"Sager is a great company for a consumer who needs to rely on a product and service. We have two Sager laptops. They are "built like brick sh*t houses". The cases are rigid and sturdy, and the components are all totally high end. I once got mad about something unrelated to the computer and threw my computer across the room from the couch and it landed on the hard wood floor - and it was just fine!

Although our notebooks are gaming computers technically, we are a law firm and use them for memory intensive eDiscovery and word processing and online research. We don't waste one second waiting for these Sagers to do their job.

I have two graphics cards and the i7 Intel processor. The high resolution and speed is incredible. Ordered a new battery for one of the laptops recently after 4 years, and had to send one in for repair of battery controller on the MB. No problem - fixed and returned to me inside of 7 days. I usually get a new computer every 3-4 years, but don't even have an urge to do so.

Sager's sales and tech support are awesome - you can actually call the company and get someone in sales or service on the phone right away and they will assist you.

"My experience with Sager has been absolutely horrific. In August of 2011, I purchased a high-end laptop for mobile professional video editing (totaled close to $2600). Since then, I have had THREE graphics cards fail. The first time it failed, it was not within the 6-month warranty so I had to pay an additional $600 to have it replaced. I was mortified. The next two times it failed, it was within the 6-month warranty, so thankfully I didn't have to throw another $1200 down the drain. I have had to send the laptop back three times, and each of those times I had to pay $30-$40 to have it shipped. The order was fulfilled by Xotic PC, and they have been equally unhelpful. They refuse to acknowledge that there might be a compatibility issue with the GPU (unless the entire line is defective). They have insisted every time that it is a random failure, and if I have it replaced under the 6 month warranty everything should be fine. What? Really? Three different GPUs (AMD Radeon 6990M) RANDOMLY failed within a 3-year period?? Come on. I don't expect you guys to be the brightest, but I also don't expect complete idiocracy. Each of the three times the GPU has failed, it has been in the middle of a big project. It sets me weeks behind. Had either Xotic PC or Sager expressed even a MODICUM of understanding or willingness to accommodate, I might not be so utterly disgusted. When I asked them what my other options were so that I wouldn't have to keep going through this ridiculous process of getting a new GPU only to have it break in 3 months, they essentially said I had none. I work as a customer service representative for a company with a dominant market share in its industry. I know what good customer service looks like, and in my case, these companies have embodied the antithesis of it. I would be horrified if any of the CSRs treated a customer how they have at my workplace. I completely understand that parts fail (in my case, three). That is not my gripe. My main issue is that they acted like this was NORMAL. They offered no compensation for my shipping costs. They offered no alternatives. They lied, saying that no compatibility issues existed (as well as no global issues with the AMD Radeon 6990M). I am essentially trapped. My only options at this point are these: 1). Abandon the $3400+ investment I have made on this nightmare experience and start over with a different company. 2). Continue this vicious cycle of having a functional laptop for 2-4 months, paying $40 to have it ship when it fails, having to my rebuild my program setup from a wiped operating system, lose 2-3 weeks of valuable project time, and hope that it lasts longer than the rest. To anyone considering buying from either Xotic PC or Sager hoping to use their computer for anything important, I strongly urge you to reconsider. These are by far the WORST companies I have ever had the burden of working with. If you have any problems whatsoever, prepare to have them dance around (and ultimately ignore) the REAL issue. This is the third computer I have purchased in 6 years, and I would gladly recommend both Cyberpower PC, iBuyPower, and Alienware/Dell over either of these companies. My experience has left me so disgusted that I am now considering legal recourse. "

"I purchased an NP8550 with a 6990m and 2.2ghz processor. Was about $2000.

I cannot emphasize how great xotic pc has been. I am horrified at these reviews from people who complain the second a 17 inch laptop with a crossfire GPU and ultra-overclocked processor goes haywire. There are limits to human ingenuity. If you look at the sager's case design, it is impeccable. the heatsinks are perfectly positioned (believe they will apply better thermal compound for $30) to provide maximum airflow. For someone in a high pressure law environment, this sager has performed admirably. I bought it when I was in law school and two years later, while there have been occasional issues with the battery (like all batteries, eventually this one dies too!), it performs admirably. It's amazing how small an incredibly powerful gaming computer can be. This computer has become my bosom buddy of sorts. at 15" I could not get a more powerful laptop.

I spoke to xotic pc twice, once to get a new battery and the other time to fix my keys: they were patient, kind and well-suited to the customer. They are the epitome of what a company should be.

While I cannot speak for sager (and do believe it is based out of china), xotic pc as the middle man does a great job. Chinese products are not bad, btw! The country is only looking to sell products at a rate contingent with the yuan. THAT is why they offer many things at discounted prices.

