"I recently purchased a bubble chair from this place. The 2 girls I dealt with were wonderful. I had an issue with my card and I called to very nicely ask If It could be changed and an extremely arrogant and nasty man took my call. All I wanted was a credit. Needless to say because of him I will never buy anything from there again and tell everyone I know not to ! Do not shop at Regency Shop

"Oh my GOODNESS! Where to start? I am an interior designer here in West Hollywood/Beverly Hills area, so I need a lot of assistance and attention from my vendors. I order a lot of stuff at once, and sometimes not in a orderly fashion. Whether I'm just browsing or I have a black Amex attached to my forehead, Regencyshop is always very patient and doesn't push product or a sale on you. That's something you don't find very often in this business, it's a real rarity!

I think Regencyshop takes their time because they understand that buying items for your home or office is a big deal (and sometimes a big investment!) and it should be handled with patience and care.

Jessica/Lisa/Michael or anyone else you deal with at Regencyshop are most patient, kind, and knowledgeable people in the furniture industry that I have come across. I've had them spend hours with me working out quotes. There isn't a question they can't answer, and they go above and beyond to help with the products I purchase from them.

I highly recommend Regencyshop for all your home or office furnishings needs, and also as a place to see and purchase modern lights and lamps.

They'll even tell you if the pieces you like won't work for your project, because they care about their customers and their happiness. They'll lose a sale here and there because of that, but their good intentions are there and that's the bottom line.

"These guys are crooks. I am now out $40 for simply placing an order with them. I ordered a mesh table from them. The site did not say that the item was out of stock. I received an email confirming my order but after a couple of days had not received a tracking number. I emailed them and they said it would take 3 weeks to get my table. So apparently they didn't have the table in stock, but never told me that.

I waited 3 weeks and neither received the table or heard anything from Regency. On May 2, I emailed and was told "These items are scheduled to arrive to our warehouse on Wednesday afternoon. Once we receive, we will ship out to you as soon as possible. Delivery will be 3-5 days after shipping date. Please keep an eye on your email for tracking number information."

No table by May 6 so I emailed again. Was told "Our shipment was held up at customs and will be released on Monday. We will be shipping Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Please check your email for tracking # information next week."

No tracking number by May 11 so I email again and am told "Yes sir you will have a tracking number tomorrow. Please check your email for it.

No tracking number of May 12, so email yet again. Am told "We had several backorders that we had to move out this week. Our shipping company is scheduled to take your shipment today and I will have a tracking number for you before noon today (Pacific Time). Please let me know if you have any other questions."

Guess what? I get a tracking number much later that day. But the tracking number doesn't work. I call the shipping company and they've never heard of Regency. I try calling but don't have anything from them until the 17th when I get another tracking number. But the tracking number never works. Turns out this company, and the company before them, returned the table to Regency because it wasn't sufficiently packaged to be shipped.

I get yet another email:

"Our shipping company has made an error in tracking information. Please see correct info below:

www.pacific-logistics.com with 974336

If you do not receive your shipment within 5 days of this email, then please contact us immediately."

This is now the third shipping company. Guess what happens? They return the table because it's not packaged properly.

In the middle of a dozen phone calls and emails Regency has the gall to send me a link for customer service feedback.

On May 24, after placing the initial order on April 11, I cancel the order. This is the response I receive:

"You ordered a dining table with a very large and heavy piece of glass. We work with 10 shipping companies and 9 of them refused to take this large piece of glass due to company rules and regulations. The one shipping company that agreed to transport the glass, Pacific Logistics, inspected our original packing and then returned not only your piece, but 5 other pieces of dining glass to be bubble wrapped and repackaged for extra safety. Regency Shop must comply with our partners' wishes. We would not want you to receive a broken piece of glass. We have an A- rating with the BBB. We care about our customers and providing excellent service."

I call them and speak with Jessica and she convinces me to allow them to try one more shipper. they are to get the tracking number to me the next day. I never got a tracking number. Jessica tells me it would cost extra to actually ship it to me so they just canceled it with the shipper.

