Customer Care does NOT Care

"Customer service is terrible. My fault was I was unaware of the 48 hours "buyer remorse" return policy. This is not buyers remorse. I would still purchase the ottoman if it was an accurate color. I purchased a furniture set a year and a half ago, unable to afford the ottoman. I believed they had stopped selling the set so I was thrilled when I saw it online, not aware of the slight color variation. I received the ottoman on a Thursday and I work weekends. When did I have time to sort out the discrepancy? Now I'm stuck with an ottoman that doesn't match and customer service who didn't even try to fix the situation. All I got was lousy sorry with no attempt to resolve the issue. An exchange maybe for the right color? Nope. Will definitely not recommend rooms to go to anyone. Especially online purchases. "

worst service ever

"omg dont ever buy furniture from Rooms To Go.... bought furniture 30 days ago to be delivered today .... they message me yesterday saying they would be here today between 1 and 5 .....at 300 they call to tell me it could be 10 oclock before they get .....i tell them i want it delivered in daylight not darkness ....i dont know these people so i say i guess i dont want it since i thinking im the customer i should have the right since they defaulted on time ...the manager mr cain at the 1960 willowbrook was useless so i guess next week ill reschedule cause they want to charge me a 20 percent restocking fee ...................NEVER BY FROM THEM AGAIN AND THIS IS THE 3 PURCHASE OF OVER 2500 IN 3 YEARS ...............Good Bye rooms to go for me"

"If zero was a choice for rating it would be my choice...in my ongoing saga, after waiting two weeks to receive a new sofa, thinking the problem had been resolved...prior to that, I had told my wife, no resolution will come from these people...and low and behold...the 'new' sofa was delivered...as the saying goes, same thing, different day....if anything, the problem was worse...now, guess what, they are going to send a 'technician' to check out the problem...I wish I had never purchased for these con artist....my first review described this nightmare in more detail...I will never purchase another item from these dummies....the salesperson was deceitful and not helpful at all, especially when he asked us to call if there were any problems...you know the old salesman's lie, they don't give a damn after the sale....."

Pushy Salesman

"I purchased a leather sofa set at rooms to go and the Salesman was so pushy. . He said I was going to ruin the furniture with my make up and hair products and dry skin unless I purchase the fabric protectant. .. very unpleasant.. if my boyfriend hadn't already paid we wouldn't have bought them..!"

The Best Furniture Buying Experience EVER!!!

"I have bought furniture from Haverty's, Terry's and other places. Rooms to Go is the BEST by far ever! I ordered a chair and ottoman and a side table online without even see them. I got the interest free deal-which was great! They called 2 days before the delivery date promised when I bought the furniture. They called the morning of deliver and came the EXACT time they would be here. Three very nice and polite delivery man came. They brought everything in, unwrapped and placed the furniture just where I wanted. I cannot say enough about how polite and kind these men were, they were quick, but extremely professional. I can't say enough about how wonderful this entire experience has been from the beginning to the end. I had read many negative review-but I experienced nothing but Positives. Also about an hour after delivery, I received a call from Room to Go to make sure everything was just as I ordered and delivered and happy!!! I will be buying more furniture from Rooms to Go in the future!!!!"

Deliberately with held important policy info

"I went to the store in search of a bed for my son. I applied for credit but was not approved, which was fine because I knew my credit wasn't the greatest. So I asked about lay away and the lady I spoke to said they do have it. I went ahead and did the law away figuring everything was fine. The total amount was $780 and two months later I was $521 in. Unfortunately, I got laid off from my job and I knew I was not going to able to pay off the bed by the 90 day deadline. I went in to cancel the lay away only to find out that the money was non refundable. ALL OF IT! There wasn't a cancellation fee only just screwed if you can't pay off the merchandise in 90 days. I was not told this when I got the lay away. If I was informed that I could not cancel, I would never had done it. I was furious. So now I have to find a way to pay this off or have hundreds of dollars taken from me. In my current situation I fear it may not be possible. The sales lady I spoke to should have told me this from the beginning and I feel it should be mandatory for them to fully explain the policy especially one that could potentially cost the customer a lot of money. I will never again do business with Rooms to Go. "

All boxsprings are the same.

