"Spent $72 for replacement key and remote for my 2009 Saturn Aura. Provided them with my make/model info. When they arrived, there was a note in the package that said 'when we looked up your vehicle we noticed there are no self programming instructions and you will need to contact and automotive locksmith. You cannot return these items unless a locksmith has been contacted and has attempted to program them'. I called several locksmiths and the least expensive quote was $110! I would have been better off going to a dealership and purchasing everything there! "
"The same key fobs are about half price on Amazon and they don't tell you ahead of time that you'll have to pay to have it programmed I had to pay a $160. It's kind of in the fine print that these aren't even new their refurbished."
"Thinking that I would actually be saving money over the dealership, I ordered my remote for my 2007 HHR. The product I received was basically as described (though visibly cheaper cover than a factory remote); however, when it came, they sent a note stating that they couldn't find self-programming for this model, and I would have to contact a locksmith. Had I known that this was the case, I NEVER would have ordered it. The cost of the fob plus the locksmith is about the cost of going to the dealer, plus with the dealership you KNOW the quality and warranty are both good. Call them first to make sure you don't have to involve a locksmith for your remote. "

"I wish I had looked for reviews before I purchased....the piece is used, their instructions didn't work, which they indicate is very possible as they download them from the Internet. The professional I needed also couldn't program the remote. They accepted returning it, but then charged a "restocking" fee. Ultimately, it's a hassle. Additionally, I got a new remote, fully programmed, for less money than this used piece with professional services would cost. They also refused to acknowledge any responsibility (I indicated the issues when I requested the return, noting that the "restocking fee" is outrageous). Keep away, you might end up with the same pos I returned!"
"They did not tell me when I ordered my replacement remote that I would incur additional costs to program the remote device! They knew so when I ordered it yet did not disclose that information. I do not appreciate paying for something under the assumption that it is a turn-key contractual arrangement, only to find out that my purchase of the remote is nil and useless without more outlay of funds...especially when they knew it beforehand and yet failed to disclose that. I informed the company with all data regarding my vehicle, and they followed by sending with the device the note that disclosed that they knew the remote itself was incomplete as such.
Further, they even stated in their confirmation of the order the following: "Please enter your vehicle's Year, Make & Model so we can provide the proper programming information with your product if applicable." This strongly suggests that with the delivery of the product, they would provide the programming information necessary to code the device. There was not even a hint of an incomplete remote device or any additional expense. I vehemently protest such a way to transact business. And since they requested, and since I had complied with that request, they already knew that my product was a 2015 Nissan Altima, which did not come with a pre-programmed remote. They knew well ahead of sending the remote that they were unable to send a programmed device. Such communication--or, in this case, lack of it, is significantly less than ethical.
I seriously resent this, and I am communicating with my attorney regarding my options to pursue legal action regarding transactions that do not include full disclosure. "
"I wish I had read these reviews before ordering. Their “guarantee” is worthless! They sold me a used remote for more than what I had to eventually pay the locksmith for one. Since it was used, it could t be programmed. Even though the error was theirs, they would not refund my full purchase price. I returned it within their set timeframe for a full refund. Do not do business was with this company! Call your local locksmith. They can take care of you with less cost. "
"I ordered a fob for my 2007 Chevrolet HHR. The website led me to believe that it would come with the ability to self-program (I've done this with 2 other remotes on my current vehicle). When I received it, they included a little piece of paper that said my vehicle and the remote was incapable of being self-programmed. If that's true, why have I been able to do it two other times? Don't waste your time or your money! Shame on me because I know better than to purchase from companies without looking at the reviews first."

"I received the remote and discovered that they had neglected to tell me that I had to have a locksmith program it. The locksmith wanted $135.00 to program the remote. By the time you combined the cost of the remote and the programming, I was within $25.00 of a dealer supplied and programmed remote.
When the locksmith tried to program the remote his computer told him that the unit was already assigned to another automobile and it could not be reprogramed. He also told me that the remote was not a KIA model but a knockoff from China.
I am returning my remote and will not be ordering another. I will pay full price at the dealer but will know what I am getting and where to get it service."
"Purchase a remote with expedited shipping (1-3 business days). It shipped fairly quickly, I'll give them credit for that, but it took a week to receive the item. However the their definition of 1 to 3 days doesn't include that day or apparently the date of receipt. I requested some sort of refund of the extra shipping charges but was stonewalled. Find another place to do business with."
"I made a purchase of a remote on Nov 1 2018 and immediately cancelled it, within the same phone call. The agent pushed through my purchase without informing me about how to program the remote. When I asked about it after the payment went through, she informed me that I would have to have it done by a local locksmith, to the tune of $50-100 more. When I expressed frustration that I wasn't informed about this, she claimed I was "more focussed on the model of the remote." She never again brought up the subject; I had to ask about it. When I immediately then cancelled the purchase - I hadn't even yet gotten the invoice email - she told me there would be a charge. She refused to waive the fee. Shady business practices. I found the same remote for 1/3 of the price on Amazon and got it programmed for less than the charge from RMR.com."
" I purchased a key fob for my 1996 GMC truck. It not only works and looks like a new one, but the instructions were spot on and the package even included the jumper wire! It honestly took less than 5 minutes to program the new one and another one I had!!

"This product is a POS. Price cheap but very cheaply made and an act of congress to try to figure out. Need a locksmith to assist. Doesn't pay you to try and return it with a $10 restock fee and postage. Chalk it up to never again. Stay away from this scam!!"
