"When I ordered on Wednesday Sept. 23rd the Panasonic website showed in stock. I ordered with overnight shipping. It didn't ship Wednesday, so I called on Thursday and was told it takes 24-48 hours to "load" for shipping, which I bought. Email on Friday to ask for tracking information and I was told it wouldn't be available until Monday, the 28th. Ok, I'm getting angry, but I'll buy it, again. Email yesterday (the 28th) and they told me it wouldn't be available until 10/15 - that's it, not ok. Just got off the phone this morning after canceling my order and explaining that I knew of one other person to order the day after me and already received their camera. They said it was probably a difference in confirmation times for our credit cards - I doubt that very much, I've dealt with credit card processing in my own job for too long.

I told her I wanted it canceled and then she asked why. I explained the entire debacle and she tried to tell me that the only other retailer that will have this camera is Amazon and they aren't delivering those for 2 months. I explained that I felt it was a bit ridiculous that a website shows a camera in stock (particularly the manufacturer of said camera) yet gives it's customers the run around. She tried to get me to leave the order as-is by explaining that Panasonic will be the only company to have the camera for quite some time and that the delivery date of 10/15 was for me, not for a new order if I decided to order later. I said, "Then I'll either order again when the camera is available for shipping, or I'll buy a different camera." I'm sure she didn't like that very much by the tone in her voice.

This is absolutely insane.

"This experience is the worst ever encountered with the online shop of a major brand. I ordered a camera, which was displayed as available, I was called to confirm the delivery address for immediate shipment, since it differed from my payment address and I received nothing. After more than two weeks of waiting in vain, I contacted Panasonic indicating that I had not received my shipment, only to learn that the item is on back order and that Panasonic as the manufacturer has no idea, when I would become available again. If you plan to use whatever you order in the near future, order elsewhere, these guys do not know how to operate an online store, keep customers informed about unforeseen problems and manage order fulfilment. Every small online retailer, I have dealt with up to now, is providing more professional service."

"Maybe Panasonic has changed their system, but I didn't run into any of the problems some other reviewers mentioned. I placed an order through my work sponsored discount and everything went great. I got a 50" HDTV and immediately received notification via email. I ordered late on Saturday, so the order probably wasnt placed till Monday morning, and yet I still recieved it on Thursday. The shipping company called to set up a time/date within a 4 hour window to pick it up and accurately called me that day to let me know they would be arriving in half an hour. I never had to deal with Panasonic's customer service because everthing went so smoothly. Very satisfied with service and speed, but obviously without the discount or a sale, I'd look elsewhere on price. "

"I ordered a 15-pack of DVD-RAM directly from Panasonic on Jan 15. They sent the wrong item, a 5-pack instead of 15-pack. After arranging for a free return with Customer Service (very competent, with American reps), they cancelled the return and just sent me a new 15-pack free of charge, ie I was able to keep the extra 5-pack. I'm thus very happy with Panasonic Direct, will buy from them again."

"I bought a Panasonic TZ1 camera from Crutchfield without realizing that it only had a 90 day labor warr and at 95 days I started having a problem with the flash and shutter not being in sync, I got black or extremly blownout photos with flash. When I check on several digital camera forums on the inernet, I found that many people all over the world was having the same problem, I contacted Chrutchfield (my 1st time to contact Crutchfield except to place an order) to see if they would check with Panasonic to see if they had an inherent problem with the TZ1. Crutchfield's response was: talk to Panasonic, don't talk to us!

When I called and talked to a Panasonic Tech Rep I was told that there was no problem with the TZ1 and that Panasonic did not respond to anything written on the inernet. I talked at great lenghts with the rep, but all I got from her was the impression that: Panasonic does no wrong, only Panasonic knows what is going on with their products, what people write on the internet is worthless, the customer is dumb and always get things screwedup when it comes to problems with a Panasonic product (note: I'm a currently a manufacturing Quality Assurance Manager with 28 years of digital electronics manufacturing experience). The main question I posed was: if Panasonic was not reconizing that this camera had this type of problem, how would I know that I would not have the same problem show up later on after the camera was repaired. Her response was: if it did, things like that just happens, but it would not be Panasonic's fault!!!!

