"Everything I heard, read or could find said NO don't do it. But i bought from them using my AMEX as insurance. the products, price and service were excellent. I was stunned to see what a good value I have gotten. I actually bought from them via Ebay but the auction or offering had ended. I called them and they offered to extend the package at the ad price.
I love these guys and wish they had more stuff to sell that I need.

"I bought a Canon EOS Rebel XSi from this company. The package included lots of extra goodies, basically a complete package that, if purchases separately, was going to cost me about $2,000, if not more. The package was $764 on eBay. That, of course, sounded too good to be true, which usually means that it is too good to be true. The company had good reviews on eBay but I did find some bad things about them at other places on the Internet. Having been in retail myself, I understand that there are going to be some problems occasionally, and I also understand that some people are never satisfied. So I decided to buy the package.

Everything went smoothly until my credit card was declined because the address didn't match the shipping address. That didn't make sense to me since I have had the credit card for 5 years and lived at my shipping address for 5 years and never had a problem buying anything online, until now. Uh-oh.

After working with my bank -- there was a problem -- I thought I had things resolved. Finally, Marianna from Pyxis told me what to do and then she also called my bank. Problem resolved.

Once the credit card issue was resolved, the package came on time as promised. Everything was complete -- unopened new packages, all packing materials present, warranty cards present, everything as promised.

I've spent the last few days testing out everything and all is working just fine.

Thanks to Pyxis for a job well done, better than well done. Thanks to Marianna for the knowledge she had, and the willingness to use it, to go above and beyond when my bank didn't know what to do.

"A flawless transaction! I bought a Canon 18-200 IS lens from them on eBay. They shipped it the following day by UPS and provided the tracking number. Three days later it arrived with USA warranty card. I couldn't be happier with this experience!

I came across this site after placing the order and I admit I was a little concerned. Not too concerned, though, because of eBay and Paypal protection. Nonetheless, I am extremely pleased with this transaction and will likely buy from them again!

"I purchased and paid for a Canon 24-105mm lens from Pyxis on ebay on April 27. Six days later, on May 3, I hadn't heard anything from them. I emailed them and asked when I might receive the lens or at least a tracking number. The next day, they replied, "Your order is currently processing.
We will be emailing you with all of the tracking details within the next 48 hours.."
On May 5, I received an email from them stating that they had shipped the item and provided a tracking number. I tracked it with "Billing information received" being the result. I waited three more days and checked the tracking info again with the same message. I sent another email to Pyxis stating that it's been 12 days now and I still don't have the lens or any idea when I'd receive it. "David Brooks" emailed the following day asking me to contact him to review my order and to compensate me for the delay. I called him and he gave me a messed up story about a problem at their warehouse. I reluctantly accepted the filter kit he threw in as compensation. TWO WEEKS AFTER I PAID, I called again and spoke to "John Corbett" who said the shipment of lenses including mine had been damaged and they're sending a new one to me. John assured me it would be here on Friday, the 15th. Today, the 14th, I received (without a phone call or other notification) a Paypal refund for the purchase price. I called again and spoke to David who played dumb and couldn't answer any questions I had. He hesitated to give me a supervisor's name and told me he wasn't there anyway. SHADY dealings with these folks. I'm glad I got my money back, but missed out on taking great pics with this lens at my son's school program, my daughter's birthday party and other events.

"Bought a Canon 5D Mark II Body.

Should have read the other reviews before I bought from them. Definitely shady business there. The item was shipped slowly. And when I got it, it did not come with any documentation regarding WARRANTY! Their price is cheap, and the product I got seems legit so far, but they took away my warranty card. I would be cautious when dealing with them. Definitely put it on credit card, at least if somethings happens, you have card member service to back you up. The auction also claimed that the item was never opened. It is obvious that they opened it. Since The box that came with was a Canon 5D Mark II KIT, they took out the lens to sell separately. But why they would take away the warranty documentation is weird...

"BUYER BEWARE, be very aware. This company is definitely not doing 100% legitimate business. Bought a Canon 5d Mark II on eBay. Item was described as "Brand New" with USA Warranty. Well, the camera didn't come with a warranty card. Customer service rep, MARK, said it was a miscommunication at the warehouse. I've seen the same issue from other buyers who reviewed this company. Also, since the company is not a Canon authorized dealer, the warranty is not valid, even if I had the warranty card. This information if from Canon Corporate Headquarters. I called, they ran the serial number on the camera and said they've had issues with this seller before and that my warranty isn't valid. The camera was a USA model, but still no warranty. I called Pyxis camera to resolve this issue and MARK assured me Canon was lying to me. "It depends on who you talk to. Fifty percent with tell you one thing and the other 50% will tell you something else." Why would Canon LIE to me?? MARK also "read" to me the conditions on the warranty card. He conveniently did not read the line that states, "this warranty card must be presented at time of warranty service." He denies leaving that part out, even though I have the conversation tape recorded. MARK also tried to fix the issues by offering an extra after-market battery and free extended warranty through a no-name, shady warranty service called CPS Central. Then he asked if I'd, "do me a favor and leave 5-star positive feedback." Yeah right. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE."