For my part, I cannot but hope SAGER profits the more.

"Sager is pretty half-assed with their products. I bought a laptop from xoticPC and had a stuck pixel in the center quadrant, which is within their warranty policy. I had it RMA'ed and sent pictures of the pixel, as well as details of how to reproduce the problem and everything. Lo and behold, they sent the laptop back, without fixing any problems at all! The same exact stuck pixel is still there! I'd be wary when buying this brand. To utterly waste my time with this issue is enough for me to recommend against this brand completely."

"The jury is still out on my laptop order. It did not function correctly when received and I am in discussions with XoticPC to get a replacement. Sager tech support could not resolve the issue over the phone. The true test of XoticPC and Sager will be if they stand by their product. "

"This company is NOT Chinese based, and if you actually do any research (by which I mean a quick Google search) you will know that they are based out of California. They build reliable, high-performing machines- and although the looks department has been lagging for the past couple years, their newest models (which can be found on their website) are actually looking very nice!

Performance wise you will never find a better notebook manufacturer, and if you select the same configurations on an Alienware (for example) then you will find that you are doling out at least $1,000 more for some blinking lights. Not to mention that Alienwares have an annoying tendency to leak, burn out, and contain a plethora of issues which the crappy Dell tech support doesn't know how to fix.

I got a Sager NP9150, and I couldn't be happier with it. The 1080p Matte screen with 95% color gamut is just beautiful, and I can barely stand to look at any other screen after getting used to this. The keyboard is also amazing-, and, the best part, it isn't an island-style keyboard which laptops so favor these days. It is customized for gaming, with a great bright back lighting which can be applied individually to 3 sides of the keyboard.

The specs give great performance with the 3rd Gen Intel i7 at 2.7GHz, my nVidia GTX 675MX video card, and my 512GB Crucial M4 SSD w/750GB HDD at 7,200 rpm in the CD drive. Not to mention my 32GB of RAM.

This is a great machine that has simply exceptional performance, great bang for buck, decent build quality, and very little problems.

As to the people who write complaints, it should be noted that the number of dissatisfied reviews is much less than Dell, or HP products- most Sager owners don't much care for writing reviews because their machine performs splendidly.

I would definitely recommend anyone to get a Sager- just not one of their lower priced models, as the build quality on those does tend to be sub-par. But go 1.3k and above, and you will find yourself the very happy owner of a serious gaming machine.

"Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

Sager is a Chinese based company that is selling junky products. They'll just take your money and ship you a lemon.

I will never purchase a Sager again and won't refer anyone else to go on it either.

"Sager's technical support is simply awesome. I haven't been able to get the time of day from other laptop manufacturers. When an electrical short killed my computer on the road, the support team was very responsive, and at one point spent nearly an hour with me on the phone stepping me various trouble shooting steps. In the end I had to ship the laptop back to them, and they had it fixed and sent back within a day of receiving it, and it was good as new. My co-workers, who use retail outlet computers, and very envious."

"I purchase an NP7280. It is nice having three hard drives but I bought it for gaming. NOT....Tried to play Age of Empires and it heated up and could not do it. It turned itself off. So I have to spend another $200.00 on a second power supply and hope that will fix it. My honest opinion is this computer cannot do it. I have a GTX-580M and just purchased a second card. I go to Sager to get the heat sinc and fan. The cost is $50.00 - but then almost $60.00 for shipping. It would cost no more than $10.00 to send it.

Go and google the top 10 gaming laptops and Sager is not even mentioned. I would not recommend a Sager to my worst enemy. I will never buy another one.

"I bought a new Sager NP9150 with lots of option in it for gaming and personal use. When the product arrived it was well packed and looked great. The laptop is very nice looking comfortable to use with the rubber coating on it and the led keyboard is great. The performence are also amazing. I had the option for the 95% ntsc flat screen (and its very worth it) also extra RAM and the hybrid HDD 500GB 7200rpm with 4GB hybrid SSD. One issue though there was RAM issue on arrival of the laptop. After about 2-3 hours of use the laptop would crash with a blue screen. So I sent an e-mail to support about what I could do myself without voiding the warranty to try to fix the problem or at least figure it out (I got a good knowledge of computer and technology). All the answer were very fast and they even sent me the documents that explain how to lift and remove the keyboard to test the extra RAM stick under it.