Well I've bought a lot of product from Panasonic and told many other people to buy Panasonic, but no longer, I'll be buying some other band in the future, after all: I'm not dumb, I know when a company has an inherent problem in a product and I can buy another brand of product(after all things like that just happens!!!!!).

I just bought a Canon S3 IS and it has a 1 Yr labor warr like the other brands, not the 90 day that Panasonic puts on theirs (I guess that is as long as Panasonic thinks their product will last) and I'm sure that if I have a problem Casnon will be able to beat or match Panasonic's response: things like that just happens! In addition I'm am trashing the TZ1 camera and I am in the process of buying a Canon SD700 IS (it has a real warr of 1 yr labor/parts warr). So good by Panasonic, I hope you get a lot of customers with all those wonderful adds you put on tv and etc., but you won't keep them long with your lousy labor warr and your Tech Rep's lousy attitude towards a customer that IS NOT DUMB!!!!!!!!!!

" I have purchased directly from Panasonic twice and both times it went without a hitch. This time I ordered on Monday and received the items on Thursday. Previously the DVD recorder arrived almost as fast along with a mail in certificate for free discs.

It is true they do not send conformation emails which is unsettling but you can check order status, which proved to be accurate, on the website. Other than that my experience was completely positive.

"I am going to second a previous posting here:

DO NOT ORDER FROM PANASONIC!!!

I saw a great discount for the 50" Plasma TH-50PX500U through my CBS employee discount. So, I placed the order on August 8 and the web site stated that the produt would be delivered on or about Aug 15. The first problem was that I never received an e-mail confirmation of my order.

Then, when I tried to login to the web site from work, since I forgot my password, I reset the password. Of course, again, never got the e-mail with my resetted password. I tried this at least 10 times over the next few days - and now 10 days later, still can't login.

But, that was the small problem. Since I can't login to the web, I resorted to calling 1-***-***-**** starting on Aug 15 to find out whether the product was shipped or not. Over the next 4 days, I called 5 times (twice on the last day, 20 minutes apart). Each time, the sales person said that their system is down, it just went down, and they can't check my order status just yet and to please call back.

The last time I called, the sales person clearly stated that the system just went down 20 minutes ago. And, guess what, I called twenty minutes ago and that sales person said the system went down twenty minutes before that. This lead me to believe that they either have a very broken system, or don't have one at all that allow them to track orders (I hope it not the latter).

Anyway, I read a lot of good things about the 50" plasma screen. I saw it at the store and it looks great. So, Panasonic obvioulsy knows how to make TVs. They just don't know how to get these great TVs to their customers.

Buy the TV from someone else, who knows how to take a product and put it in a consumer's home. Panasonic is obviously clueless about how to do that.

"I ordered several items from Panasonic.com. I purchased them through my UPS employee discount offer between the companies. However the service I received was HORRIBLE. The website is EXTREMELY poorly designed! The order system is horrible compared to other websites I have purchased from. Items DO NOT APPEAR TO BE OUT OF STOCK!!! 2 of my items for a HOME THEATER were delayed. The first one from order UPS0001521408 was supposed to ship on the 8th of April. If it was to be back ordered later I was to be notified. It was not shipped till 3 weeks later! I was never notified! I had to contact Panasonic 3 times before getting a straight answer that it was delayed! Yet still their website said it was available for SHIPPING today. My second item from order UPS0001522866 was a center channel which was supposed to ship within 45 days. (I had expected this delay and was fine because of the decent price). However after repeated emails to Panasonic I got no answer on any ship date. Out of the blue on Thursday I was sent an email saying my order was canceled because the item was discontinued and they had no replacement items.

THIS HAS BEEN MY WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE FROM ANY ONLINE RETAILER!!!

I am surprised that a large corporation like Panasonic does not have their things together to notify customer about delays or discontinued products. Or at least have any decency to notify their customers other then email or at least offering some sort of solution rather then not CARING ABOUT THE CUSTOMER!


DO NOT SHOP FROM PANASONIC

GO TO A BETTER COMPANY LIKE NEWEGG or any top rated company. IT IS NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE!!!!
