Last year, I booked delivery of some things from Joliet, Illinois to Shenzhen, China through the ShippingQuest website. When it turned out that they could not deliver to Shenzhen and I had to spend thousands of dollars to pick my things up in Hong Kong, I posted some truthful reviews online about their bad service. The two creepy old men who actually run ShippingQuest, the sometime orchestra conductor Winston Dan Vogel and Albert Abramov and their one man "IT Department" Javier "Chaim" Sajnovsky, first threatened me and then bought my personal name as a domain where they put up a website with a photo of me that they stole from one of my online profiles surrounded by sexually suggestive images under the heading "**** Massage." Yeah. I sued them in federal court in Chicago and now have a $100,000 judgment against them. Be Ye Warned. This is not a legitimate shipping company but a scam run by criminals that may not just rip you off but might also steal your identity. "

"They quoted me $400 and after I left the shipment at the terminal at the airport, I begged to pay it. They said they would call. I told them I was booked on a trip to Spain, where I was having personal goods sent for our new home. They said they would. They did not. Fast forward, we are in Spain and they tell us the amount. To be entirely fair, the ShippingQuest experience can be a little, well, dispiriting. Particularly if you don't know what you're getting into. It can also be far more expensive than you were expecting. However, once again, no other Shipping Company is quite so crystal clear on the subject of what it can and cannot do for its customers and how much everything will cost. In fact, ShippingQuest is the only company I found that shows you the quote online instantly, and you can book online. If you're mad at ShippingQuest, chances are you did it wrong. Let's make sure that never happens again, shall we? Here are things you need to know before you so much as Google "ShippingQuest," let alone book a shipment. 1. The Quotes are cheap. Really, really cheap. Let's use New Jersey Terminal to London, UK Terminal. A port to port as an example. The base cost and minimum charge is $199.00 You then have the Bill of lading charge of $75.00. This is for up 1 cubic meter and 1000 lbs. That is simply unbelievable. 2. Contain your excitement. Those cheap quotes will have some more additional charges 3. If your goods are not palletized, well they will be at the cost of $95.00 per pallet. ( Not included in your quote ) 4. Fuel surcharge is always mandatory minimum $70.00 ( Not included in your quote ) 5. The Fuel and Pallet charges are mentioned in your quick guide in your quote and during the booking process that requires you to confirm the booking and possible charges. 6. Your quote contains a cost per cubic feet. If you have more volume the same cost per cubic feet will be applied to the additional volume 7. ShippingQuest has 3rd Party union companies measuring the freight, to ensure to ensure there are no conflict of interest. A documented volume receipt is provided that can be corroborated with the invoice you receive from ShippingQuest Volume is measured L x W x H when all your goods are bundled together on a pallet. You will have more volume and dead space. So your 35 cubic feet can easily be 45 cubic and you will pay for the additional cubic feet. Actually, ShippingQuest does not control the measurements as advised above. They rely on these terminals to measure. And terminals measure freight that takes up inside the container. Not box by box. 6. Always do a cost comparison between service, Door to port and door to door and port to port. I have found that sometimes the pickup charge can be very cheap and I can avoid the hassle of delivering my goods to the terminal. For example, I did a test order for door to port and port to port. Same weight and volume. The port to port was $249.00 and the door to port was $399.00 So for $150 more I get my goods collected. Living in NY just the tolls over the bridge will cost me $45.00 not to mention the fuel and time. So for $150 its well worth it. This is for 35 cubic feet. If you have more you will be charged more. 7. Everyone knows ocean freight is pretty cheap, we wait a few weeks to get our goods and that can be a good thing if you are not in a hurry. 8. ShippingQuest – repeat this, over and over again – is best for cheap shipping where you'll only ship your boxed, palletized or crated goods. 9. I called there office to speak with a customer service agent, I have to be honest, they are quick to answer, they follow through, and they know what they are talking about. I threw some hardball questions, and they answered them fairly accurately.