After many hours of testing I realised the issue wasnt coming from the RAM but from the motherboard so I asked for an RMA#. They answered very fast but told me I had to pay to ship it back to them (I live in canada). I just answer i didnt want to pay for the shipping as the product was dead on arrival and it had already cost me a lot (about 1700$). About an hours after they answered that they had granted my request so they covered all the shipping fee to send it back for repair. It took less then 2 days for them to answer me send me the RMA# so I could send back the laptop the next day. So far I am very please with the service and the product was great except for the RAM issue. Now I have still not receive it yet its still on repair but I'm sure it will work this time.

Best customer service I have seen in my life and the laptop is just absolutely amazing. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a good laptop for gaming and good after sale service.

***I have read many review about them and know few friend who have bought one and it doesnt seems that they have lots of probleme like I had so I will assume I was just a little unlucky. I will see when it come back to me.

"Worst customer service ever. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM SAGER AGAIN.

- Laptop malfunctioned within one year of very careful use.
- Couldn't honor an RMA that was one month over expiration (I couldn't send it in for repair during school).
- Tech support is a impossible to get a hold of.
- Emails are replied in broken English.
- Would not comply at all with shipping request via USPS Priority to save me $50.

"I began a search for an upgrade for my Dell M60 several years ago, finding the Sager had the most brute performance and largest monitor in the business. I bought a D901C, loaded with maximum RAM and RAID 5 hard disks. It was inexpensive compared to other brands.

I've packed the unit around four years now, supporting my mobile computing, data crunching and graphics requirements. The graphics display is large and high resolution. It's good to have RAID5 in the data-sensitive environment I work in. I still keep the M60 as a backup, but can use it no more. Technology is way past the M60's powers. I never trusted the Sager completely.

The drawbacks: First, one of my most useful programs doesn't run with the graphics card. I will grant that may be due to my technological inexperince. But the M60 always works for this program. Second, the Sager is so big, I could never find a rolling bag to stuff it into. I still pack it around in the original cheap nylon case. Third, the monster is SO big and heavy. It is no pleasure to lug around. In quick-moving situations, or one-night hotel trips, I still grab the M60 and an external drive. Fourth, this unit runs HOT. From the primitive brick power supply, to the unit itself. I've heated a convenience store burrito on the heat outlet from the SAGER. The heat cooked one of the RAID drives. I had to pull the hard disks to replace one, and the failed disk was the one in the center of the blazing heat. First degree burns are caused by 130 degree F temperatures, I estimate the disk temp was more than 110 degrees F.

This purchase was an experiment. Many people have commented on the bulk and weight of the machine. I've explained it was the hottest performing laptop on the market. I've also told them I'd never buy another, instead choosing a name brand with a little less performance, lots less weight and bulk, cooler running, and a high level of tech support. I barely used Sager's tech support. It was OK.

Would I buy another one? No. It wasn't worth it, even at the cheap price I paid for it. The seven or eight year old M60 was upgraded to its maximum, still backs me up, has been packed around and used by three students taking short-courses at universities and returned safely to continue running. The M60 comes on the short trips I mentioned, the Sager goes out only for trips that will be two or more weeks in a fixed location.

My advice, buy a hot name brand. The money invested pays back in technical support, long-term performance, and portable usability. Sager may lead in looks, graphic screen size and performance. I suspect they may have set the bar for other brands. They're not worth it to me.

"I have a Clevo P170HM that I had purchased from another reseller, and I had damaged the bezel frame around my LCD on accident and need a replacement. Because Sager is the primary place resellers get their parts, I thought I would try and work with them and do a special order.

I called and spoke with a man named Daniel, who was very patient and helpful in getting my order information and shipping info. After paying, I noticed I was accidentally overcharged $15. It was a simple miscommunication in shipping cost, not Daniel's fault. He quickly corrected it after I called him the next day, and my order was quickly shipped out and my replacement bezel arrived a few days later.

Overall very good service, and Daniel was a great person to work with. Thanks Sager!

"Sager computers really are cheap junky products. After only a year and half my computer is now broken. They have The worst customer service I have ever seen. They claim to have the best warranty's and customer service but they could care less. I talked to the manager of Sager support and he made many rude remarks. They are not professional and very difficult to deal with. It is by far the worst computer I have ever owned and it was a waste of $2000.

Do Not buy a Sager computer.

There is a reason why the BBB gives them an F

"I've been using Sager for about 10 years now. I've had great service from my local guy who sells them. I live close to the main warehouse and have been there once and was treated great and they took care of the issue while I waited. I did have one laptop that the monitor lid cracked after about 4 years, they found a used one for me and of course I had to pay for it. I've had a Toshiba that did the same thing though. My Sager rep has really treated me great - he is Chinese so maybe he has a special "in" with the company. He does most repairs and warranty issues himself - impressed with his service. Right now I have a model M57RU. My only complaint is the key board keys could be a little more crisp"
