"Found Nice Electronics while searching for a Samsung 55" TV on Google Shopping. Let me stay up front (before I go into more detail) that I had no problems with Nice Electronics. I dealt with Nick Tate. He gave me a good price, delivered the TV within a reasonable amount of time, and provided decent customer service. I would buy from them again.

Now to expand a bit, if you're here reading this rating, you probably got here through the ratings on Google Shopping, perhaps looking for a TV like I did. Buying a TV through Google Shopping is a bit like the Wild West. If you call the 3 "cheapest" providers, you probably called East Coast TV, Abe's of Maine, and Nice Electronics. And you probably figured out that the price listed by all 3 isn't really the price you end up paying. It's all part of the game. I bought a Samsung. The "cheapest prices" listed are for Samsung TVs sure, but for the non-USA models, and likely with a knock-off screen and not the Samsung screen. So then you have to figure out the "real" price for the USA model, because if you buy the cheaper non-USA models, the plugs are different and the smart TV apps may or may not work in the USA.

Then there's shipping. Yeah, it might be free, but if the shipper has to climb a flight of stairs to get the TV into your house, it costs extra. If you want the shipper to open the box and plug in the TV to make sure it works and the screen isn't cracked before they leave, it costs extra. One retailer (not Nice Electronics) told me that if I didn't buy the upgraded shipping and stayed with the "free" shipping, I'd have to pay a hefty insurance fee. So make sure the "free shipping" is really free.

So you're on the phone with Nice Electronics, Abe's of Maine, and East Coast TVs and it's like you're talking to a stall owner at an Egyptian Bazaar. Not so much with Nice Electronics, but certainly with Abe's and East Coast. There's haggling, there's short, curt answers to your questions, and there's sales pressure for upgraded shipping (I thought it was free?), extended warranties, and such.

Then there's the shipper. They're likely using a discount shipper, and when you go to their website, the tracking of your very expensive TV will be next to worthless. When you call the shipper, you'll be put on hold for long periods of time if they answer the phone at all. I had AM Home Delivery, whose customer service was pretty sucky, which then handed off my TV to Top Hat shipping when it got to my city for local delivery. Top Hat was fine, but pretty much "assigned" me a shipping time. Having read the reviews about these discount shippers, I just accepted the time and rearranged my schedule. I just wanted to get the TV out of the shipper's hands.

When the guys showed up to drop off my TV, they were surprisingly professional and did a good job unpacking the TV and make sure it worked (white glove shipping, included in price with Nice Electronics, not with Abe's and East Coast when I got prices from them).

So that's what to expect if you go outside the traditional retail route. I saved a good $400 on my TV going through Nice Electronics vs. a big box store or Amazon.com, but you have to know what you expect. Of the three, Nice Electronics was the best retailer to deal with and delivered what they promised.

"Excellent customer service! My order was held in the "Processing" status and when I called to find out why. It was explained to me that I ordered the South American version of the Samsung 65HU9000. I spoke with Alfred who educated me on the differences of the US version & the South American version, saving me a huge headache had I accepted delivery of the South American version. Alfred proceeded to give me a great deal on my US version TV. I couldn't be more pleased!"

"Alfred is the MAN!!! I ordered the wrong TV online, I sent a email to ask for the ship date and Nick sent me a email back asking me to contact Alfred, when I contacted him, we where discussing the TV I had ordered online and realized I had ordered the wrong TV. Alfred gave me some other options, and I end up ordering a lot nicer TV for the same money.