Otherwise there already discounted price is what you can expect to pay. 12. There is much more to consider when shipping, however, ShippingQuest seems to have it streamlined and a system that is working. Can they be trusted? Sure, they can, they been around for over 15 years. They have a top notch website. And yes there are going to be customer that complain. That goes with every business and industry."

"We just used ShippingQuest to ship our goods from Madison, WI to Buenaventura, Colombia. Everything went as planned. We did the online quote and did the booking ourselves. We were then contacted via email by a rep that walked us through the entire process and advised of possible charges for this booking and at destination. Indeed we had more weight and volume and our invoice increased proportionately but that was expected. We also had our 22 boxed palletized and the fee was $95 as expected.
Once the shipment sailed, they ocean bill of landing was emailed to us and we contacted the agent. The agent notified us when to arrive to the terminal to collect our goods. The agent assisted us with clearing customs and we had some destination fees to pay. The service went very smooth. it is all very clearly explained and we were advised about and also in an email that we had to confirm. We dont understand why people post such horrible postings when in fact most admit to having more weight, more volume. Ocean shipping takes time and the dates are not 100% accurate. We had a delay due to the weather, thats understood.

"I found this website last month. I made a quote with their website and decided to book. Iregardless of what I read online, I decided to ship with them. I don't believe in reviews from other people at face value. I need to experience that myself. The charges that these other customers are complaining about are mentioned in their email. I guess some people doesn't really their email at all and are quick to hammer flaws to all companies they encounter. Anyway, I shipped with them and my stuff arrived to my bff's place in Japan as mentioned in their sailing schedule. Their agent at Japan helped by bff in clearing customs and it was a breeze. Read some of below reviews, this is ocean shipping and it dates are estimated due to weather and port conditions. We did an online booking with ShippingQuest for 2 pallets from NY to Mexico. Everything went great, price, documents, pickup date, invoicing, Sure we had some more volume and more weight and the price was adjusted accordingly, COMMON SENSE! you have more you pay more, anyone complaining about that clearly is a moran, but that is expected from them HAHAHA. The pallets arrive to Jalisco Mexico, we cleared customs and all is in tact. We highly Recommend ShippingQuest because they have it down to a science, no if's or but's about it. All the other companies we spoke to are like Travel Agents from 1990's.

"We shipped a CHARITY consignment from Our Charity Company Project Change. 400 Gifts to unfortunate children. Our quote says 4 weeks, and when we received the invoice, it was double the price. We eventually accepted being promised that the shipment is sent within 15 days of payment, and then it takes 4 weeks. Well the shipment seems to have been sent 24 days after payment, and now we are told it takes 3 months. The estimated arrival is not nearly what they quoted. When you call for a quote, this Company answers very quickly, offering the best service, but try and call to follow up about a shipment, 15-35 minute hold. No Managers ever call you back. Mary and Marge till today, has not told me, when our SHIPMENT sailed. We have sent several emails about this matter, and cannot establish where our shipment is. They refuse to reply or take your calls, and is sarcastic every moment they get. 400 Children who received donated gifts, are left without a Christmas at 2017, and this Company just does not care. DONT LOOK AT THEIR QUOTES, They lie on the quotes to get the business. I see all the other clients with the same complaints, and they always find a way to blame the client. They will reply here and say I paid late, okay, because the charges were rediculous and this after they already collected our shipment. They then state as I mentioned above 15 days from payment it will be shipped. They reply to the email saying, it was sent on the next available shipment? No excuse that it is over the 15 days, and no excuse for the fact that it actually takes 3 MONTHS to ship and not 4 weeks as per their quote. Nothing they say is true, they twist everything their clients write, and this cost us just under $4000, for a charity! We are still completely in the dark, and we are now going to hit them with a law suit. We have given them ample time and opportunity to tell us why they went above the 15 days, and they keep saying we paid late!
