Products NEVER work as advertised

"The controls are good but I can never program them as intended. There is always an undocumented step or steps to accomplish what would be (in my opinion) something that should be straight forward. One issue I have is the Mixed environment of X10 from 15 years ago to Insteon now and working through those compatibility challenges is never easy...

Good product just a little difficult to get complexity resolved.

Battery issue

"Purchased the Dome Motion Sensor. Unit was not Starting-up. Noticed the battery had white corrosion or similar substance. Took out the battery and cleaned the device contacts. Still did not work. Installed a new battery, then device worked as it should. "

Great Products and Great Customer Service

"We installed about (30) Insteon products in our home. The Insteon products are not complicated but you have to really follow the directions for it to function. I had a couple of "snags" along the way. When I had a "snag" I called the Support Line. My call was answered quickly every time and my questions were answered every time.
When wiring 3-way and 4-way switches it is critical to look at the wiring pattern in the existing switch prior to removing the wire.
Our lights are grouped and come on automatically and come on to the percentage of brightness which is so important to making our home feel warm.

Smarthome delivers but slowly!

"Smarthome has a great product offering! I would have given them FIVE Stars if the delivery of purchased products would not be so slow. They need to link up with a Logistics Company like Amazon to help them get the product to the consumer faster. I have found that placing a simple order can take upwards of 10 days unless you opt for their pricey expedited service.

I love the product and the support that their staff offers. I am just not a fan of how long it takes once the order is placed and the credit card is charged.

New Hub II

"We moved recently, I had nearly given up on using my Insteon devices after messing with the old Hub at the new house. It worked, then quit. So frustrating. After a couple of calls to tech support, I threw the old Hub out, and just ordered the new Hub II. It didn’t work out of the box, but that was my mistake, as I learned that the account had to be deleted and re-created for the new Hub II. Another quick call and it worked right away. They sent me a list of the devices, but it’s not that hard to just push the set button and reconfigure things. I only had simple scenes so I can recreate those. I’m so glad to be able to turn a few lights on and off, without having to get out of bed. Thanks, Smarthome, for continuing this product support and development. "