"I purchased a king size mattress and it was delivered in good condition. I went to purchase a Serta Perfect Sleeper, but was suckered into buying there brand mattress with a 20 year warranty, but after 6 month the mattress had a 2 inch dip on both sides and a hump in the middle, mind you I paid $1284 for the mattress and box spring set. I called them and a tech checked the mattress and said they been having a lot of problems with there mattress name brand Therapeutic mattresses. First I couldn't get a replacement that I wanted because their policy says that I could get a mattress of equal value or more. The mattress I wanted was $2 less and I could not get it, I told them they can keep the 2 dollars, they said no. They only had 2 mattresses of the same price, 1 was the same name brand as the one that I originally purchased and the other was the Serta Perfect Sleeper. I told them that one was fine, but then they tell me they are only giving me the mattress and not the box springs. I told then they don't match box springs are grey and mattress is white. So I went home and called the corporate office. They told me that nothing is wrong with the box spring and I told them they don't match. They finally said the would exchange the box springs but that I would have to pay the delivery charge again, I asked why they said because it's a different order, so I ask them to explain to me how they wanted to charge me a delivery charge I already paid for the original set that was for both springs and mattress. Then I told the so let me see you want to charge me for delivery for the box springs but the mattress leaves the warehouse on the wednesday 20th and the box springs will be on the same truck as the mattress which is being delivered for FREE. That doesn't make sense just they are greedy and the customer doesn't mean anything to them, all they care about is money. I will NEVER EVER purchase anything from them and would advise my friends that are realtors, home owners and hotel owners to never shop there because they of their shotty business practices."

Gave a one star rating because zero wasn't an option!

"I've purchased several items over the past years and this will be the last! I purchased 6 items 5 of which were damaged. Had to wait another week to get new furniture and once again arrived damaged! Store manager was absolutely no help. Was told there would be no guarantee that the third go around would not be damaged. He's just a glorified sales associate. I called customer service and was told it would take 48 hours for the district manager to contact me! Really? This is how you run a company? Delivery drivers also stated there isn't a day that goes by that they don't deliver damaged furniture!"

Great all-around experience!

"I hate reading all the negative reviews when my experience was top-notch. We purchased an entertainment center from the Birmingham, AL RTG store. Our salesman – Jim - was helpful and pleasant (no pushy interaction). Our wall unit was delivered on time and with great care by the delivery team. Once we got our TV set-up and got ready to place items on the piece, we noticed a slightly warped shelf. Rooms-to-Go customer service was very responsive and set-up a return/replace for us within 10 days of the first delivery. The second delivery team was as nice as the first - careful with the furniture and respectful of our home when they delivered the replacement. I have nothing but good things to say about our experience and just wish everyone could have a similar interaction with RTG."

Rooms to Go doesn't expect their furniture to last more than one year!

"They talked us into getting the bonded leather instead of the microfiber upholstery, saying the bonded leather would "last a lifetime." We spent $1500 on a couch and a love seat. Within 3 years, it flaked and peeled and came off. There are a zillion pictures of this on the internet, so it's clearly not our fault. The furniture was completely ruined. When we asked for a pro-rated refund, all they would say is "Rooms to Go had no obligation to deliver furniture that would last longer than the one year warranty period." That sounds a lot different from "will last a lifetime." We don't have little kids, or pets, or smokers, and we don't sleep on these couches. They just sat in our house and deteriorated. They were used for two adults to sit on to watch TV. We did not abuse the furniture in any way. Rooms to Go simply doesn't care about customer service. I contacted four re-upholstery shops and they all said "We do not re-upholster that Rooms to Go furniture--it simply isn't worth it. Buy yourself some good furniture from a garage sale, Craigslist, or an estate sale, and we will re-upholster it for you.""

"I wish I could give a 0 or even a negative stars for my experience with their delivery service. First of all, let me make it clear that my experience at the store was not bad at all. The sales rep informed me well on all available options and was professional in interaction. It's their delivery service that was BEYOND AWFUL.

Short story:

All in all, a horrible experience with the delivery and customer care service. There is a big communication gap between sales and delivery. Store manager tells me that delivery is done through an independent contracting company. The customer care service doesn't care about your problems, they just want to avoid the responsibility. Save yourself some time, money and headache and buy furniture somewhere else.

Long story:

1. I ordered a reclining sofa from them for a specific reason. I was going to get a shoulder surgery done and needed to sleep in reclining position for several days after surgery. While placing my order on a Tuesday, one week before the surgery, I made sure that the sales rep was aware about this requirement. I was promised that if I ordered on the same day, I WILL get it over the weekend or on Monday. I was also told that I will get a call the next day with a confirmed delivery date. I did not receive any call until Friday. I called the store and they had estimated delivery on my order 10 days after I placed it. I had to talk to a couple of people before getting that corrected and the delivery was scheduled to be on Monday. Had I not called them, I would not have received the sofa in time that was promised.

2. Monday morning I had to stop by work and I missed the delivery guy by 5 minutes. I had also left a note on the door with my phone number. I received a call on my phone when the driver was already waiting at my place. Why would you not call people 10 minutes before you are on the way to their place? I called the number back and it turns out to be their corporate office number in FL. I asked for delivery assistance and call gets transferred to customer care service. I had to do this 3 times. 15-20 minutes of wait each time and I finally get hold of a real person. After explaining the situation, the lady puts me on hold to talk to 'dispatch manager'. On return, she explains to me that the driver is gone now and it has been 1 hour since he left my place. Of course it has been 1 hour, I have been on the phone trying to get hold of someone this whole time.

