Stay away!

"I order by internet all the time. This is the worse experience I have had in years! Orders sit in limbo for weeks. Communications cry that they are receiving a high number of orders and the Covid excuse. It's been a year since lockdown. It took two weeks to ship for one order and I am now trying to exchange a product and it too is taking a month. Impossible to contact other than email and they don't respond. Unless you don't need the product in your lifetime, stay away. Don't be swayed by their prices and free shipping. It is the slowest shipping method in the US> "

Still waiting for orders placed almost a year ago

"I've placed an order for ammo at Optics Planet in July 2020 which listed as in stock. Once order is placed, the status changed to being ordered. I checked in each month only to be told I will receive my order the following month. This is being ongoing for almost a year and if you do call their Customer Service, you will be place on hold indefinitely. One of the worst shopping experience I've ever had. Stay My order current status is 'Expected to be shipped on 1/27/2020'. STAY AWAY !!!!"

Bait and Switch Company. AVOID!!!

"I've ordered from Optics Planets twice now. Both times, at least one of the items I ordered was listed as "Backordered" with an estimated shipping time of between 7-18 days. As soon as my order was placed, my shipping status now says delivery is expected in THREE MONTHS! But, if you go to the item, it still says "7-18 days". This happened not once, but twice. If you want firearms related products delivered in a timely manner, avoid Optics Planet at all cost."

Be ware of Optics Planet! OP should be your LAST choice!

"They appear to have no idea what is in stock, and have ZERO customer service. An order Feb 24 is still processing for something that was supposedly in stock, but an order Feb 28 has shipped. No reps are answering phone calls, messages, or emails.

I used to order from OP without a second thought, but now I only order from them if I can’t find a product anywhere else... LAST RESORT type order.

OP uses all kinds of excuses why they are lousy, but companies like Midway USA still operates great and doesn’t make any excuses.

They don't know what the gun laws are for each state so they just restrict everything.

"I have a permanently pinned mag on my AR so I can have whatever features I want on it. I ordered 3 flash suppressors which would be illegal if I had a removable magazine, but I don't and they canceled my order. You can also buy ammo online if you have it sent to an FFL, Opticsplanet refuses to sell ammo to NY. So this company refuses to sell legal items to it's customers, they are not 2A friendly and they don't respect your rights as a citizen of the USA protected by the second amendment. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Your money will be better spent at a company that doesn't infringe on your rights. The Constitution is the supreme law of the land and any law infringing on your second amendment is VOID."

Poor Service when their Shipper loses a package

"I paid for expedited shipping, and when UPS lost the package, they told me that I would have to wait for 15 BUSINESS DAYS before they would take action. I will file a complaint with my credit card company."

In-stock is NOT in-stock / poor company

"Ordered the ATACR 7x35x56 scope with mounting rings on January 14th and both Items were “In-stock” After 3 weeks the in-stock mounting rings had finally shipped. Then 4 weeks had passed and hours spent on the phone Just to be told they don’t know why the in-stock scope had not shipped yet and couldn’t give any estimate on when it would ship. Decided to cancel the order because I bought the scope from someone else that wasn’t going to **** me around but..... since the mounting rings had shipped I was told it’s there protocol to not change an order once any of its items have shipped.
Now I have to wait for god knows how many more additional weeks or months longer for the “in-stock”scope to finally ship all so I can fill out an MRA request, pay for re-shipping and then wait an additional two more weeks for refund.
With all the time I’ve spent speaking with OpticsPlanet representatives I can say the company is unorganized with very poor Internal communication within its departments.
Save yourself the stress and buy your product elsewhere!

STAY AWAY!!

"I cannot stress this enough. Order from any other company!!! For any product they actually have on the shelf, it should be received in a reasonable time. In my case, a $600+ optic that was "in-stock"...not so much. Order placed early January. Here we are, 5 weeks later and still no shipping confirmation. A dozen plus calls has resulted in two actual contacts. The last, two plus weeks ago that assured me the optic was in-stock and I would have a shipping confirmation the following Monday. Two weeks later...crickets. Multiple emails, that are usually responded to in 5-7 days...continuing to whine about these "unprecedented times". They have even gone as far to blame UPS. Stating something close to "they are limiting the number of packages we can ship per day." After some research on BBB and Consumer Affairs...a high number of customers are having orders floated. They are selling "in-stock" product that they don't even have. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!"

