that day. I still didn't receive a call from them, so I again followed up the next day. When I finally got in contact with the person who I had spoken to previously, they told me they were completely sold out of the product, but that there was no worry because they would refund me my money. I said "of course you would refund me my money, you didn't give me anything for it. The issue is that I wanted that specific parka, and now it is sold out from every single store, not just yours." Again, they just repeated that it was okay, because I would be getting my money back. I told them that that was unacceptable, and I needed to be additionally compensated for losing out on this parka, and also for the fact that they charged me without ANY KNOWLEDGE of their own stock. Had I not been so persistent in following up with their inattentive customer service team, they would have just kept my money forever. And it wasn't exactly a small amount of money! After a significant amount of arguing, they said they would be giving me a 15% off coupon that was redeemable on regular priced merchandise only, and would that make me happy. I said no, and that I wanted a deal that was comparable to the deal I lost out on (50% off). They said that was all they could give me, and that they hoped that would be enough. I said it wasn't, and hung up.

It's clear to me that the Sporting Life team doesn't care at all about what I think of them, or the fact that their conduct has resulted in losing a customer. So I'm sure none of them will read this, or if they do, I'm sure they'll blow it off just like they blew my concerns off over the phone. But I hope I save a few other people from making the mistake I did by taking the time to write all this down.

Terrible customer service..very rude..online delivery used clothing

"Ordered and received a Christmas gift which was a Patagonia jacket. The jacket was shipped without any products tags and looked used.
After conversing with the extremely rude so called 'Customer Service' they claim the jacket 'COULD' be a returned item hence the reason for no product tags. The jacket was purchased as a Christmas gift and my thoughts are a gift should have product tags. After the 5th email to customer service they could not inform me if I would receive a replacement in time for Christmas.

I would never purchase another item from this company and will be sure to inform my colleagues and friends.

Terrible experience.

"I received an email saying my order shipped two weeks ago, but the tracking number says it is 'ready for pickup'. Rude customer service staff, manager unavailable to help, no option to pickup in store or cancel my order. So disappointed, sporting life!!"

Worst Customer Service Ever

"Sporting life claims to ship orders within 24-48h, they shipped mine in 6 DAYS, moreover they made an mistake on parcel label and after 11 days travelling in Canada, my parcel went back to sporting life.
They keep ignoring me, replayed on emails that my reply to support request #006459 has been noted.
Don't know when they going to send my items to me, may be I will receive my winter outfit in summer.

Horrible Customer Service!

"The "Manager" was always "in a meeting or busy or not there" NO ONE could help me with my online order. NO one would call me back when they said they would. I waited over a week, no order was placed. they blamed "PayPal" I contacted Paypal they said that SPORTING LIFE needed to accept the funds to complete the order, THEY were the ones NOT doing their jobs! then the "Assistant manager" (who btw is NOT well suited for this job. She should not be in customer service, and her employees are rude and sound tired or half awake.) Could not help me as she didn't know how to and the general manager that is NEVER there had to do it. so she told me to place my order again. Now I had 2 outstanding pending orders with PayPal. I had to call the store in Calgary and get their manager to call the head office for me to get anyone to help me. I was finally able to cancel my 2 orders and I WILL NEVER EVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN! COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME! YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS OR YOU WON'T HAVE ONE FOR LONG SPORTING LIFE! I will be spending my money at SPORT CHEK from now on!"

Worst after-sale service

"I've sent my winter jacket in for repair under manufacturer warranty in June. It is now October 25 and winter is approaching and the jacket has not been sent back. Email replies take a month each time and they keep giving me the run around saying the servicing department is backed up. I understand this might happen but for it to take 5-6 months and no follow-up is ridiculous. Now they're not responding to my emails and I'm beginning to think my $800 jacket is lost. Why bother having a customer service team when there is none? Why bother having an email when they don't reply? Why should anyone want to purchase from them if there's no after-sale service?"

Worst service of my life

"I wish I read the reviews on this company before I ordered from them. I would have saved myself a lot of trouble. Horrible customer service, takes way too long to ship... I am still waiting for my item to be shipped three weeks later. I asked them to cancel it and they are now giving me the run around about doing that. So frustrating!"

Worst Customer Experience

"This is a real experience, i really hope no one goes through this painful process.

1) February 2nd - I purchased an order for an upcoming ski trip and never received the order until two weeks later until i emailed to follow up and they said they messed up the inventory system and one of the items were no longer available, therefore the rest of the items was held up. I told them, I'm going to be out of the country, so either ship the rest of the items to me earlier or just cancel my order. They couldn't ship it earlier because they have a 10 day policy, which they could have avoided if they contacted me earlier about not having their inventory system in check. I then did not have time to purchase what i needed for my overseas trip and had to pay a premium at a the resort. I told them to just cancel everything.
2) Feb 13 - i then got an email that the order is now shipped and my credit card is charged. So i followed up and they said they then couldn't stop the order from going out of the warehouse (Before they couldnt ship it out in time, and now that i've cancelled my order, they can't even stop the order). I was told to just leave the order, it will be sent back to them and they will refund my money.
3) Apr 4 - It's now been two months and they still have not refunded my money, I followed up with an email, no response
4) April 9th - They send me an email saying, oh it wasn't picked up and now returned to us by Canada Post, do you want us to ship it back to you? (At least you could read into this order, what the dialogues were before and not to highlight your inadequacy)

Customers go online shopping for convenience and efficiency, this was the most inefficient, customer experience I have ever experienced. Sporting Life has a heritage of 150 years and I'd assume customer experience was an important factor in their success, but it seems like it's devalued, or simply not capable to run an e-commerce experience.

I think the most frustrating thing is the lack of communication and why i have to continuously reply emails to explain my situation, just to cancel an order and refund me.

Unsatisfied Customer

"Orders took two weeks to arrive... When it arrived (finally) one of the item has still electronic tag....
Opened an account... Made a wish list... Few days after noticed a dropped in prices but when I added it to my shopping cart and ready to purchase.. The price is back to original price.. Called and emailed customer support few times... They say that the manager advised that they can't honour the amount stated on my wish list...its poor customer experience.

"1) Bad customer service (The rep hang up on me while I am explaining/commenting on my bad experience buying from Sporting life online store.
2) Sporting Life website is not buyer's friendly. Navigating through pages is tasking, i.e. men's shoes has several pages. When I am already on page 6 and select/click one item on that page and wants to go back to page 6 by clicking the back button on the browser ( no other option), instead of going back to page where the item belongs, the site will bring me back to page one!!!!!
3) Sporting Life does not take their customer comments seriously. I already emailed Sporting Life's CS about comments #2 above more than 2 weeks ago, but I don't see any correction/improvement done yet.
4)This statement from Sporting Life Shipping Information and Policies and I quote " Sporting Life will review your order before entering into processing and contact you promptly by email if there are any issues" is not accurate or true at all. My order was placed on Oct. 20, 2015 but I received their email Oct. 27 saying that there is an issue on my order. Is that what they called prompt response?
5) Sporting Life should have a survey where customers can rate their buying experience and write comments after their purchase.
6) I WILL NO LONGER BUY FROM SPORTING LIFE & WILL NOT RECOMMEND THEM UNLESS THEY DO SOMETHING ABOUT MY OBSERVATIONS.