"I've purchased two higher priced items from Pyxis on ebay- a Canon 5D Mark II body and 24-105mm L lens. While they are a little slow to ship, I found them fairly reliable and prices were always lower than others I could find. However, it appears that neither item came with any Canon warranty paperwork. I called their customer service, which said that I could register with Canon online, but this doesn't change the fact that they seem to deliberately exclude paperwork that should come with the products. I suspect grey market shenanigans here, so just be aware of it. "

"I purchased a Nikon D60 camera kit, the camera and lenses were new as stated they are not grey market junk. But they are slow to process the order, the add listed capture NX2 software that was not included, when I called he company they said it is only a trial version (that is not how the add reads) I would not recommend this company to a friend"

"I PURCHASED A G10 CANON KIT FROM PYXIS. AFTER PURCHASE I STARTED TO READ SOME OF THESE REVIEWS. I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT FOR ME THE PURCHASE EXPERIENCE WAS VERY PLEASANT. YES I DID HAVE TO CALL TO CONFIRM MY PURCHASE BUT THERE WAS NO HARD SALES PITCH. WHEN I CALLED FOR A TRACKING NUMBER THE REP GAVE IT TO ME WITHOUT PROBLEMS AND THEN A FEW HOURS LATER IT APPEARED ONLINE. THE DAY AFTER THE TRACKING NUMBER WAS ISSUED THE CAMERA ARRIVED. IT WAS EXACTLY AS ORDERED. IT IS NOT GREY MARKET. ORIGINAL SEALED BOX ALL US WARRANTIES. I MUST SAY IT WAS A GREAT PURCHASE.I AM TOTALLY SATISFIED AND WOULD PURCHASE FROM THIS MERCHANT AGAIN IF NEEDED.THERE ARE BAD TIMES WITH EVEN THE BEST. GIVE THESE PEOPLE A CHANCE"

"I purchased a Canon 450D from Pyxis on eBay on the 10th of November 2008. When I phoned to confirm the order, a salesman by the name of Abe convinced me to take a couple of extra goodies along with the original order. One of them being a $300 extended warranty because I live in South Africa and this camera wouldn't be covered by Canon South Africa's warranty.
I agreed and paid. Two weeks later I received the shipment from Pyxis just to discover that the camera didn't work. I attempted to contact Pyxis / aka Sunshine Electronics numerous times and no one answered both via email and phone (from South Africa). I then tried to contact RepairTech (the warranty people) and after a lot of vague answers, discovered that the RepairTech warranty isn't valid in South Africa.
Here I now have a camera which doesn't function properly and a $300 warranty which is useless. I eventually get hold of Pyxis Cameras and speak to "Dexter Carr" who is apparently the Customer Relations Manager.
Mr. Carr tells me that I could send the camera back to Canon USA for warranty repair or pay for it to be done by Canon South Africa. As for the “Extended Warranty” I should package and return the warranty (at my expense) and they (Pyxis Cameras) will refund me upon receipt of the goods.
I did just that, fortunately with TNT express so I could track the return shipment. I get no feedback for two weeks after them taking receipt of the warranty. I then jump on the phone again and wait for 30 minutes for an answer, "JP" (who is another Customer relations manager) answers and tells me he doesn't have it but he will find it and make sure the refund is done.
I leave it a further week and phone again (another 30 minutes), I get hold of John in sales this time, John tells me that there was an attempt to refund the money for the warranty but they can't because I live in South Africa.
I then contact PayPal and they send me instructions on how Pyxis Cameras should do this, no strange procedures or anything, just straight forward refund. I email these instructions to Pyxis Cameras and wait another week.
Phone again, I speak to JP again, he hasn’t received the email so I send it again while speaking to him on the phone. That was 3 weeks ago, still no refund. Now I have to look at the cost of my telephone calls and what will I get back, if anything and still carry the cost of repairing the camera.
This whole Sunshine Electronics / Pyxis Cameras setup are a bunch of thieving liars. In all the years dealing with PayPal / eBay, bearing in mind that I am sending and receiving internationally, I have never been robbed or taken for a ride like this, I just can’t understand how they get away with this, there has to be a way to make them responsible for their actions.

"I Bought a Canon DSLR package from Pyxis Camera, a.k.a. Shopsunshine on ebay. Horrible experience. The camera came with a cheaper lens in an original cameraand lens kit box in which the original canon lens lens was removed and replaced with a cheaper Tamron film af slr lens. Although the camera was advertised as with the Tamron lens, the item was also advertised as never opened. Most of the accessories in the package were cheap junk. No warrantee card. I Noticed serial numbers were broken/scratched, not printed correctly on bottom of camera. Ran index finger over number one time and serial number wiped off the bottom of the camera--"what is this?", I thought? Called Canon and confirmed that that should not happen and was told item could be gray market. Returned the camera for refund, and Pyxis wanted to charge restocking fee. Received refund only after arguing with sales manager and complaining about the serial number issue and after agreeing to give positive feedback on ebay.

The only thing positive that I can say about this experience is that they issued the refund (after an argument, of course--and I got the impression that if it had not been for the serial number issue, of which he had no answer for--they would not have refunded without a restocking fee). I had wanted this item for Christmas and of course did not get it because of the return. Use this merchant if you will, I won't again.

BTW I got a much better deal from amazon with no serial numbers wiping off, proper lens, and all warrantee cards included, and an extra software CD included with the package.