So now it's been almost 7 weeks. I don't have a table the whole time Regency has had my money. The table never actually shipped. It was just given to several shippers who gave it right back to them. Yet they charge me a "restocking fee." Their response to this?

"Your refund has been issued. I cannot waive our restocking fee, especially since this item was shipped, returned, and repackaged. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions where we state all buyer initiated canceled orders are subject to a 5% restocking fee."

If you look under terms and conditions you will not find where they state about a restocking fee with canceled orders. These are their words:

"Is there a cancellation policy?

Yes, you have up to 24 hours to cancel your order. You will need to contact us immediately, as items are prepared for shipping or pickup right away. If the items have been shipped or prepared for local pickup prior to the 24 hour period, you may be responsible for shipping cost and/or a restocking fee."

"Always enjoy using regency to find good deals on modern furniture. I have never had any problems with the products I purchased through them. Sometimes shipping appears higher because the items are on clearance. The bottom line is, if a $900 chair is on sale for $350, then its still a great deal even with $199 shipping.


I suggest that you shop around, you will find that regency indeed has the best prices and quality, by far.

"I am having trouble with this store.
So I decided to check the review on it, and sure enough, the rating is so low.
I ordered furniture from them 5 weeks ago, and I didn't get my order but they charged me for it.
I have tried to contact the customer service 5-6 times so far, but they don't get back to me.
I will have to contact my credit card company to dispute the charge. It is such a hassle...just don't shop there.

"I picked up the steel mesh table from their warehouse. The table was out of stock when I ordered it. I was in no rush, and it was on clearance so I thought "what the hey" I will wait a couple weeks.

The table arrived in about 3 weeks, they emailed to schedule a time for pickup.

Danny & Lisa were a delight at the warehouse, they took everything out of the box so I could inspect it.


HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I WILL SURELY SHOP HERE AGAIN.

"We purchased two egg chairs and two custom-colored swan chairs from RegencyShop. We were able to pick up the egg chairs from warehouse within a few days. They are well-made and we inspected them prior to pickup. We were told that the custom colored chairs can take 4-8 weeks.

We were not in a huge rush for the swan chairs so we waited and when they finally arrived in about 6 weeks, we were able to pick them up.

So, if you are not in a rush, then the great deals you can get from Regencyshop are unmatched. In-stock items can be picked up within a few days and you can save quite a bit on shipping.

All the chairs look great in our living room. We especially love the swan chairs, they are exactly the color that we wanted, plus we were able to get them at the low clearance price!

We were happy with our purchase and will definitely shop here again.

"I placed my order over 6 weeks ago and still have not received my chairs yet. Communication has been terrible too. They don't answer their emails promptly

UPDATE:
This is a follow-up to my review on Feb 10.

So, after 7 weeks and 13 emails to them, I never got my chairs. I did get a refund from them, but they deducted $66.88 "RESTOCKING FEE" (for a chair that was never in stock). This is also after they said "we will be glad to issue full credit". I guess full credit means the full price I paid MINUS the 10% restocking fee. How could I have missed that.

In terms of communication, I do have to correct my previous review. They did reply within 24 hours for 11 of the 13 emails. I guess it just seemed longer since I've been waiting for 7 weeks for my chairs. One of the email never got answered and another email prompted a phone call from them after 3 days. Excited to finally get some personal attention, I thought maybe the chair mysteriously appeared, but no, the call was mainly to argue about my review I left on this site. At the end of the call, I was given the opportunity to earn my full refund by "correcting" my review. (YAY!).

So here's my update, I guess my last review was partially incorrect. They did respond to most of my 13 emails within 24 hours, but I still believe they have poor communication and poor customer service. A customer should never need to send 13 emails to check up on his order and a customer should never be charged restocking fee for something that was never in stock.

Hopefully after they review my "corrected" review, I can finally get the rest of my refund...

