"WORST SERVICE I have ever had!! Took a month and a half to recieve the order, only after putting stop payment on the credit card and countless e-mails stating to cancel the order. Order arrived and it was incomplete. It took 3 months to get everything I ordered. They wouldn't pay for return shipping, they wanted me to pay. They do not return phone calls or e-mails. This place should be out of business."

"Was worried at first but turned out to be very happy with them. Order arrived on time with no issues when I opended the box my tool was damaged beyond use. This was shipping damage and no fault of there's and was thought I would get the run around as with many other places I have dealt with in the past. Def not with these guys I got to keep the first item and they sent me a new one overnight. I was very impressed"

"Sent out an order on Tuesday 4/20, but became concerned with the poor reviews. I emailed the sales people to say that, if the order could not be filled in three days, then it should be canceled. I didn't want my order to be tied up in the way some have reported, but I thought it fair to given them a reasonable opportunity to fill the order.

My order was filled the next day (Wed) and received on Friday. A salesperson, Sarah, emailed me later to say that she was sorry that I had been alarmed and that they have only a few dissatisfied customers.

I'm in no position to comment on anyone else's experience, but my order was handled in a very fast, professional manner, for a very good price. The items ordered were delivered exactly as ordered, ahead of schedule, and I could use the tools on Friday that I had ordered on Tuesday.

All told, I'm happy with the service and will not hesitate to order from them again, if the need arises.

"Horrible customer service. Never shipped my order. Gave me run-around until trying to get me to pay more for the tools I ordered.

I ordered from S&J because they listed the lowest prices around on SK hand tools. Every item I ordered off their website was posted as "usually ships next business day." Two weeks, three weeks, five weeks, and six weeks after I ordered and paid for those tools, I I had to email them to inquire on the status. Each time I was told that they were looking into it and should get back to me soon (of course if they had gotten back, I wouldn't have had to email with the same question, week after week). Eventually, they said the parts were back-ordered, but that they could get them to me soon if I paid the new, higher price. I explained that this was unacceptable. I paid the full listed price for the tools with the understanding that they would be shipped within a few days. They happily took my money and kept me in the dark until trying to squeeze more cash from me. Eventually they refunded my money. Should have checked other customers' reviews. My experience seems to be typical with this company. I'll never shop with them again.

"same experience as the writer above -- they charged my credit card immediately, never shipped the order, then when i said where's my stuff, they wanted an additonal $87 for "hazmat" -- bull, its not a hazmat item -- didn't get my $ refunded until i contacted my credit card company

an obvious scam, as also detailed on epinions forum -- why yahoo allows this to continue says a lot about yahoo -- and i believe that most of the positive reviews above are phoney

"WARNING!!! Attention to everybody who ever will think to have business with this "company." S&J's Discount Tools. DO NOT!!! STAY AWAY!!! #1 reason, no contact phone number on their website (good enough to stay away). #2, even if you call ***-***-**** (which I found on PayPal, but it was already too late, because my money was gone) you will never speak to live person and they will never call you back. #3. The company name does NOT register in nationwide 411 information list (how about that). #4: There is more than one company registered to the address they have on their website (7830 North Central Dr. Suite C Lewis Center, OH 43035). I called the businesses located in next units from them and guess what, one has never seen any body in unit "C", the other one told me they have moved out. I won't go into details of my experience with them, but I finally received a refund after opening a dispute with the credit card company. Once again, STAY AWAY. I am sure whatever you are looking for, you can find anywhere else in a decent company with decent people. I would add a "B" in front of "S&J" to describe what kind of business they are."

"I ordered 6 products for a job on 3/24/10. The first 2 items came in about 2 days and the next 3 about 2 days later. I noticed that the gallon of surface cleaner I ordered was missing. I contacted them about it. They assured me that it was a mistake and it would ship out. I waited a few days for a tracking number, then today I get an email stating that it would be $75 extra to ship the cleaner on UPS because they say it's hazmat. I'm going to file a complaint with ic3.gov
for fraud. I was charged the day of the sale and I never got all my merchandise. What a scam.

"I ordered a tool from this company first part of February. They don't communicate at all until you inquire about the item after it should have been recieved. They tell you it is on backorder and will ship in a week or two. When that time is up and you inquire again they will push the ship date up another month or better.
They illegally charge your card at time of order and not when it ships. They make most of their money from interest on money from outstanding orders. There is no real company just two guys doing this from their home and drop shipping from different vendors. There is nobody working for them who answers phones, takes orders or solves problems. Just a mass order center who is not affiliated with them but hired to take phone orders from customers who doesn't want to order on-line. Megan and some other female names are just phonies to make make angry customers less prone to say what they think.
I ordered from them a couple of years ago as well with the same exact outcome.
Stay away from these guys.

Update on 4/15/10
In all fairness I have decided to update my previous post about this company.
After all the troubles I had experienced with this order, Sarah called on the phone and offered a 20% discount and free shipping if I wanted to continue waiting for my merchandise.
It did finally arrive and Sarah followed thru on her promise. In addition she did call me back every time I left a message on the same phone number posted in a different review on this website.
Will probably give them another shot just to see if I had bad luck in the past.

"Another excellent experience. There was an item missing from the original shipment. I emailed SJ the evening the package arrived after confirming the tool was not in the box. I received a response the next day from Megan at SJ indicating they were looking in to the problem. A few days later I got another email from Megan indicating they had found the problem and the tool was being shipped. The tool was on my porch the next day when I arrived home.

I have placed several orders and am very happy with the service.

"Their service left MUCH to be desired for me.

I ordered a rotary tool from the website on 2/27/10. I received the order confirmation email with tracking link that day but that was the last time I got any notification from them proactively. My payment was recieved 2/28/10. The website stated that most orders ship next business day and that back ordered items may take 3-7 business days. After 9 days with no update of status I tried the link and could not access the order status so I emailed the company to inquire (on a Monday). The response stated that my order was due to ship out by the end of the week. When I replied that based on their website information for shipping and delivery times the best case scenario would have already seen me receiving the order and the worst case showed that the order would have had to ship that day (the 9th), the response was simply that "the order is on backorder but due in this week".

Going back to that first response from them, I was also told "Once shipped tracking will be updated online and you will receive a tracking notification".

That never happened. I sent one last email Monday evening (3/15/10) stating that if they could not get my order to me by their own worst-case scenario, I wanted to cancel the order. TWO DAYS LATER (the worst-case day I should have product in-hand) they sent me a UPS tracking #.

To their credit, I did receive my order. But when paying for a product that is the absolute minimum one should expect. When given time frames that are not met, one should expect a certain amount of customer service - if nothing more than a (proactive) notification that there has been a delay and that the product might be a bit late. Knowing that I requested a cancelation if I couldn't have the product in-hand by the 17th, and then to have them trying to squeeze by shipping my order out on THAT day - I should be very upset. I am happy to have my rotary tool but...

I am COMPLETELY DISSATISFIED with SJ Discount Tools (Great Deals Inc.)