3. Delivery service is extremely inflexible. To deliver items in Raleigh, they need to get it from their warehouse in Charlotte, which is understandable. But if you miss the delivery, your order is locked and you will not be able to re-schedule the delivery until 2-3 business days. Then it will take 5-7 more days to get it delivered. So if you miss your driver by 5 minutes, you loose 10 days in delivery. Apparently, if delivery is missed in Raleigh, items GO BACK to Charlotte...WTF?? Who came up with this system? Raleigh (and Triangle area in general) has so many customers, I don't see why they cannot have a local storage in such situations and re-deliver it the next day.

4. I called store to cancel my order as any delivery after Monday was not acceptable. Store manager wanted to try the despatch manager again to see if it can be re-scheduled today again. This was at 11 AM. I was asked to wait for a call. I finally received a call after 3:30 PM only to tell me that they cannot deliver it today. If the decision was made not to re-deliver it today, why was I not notified earlier. I could use that time to make alternate arrangements.

5. At the end of all the drama, I ended up canceling the order and losing shipping and force field protection money (together about $120). I bet they can sell that sofa to someone else and charge them $60 again for the same protection treatment. From what I read in several other reviews, the "Force Field" protection is another big scam and warranties/treatments under this protection are at "RTG's discretion".

Most of the steps in their delivery process don't make logical sense and nobody seems to care about it.

"Horrible experience. Bought a bed 2 months ago and was delivered broken 2 months after. It will take them more than a week to deliver the part that is broken. Called customer service and talk to supervisor, she answered "It is what it is". We were regular clients, we bought several furniture from them, but that is not enough to treat us so disrespectfully. Never will buy another furniture from them. "

"The WORST customer service - I will never darken their doorstep again. Placed on online order to be delivered to my daughters home. Upon payment, I was given a delivery date. I had also put in the "special instructions" box - "Call before delivery" - as my daughter works and I live approx 45 min. away. Rcvd email stating we would receive a call and be given a 4 hour delivery window. NO call was made UNTIL they were sitting outside the home and no one was home. To make a long story short- I made umpteen calls - was told each time a manager would call me/they had no way to call the driver/didn't know what company was delivering etc. .. Bottom line - NO calls (until they tell me they will not be delivering and that I'll need to wait a few days and reschedule?!?) - and NO delivery. Then, when I go to cancel the order, I'm given the same run around. I'm told they plan to keep the delivery fee because it was my fault THEY did NOT do what THEY had said they would - ie NOTIFY me before delivery. Moral of this experience - shop elsewhere - preferably with companies who are honest, can own up to their mistakes, and value you as a customer."

"I wouldn't even give the 1 star that I had to give since its a mandatory field. With Stores like Rooms To Go, you expect certain type of customer service but I was wrong. First of all they don't guarantee you a delivery date, secondly, if you paid with gift card, they don't refund you the money.
I ordered a bed from rooms to go online on July 18, 2015. Upon completion of the order, I was given a delivery date of July 25, 2015. I got text messages and calls during the week I was suppose to get the bed and 1 day before the day of delivery, I got call from rooms to go saying that they don't have the bed in stock and would not be able to deliver until the 5th of August.
I let it go and compromised it believing that I will get the bed on 5th of August, but I never got any text messages or calls during the week of August 5th, so called rooms to go on August 3, 2015, the lady who answered the call said they won't be able to deliver me until the 12th of August. I asked the lady if that bed is in stock or not? she said they are going get it by Thursday, August 6, 2015 and the earliest I can get the bed is 12th.
I asked her if she can guarantee that I will get the bed by August 12th? she said she cannot guarantee it, so I asked what if I don't get it on 12th, then she replied we can go from there? I asked where can we go from there if you guys cannot deliver me even after waiting for almost 1 month of the date I paid for the product but she just kept saying they don't guarantee a delivery date if something happens by that time.
What I have learnt from this experience is I would never ever buy anything from Rooms To Go again !!!

"I recently bought a new mattress set. My first delivery was a sterns n foster, after it arrived I noticed the edge of the mattress was fraying and in many places the stitching was not aligned, rooms to go kindly replaced the mattress at no restock charge, I de sided to go with a sealy ocean resort instead with an adjustable frame however the mattress was way to thick and rigid to properly move on the frame, once again they did not charge me a restocking fee, I finally settled on the icomfort insight, and because I brought in a script from my doctor they charged me no sales tax. There maybe a lot of bad reviews out there but I thought after every thing they did to satisfy me they deserved to be acknowledged"