It's either Fraud or unbelievable incompetence

"Bottom Line: I've had it with this company, do not do business with them.

On January 14th I purchased a nearly $2000 telescope from them. They sure didn't take long verifying my payment credentials and charging my card, and my order status was upgraded to "Processing" soon after. Now it's February 4th.

I have repeatedly attempted to contact them, receiving emailed replies which included gems like "I am showing items are in stock. Your order has been approved and packaged for shipping. Once it ships, we will email you the tracking information. We apologize for the inconvenience."

They almost never pick up their phone. I finally got through to someone today after hours of calling, and she was very sympathetic and offered me a discount... but that doesn't help me. She couldn't check with the warehouse to see what was going on, she couldn't give me a number for the warehouse, and it seems like the company just doesn't have any interest in giving their customer service reps the power necessary to make a difference. I can't even cancel my order. She told me to wait until the middle of next week and only then would I be able to talk to a supervisor.

At this point they have completely ruined my faith in their company. I'm going to wait another week and see if anything ships, but if it doesn't I'm going straight to my cred card company and claiming fraud/theft. Then I'm going to call whatever police department I have to in order to get my money back.

All they have to do is answer the phone when I call, let me talk to the warehouse directly, or provide any form of dialogue and open discourse. They have done none of that. I could deal with a 1-2 month wait if they had said so up front, but the fact that they said it would ship out within 7 days and they can't even tell me why it's delayed makes me think they are either intentionally trying to rob me, or they simply don't care enough to fix their obvious problems.

If they can't fulfill orders they should stop taking orders.

Worst company I’ve experienced

"I ordered a scope that was In stock and supposed to be in 5-10 business days. They emailed me the next day saying that they can’t get it to me for 7-9 months. I tried calling multiple times and they give you a message saying they aren’t responding to voicemails and then send you to voicemail. If you go online to talk to customer support, you wait in line to get a message saying they don’t have any customer support available so leave a message and they’ll get it as soon as possible. I get Covid is a problem but you should never cut your entire customer support and shipping should not be delayed 7-9 months for any reason."

If You Want It In A Hurry Forget About OpticsPlanet...

"Their website stated the item I was wanting was in stock when I ordered and it came with a 1 to 7 day shipping window. It's now been 10 days since ordering and it still shows in Processing. Contacted Gabriel with a Chat Window and they now state that their warehouse is overwhelmed with orders and they are at least 2 weeks behind on their shipping but it's funny that their site still states shipping within the 1 to 7 days. I asked him what the worst case scenario would be on my order and he would not give me any time frame but just repeated it would be shipped as soon as they could get to it. Sounds like poor management and a lack of employees. It was strange that 2 days after placing that order I placed another with OpticsPlanet it shipped in just under 7 days so go figure. I have since decided that although their prices are competitive there are other gear companies online that provide better prices with less than a 2 day turn-around so I will OpticsPlanet as my "go to" gear dealer in the future..."

Worst customer service I have ever had.

"The products and prices are good, UNLESS you expect to get all your items on a timely date. I ordered several times (ALL IN STOCK) on 26 Dec 2020, it is now 11 Jan 2021. One of the items still says processing (since DEC 27th.), I tried calling multiple times and have yet to get a person, wait and wait and wait and all of a sudden I get hung up on. SO I emailed them, twice 2 weeks ago and last week, still NO response. I have used their "chat" function twice, both times with utterly pathetic results, no answers just canned apologies. I just want an answer. I finally asked to speak to a manager and I was told I will be contacted in 1-5 days.. I requested my order to be cancelled last week, checked a week later, it still says processing. I requested it again when I just chatted. This company is utterly devoid of any customer service. The bad part is, my other orders have been great, but if you have an issue, you might as well bash your head against the wall, you will get more results."

Constant delays on ammunition shipment

"They will let you order ammo that they don't have in stock, then constantly send you updates that say they don't know when it will ship. I've waited over 2 months now on an order I've placed, and just got another email from them saying they don't know when it will ship. Other vendors will not let you order things that are not in stock. Take my advice and DO NOT order ammunition from this vendor."