"AWESOME BAR STOOLS AT A GREAT PRICE! We had been shopping around for bar stools for a while, until we came across regencyshop, they had a great selection and some of their stools were on clearance. We purchased 6 clearance price stools from them and when they arrived they looked even better than the pics. So the trick is to get the stools while they are on clearance, I cannot really afford the real price on the other stools they sell, way too expensive. "

"If you want a chic modern look but don't want to harvest a kidney in order to afford it, then RegencyShop.com is the place to go.

If you like the Barcelona chair but don't want to pay 1200.00, Regency offers a replica (the Ibiza) for nearly a third of that price. (In fact, Regency offers replacement cushions for a STEAL! And if you have two 50 lbs dogs who like to sleep on that chair, being able to purchase JUST cushions is a godsend!)

If you like the Nelson table from the Herman Miller line and don't want to pay $800+, Regency offered the identical table for a quarter of that price.

Now here are some things to keep in mind:
For leather products, you are NOT getting premium leather. --to expect that would be insane and unfair to the folks at Regency. However, you ARE getting a VERY good replica.

Regency, like any other retailer, is at the mercy of their suppliers. They have no control over the availability of their product. If a product is delayed, they are willing to offer you a credit –they will not hold your money hostage.

So the bottom line is this: RegencyShop.com offers a great selection at a great price point.

"I worked at a modern furniture store for three years in college and so am quite familiar with modern furniture - authentic and knockoffs alike.

I ordered a Barcelona chair and two seater bench from RegencyShop.com. I was extremely skeptical given that (shipping aside) the products were around one third the cost of other reproductions.

Here is what I've found:


I received my chair six weeks after the order date (not two as I was quoted) and my bench has yet to arrive. Timing on furniture is typically this way so I am not surprised.

The chair is NOT 100% leather. The seat and seatback are, but the sides and back are 100% vinyl. Again, I expected this as $1000 reproductions are of the same construction.

I don't have my bench yet, but for what I paid, the chair is fine. It doesn't look just like a knoll, and that's because it isn't.

In terms of service, the guy I dealt with (I have the feeling it is a one man shop) was fine and always got back to me when I called to check on timing.

Long and short is, expect to wait, don't expect authentic quality but you'll pay half as much. You get what you pay for.

"TERRIBLE online merchant. Their Eames chair replica is upholstered with 100% fake leather. I tried to return the chair and the owner was extremely obstinate and condescending. Eventually, I had the "leather" from the chair analyzed by the Leather Research Laboratory at the University of Cincinnati and they conclusively demonstrated with rigorous scientific and microscopic analysis that not only is the material 100% synthetic, but a LOW quality synthetic. When I tried giving regencyshop a chance to resolve this peacefully by telling them that I only wanted a return/refund and would no longer pursue any other action, the owner became even more of a condescending jerk. So, I reported them to the BBB, requested a reverse of charges with my credit card company, and eventually regencyshop.com had to refund all of my $. The owner still tried claiming that his chair was upholstered in leather, so the claims went through arbitration, and he was resoundly defeated.

I'm posting this to warn any potential consumers of regencyshop.com that THIS MERCHANT IS FULL OF CRAP AND FRAUDULENTLY ADVERTISES CHEAPLY MADE FURNITURE FROM CHINA. In addition, he also posts fake "consumer reviews" himself at various online consumer reporting sites, all with the same theme of "I bought a wonderful chair from regencyshop.com and am so pleased with my purchase that i'm thinking of buying another one or two for my family/friends." THIS IS ALL A SCAM.

"I purchased a 35 1/2" round marble top tulip table in June. Received the table in July. The top is marble but has a heavy, white plastic type coating that is thick and opaque. No veins, looks plastic. The top finish is not at all what is shown on website. Also the finish has a defect. Trying to have Regencyshop work with me but so far they do not want to back their merchandise. I am VERY dissapointed with the quality and concerned about regencyshop.com's service. Table was a waste of time and money!"
