Don't risk online shopping if you don't live near a location

"I bought a $500 winter coat. It was way too big despite using the measurement charts. It cost me $75 to return it. Contacted Sporting Life to inquire if I could get some sort of credit or discounted shipping rate on an EXCHANGE, but nope. The closest store to me is 2.5 hours away. NEVER AGAIN"

Worst place to shop online

"Never again with this company. Absolutely no customer service. My order was placed about a week ago. Still no sign of any information. No email was send to me. Trying to contact, but no luck."

Terrible online shopping

"I bought something online. They came back that it was out of stock. I thought, ok no big deal, it happens. A couple weeks later I tried to buy something again. After not receiving a shipping notice for 2 weeks I followed up and without actually looking into it, they just said "it hasn't been shipped yet". The next day, I receive an email saying the product is out of stock. So it took 2 weeks to say it's out of stock.

This place is a joke trying to sell jackets for thousands of $ and can't deliver or even provide proper customer service.

"During COVID you would think they would improve their customer service. But no, they sure don’t make you want to buy from them again. Bought a men’s sweater and the arms hang down to the knees. Can’t return in store due to COVID and they want me to pay $18.00 return shipping fee. Will never shop here again. "

"I order equipement and compare with other site. I found a good price and exactly what I want on the site. I reveive my order rapidly and have nothing to said about the product. The site was not the best to order, but normal. I don't have to use client service, so I can't comment on that. For simple purchase, not cloths , i recommend."

"Customer Service has a “NO” response to any question asked of them besides providing erroneous responses to questions. I suggest shopping at Altitude Sports where they know how to assist customers. "

Do NOT order Online

"I made a significant purchase on November 24th and have yet to receive my order. Today is December 14th. Sporting Life issued a shipping label immediately on November 25th resulting in my PayPal account getting charged, however the shipping status on My Sporting Life account shows items as “Not Shipped”! I’ve filed a complaint with PayPal. Sporting Life customer service is no longer responding to my inquiries. Clinging to hope that PayPal will make things right. But I repeat, do NOT order online from Sporting Life using PayPal. Perhaps you’d have better luck disputing a charge like this directly with your credit card company."

Terrible e-commerce experience and customer service

"When all you have is an e-commerce site to keep you in business there are some fundamental things you need to do to make the experience a good one. I made a significant purchase on Sunday and have yet to get a confirmation that the order was received. Got an immediate notification from PayPal that my money was taken but NOTHING from sporting life. I certainly expect shipping delays but I need an acknowledgement that the order was received. It’s been three days and now I need to try and file a stop payment with PayPal. I tried calling Sportinglife customer service but they’re not taking live calls. Unbelievable! The irony of having a department called customer service that doesn’t take calls is astounding. I filed an online ticket as requested and three days later I still don’t have a response. Just want to know if they got my order. My own fault for not reading earlier reviews about similar experiences. So much for trying to support local business. "

Worst online purchase experience ever

"- No price ajustement. Purchased a product a bit before Black Friday. 2 days later the product was cheaper. I have contacted them and they refused to adjust the price.
- Placed another order. It took more than 24 hours to receive n email saying the order was cancel because the product was out of stock.
- Need to pay return with tracking and insurance. I needed to return one item that doesn't fit and they refuse return in store, and they ask to pay the shipping fees with tracking and insurance which cost half the price of the item. How a company that claim to be main online retailer have such a lame policy for customers. that's a shame

Received the wrong package

"I ordered a North Face jacket for my son, shipping was fast (3 days over the weekend) but I received a pair of solomon woman’s hiking boots.
In the package there was a receipt for the shoes in someone else’s name/address.
I have emailed Sporting life 5 times with ZERO response. I call the number and it says that they are email only now and to go to the website for info.
I don’t know how to get my sons jacket for Christmas. It’s been 2 weeks and no one has helped me on this issue.
Side note, what about the woman who got my men’s size XL jacket!?
I bet she’s **** her $200 boots didn’t come in.

Gosh, I am so thankful I didn’t order a Canada Goose or something in that price range. In fact, maybe I should have. Canada goose would be calling them for me if this happened to their product.
Don’t shop with this company again, you can purchase all of the Same products direct from suppliers or The Bay, Sail, Nordstrom, Saks etc.

Never again will a spend a cent at Sporting life.

Tried to cancel an order.

"I ordered a children’s jacket online for $337.00, I tried to cancel the order within 12hours, I sent numerous emails and spent ++ time trying to get a personal son on the phone. When I finally did talk to someone I was told that they have a NO cancellation policy, even though the jacket had not even been processed to be shipped. I was told I would have to receive the jacket and then ship it back. It took 6 days just to receive a notification that the jacket was going to be shipped and 6 days to receive an email from them. I have still not received the jacket and it is estimated to arrived 15 days after I placed the order. This is absolutely unacceptable and I will never order/buy anything from this company again. I will also make sure that I inform everyone I know about this poor business practice."

Disorganized Company

"The first time I purchased from them was a pretty good experience. Got a few pairs of crocs and they arrived within a week to my residence. Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. On my second order, I decide to order another pair of crocs for one of my family members as a surprise! She absolutely loves the lavender coloured crocs and has been talking about them for a while. Since the sporting life crocs are in men’s sizes, I ordered her a size 7 (as she is a size 9 in women’s). Everything was going smoothly. I placed my order and waited for a confirmation email. However, I never got one. Which I thought was odd due to having received one for my previous order. But I shrugged it off and didn’t get too anxious about it. About a week passes by and I never receive an email that it has shipped. This got me a little nervous. Although, the next day I received an email from them that it will be delayed. Which I totally understand. Our world has really been changing at a quick pace and it’s hard to keep up with everything going on right now. So I waited and received the order just a few days after. When I opened up the box though, I received a size 5 men’s. Immediately I thought this is weird, I ordered a size 7 men’s. So I went back to my sporting life account to see my order details and a “no size” bar was on the order of crocs. Which was weird because I did put a size. I proceeded to email their customer service that I received the wrong size. I wish I could attach the email here. They replied that I needed to order a new pair and return my other ones. So I thought ok, I will do that then. However, I went to look at the sizing for the lavender pair and only size 4 and 5 men’s where in stock. Kinda had an aha moment here. It seems as though instead of telling me they didn’t have the size and refunding me they sent me whatever size was available. Which was what actually delayed the order in the first place. Really disappointed in this company. I wish they would of sent me an email. As a young adult who purchases a lot of stuff online (and I mean even off websites like Shein and Zaful) this has been the worst experience. This reflects the company as a very unprofessional and disorganized business. To anyone who is looking to purchase from this company, I would suggest going to sport check, the source (sporting goods) or MEC. And to those who do order at sporting life, I hope your experience is better than mine."

Restock Fees + Long Shipping Times. Avoid.

"Maybe the only major online retailer in Canada to charge shipping PLUS an extra 10 dollar restocking fee. My order from Toronto to Nova Scotia took 3.5 weeks to arrive parcel Canada Post. Your competitors have moved on and used free shipping as a value add, placing the emphasis on the customer and their satisfaction. And they will win for that reason"

Excellent Service During COVID-19

"Despite the bad reviews that I read about ordering from this site online I decided to go ahead and order the item that I wanted anyway. Only one other site had this item in the colour I wanted and it was double the price. I decided to go ahead and chance ordering E Com. Am I ever glad that I did! I ordered my item late June 22 and received it in the afternoon of July 3rd. That’s less than two weeks during COVID-19 when Canada post is taking extra precautions and wait times can be longer. It came packaged with all tags in place. I’m very happy with my purchase and would order from Sporting Life Canada again. "
