Modani Furniture Paramus NJ

"Terrible experience with Modani Paramus. I contacted them on April 17th to do my home design, sent them all measurements, and what kind of furniture I wanted. The person who was dealing with me name Richard vanished after a few emails and informed me that his manager will contact me. No one contacted for quite a few days. Upon inquiring they assigned MR RiCARDO and I had a terrible experience with this guy, rude, and informed me that he is crazy busy and can't do much.
It was a waste of my time, I am very disappointed with their services.

Terrible customer service

"The delivery time is a nightmare , and they don't care, purchased 2 items on Dec 16, told it was available for the soonest delivery time which is Jan 2, did the payment over the phone , since that no one contacted me for the delivery time, called the store on Dec 28 to confirm the delivery time and found out they actually can not make it on Jan 2, while I already schedule my time off on that day to wait for the delivery, the store informed me that they can do Jan 7 or Jan 9, and guess what, again no one contact me for the delivery time after that , I am THE ONE again call the store to confirm the time and find out again they can't delivery my items till Jan 14. I just remodeling the house and have my parents here to visit me, it's really disappointed that I can't even show them the house completed furnitured , I asked the store what's the reason cause the delay , the lady who handled my case said they requested the delivery time too late, really ?? why someone in your company failed to do their job and I have to suffer ?? everyone seems so nice in the store, but deeply inside I know they don't care their customers or the business , it just a job and I am just another complaining customer , what they don't know is that they are not only losing a customer for good, also anyone who wants to buy furniture I will for sure tell them not to go to Modani in Costa Mesa "

Edit: They fixed it!

"EDIT: they fixed it, they finally replaced the whole couch with a new one. Even though it took them over half a year, I'm glad they still listened. Thanks!

Bought a sectional sofa from them back in August this year (2019) - specifically asked for firm cushions - but received a mix of 1 firm and 2 soft. Contacted them on the same day to request a replacement of the cushions but nobody answered. Sent an email the same day but no response as well. Called the whole day the next day, but still no response. Sent another email and they got back to me on the third day - they said they will send a replacement a week later.

The replacements were still the same - they weren't even in plastics so I'm guessing the cushions were all used ones. We tried calling again and they offered to have it replaced in October (which is when the next production was coming in). Now it's November, and I get 0 responses. I also contacted them earlier in October because on of the sections literally COLLAPSED - and we hardly used it! I sent multiple emails with photos over a span of a few days, and got 0 responses. Nobody is answering their phones either.

We tried going to the physical store we bought it from and the salespeople were nice and accommodating and told me they would reach out, but still, nothing happened - and it's been over a month.

They just don't care

"Horrible customer experience. Bought a dining table and chairs online. Delivered a marble top with a gigantic crack in the middle. Was told by deliveryman that they will replace it, and I just have to attest to the fact that I request a replacement. No communication from Modani. Emailed them the picture the same day. No response. Called the next Day, after half an hour on hold they hung up. Called the next day, this time they forwarded me to answer machine land. I emailed, left voice message and called again. I told them I am not happy with the experience, but was told the person in charge is having lunch and they will get back to me. They never did.
They certainly convinced me of the unprofessionalism. If you want the same experience, go ahead and buy from them, otherwise save your hard earned cash for a business worthy of your trust.

Bought a 4000 piece of furniture that fell apart DAYS later

"We bought a sectional sofa that had reclining pieces. The first time it was delivered, it had a big stain so they exchanged it. The second time, the delivery guys literally ran away to not have to check anything. The reclining pieces came unlatched within a week and when we called to inquire about it, they referred us to the protection plan. The protection plan they sell does not cover structural damages in the first year as that is considered manufacturer defect. No manufacturer warranty so we are SOL with a giant broken piece of furniture... Their design consultants only care about their commission so once the sale is made, they couldn't care less about you or your issues with the new furniture. "

It was hardly used and last week it collapsed!!

Stay away from this company!!!!

What is cheap today will be expensive in the future!!!

Horrible product horrible warranty

"we purchased a dresser and a 2 night stands from Modani, we payed to have it delivered and assembeld in less then 7months the drawers were getting hard to open and close, so we called Modani in Manhatten concering our problem they asked us to call customer service , customer service said thier is NO Warranty , (I asked why), cusmter service said that the warranty is 3 day after delivery, i said 3DAY ARE YOU KIDDING ME, so I asked customer service what can we do, customer service said that they could send out a service guy to fix it, and that it would cost $150 FOR THE SERVICE CALL PLUS , what ever it would cost to fix it, but before they would send anybody out i would need to pay the service charge in advance, and once the payment clears they would send the service guy out, is this a joke, so we had a friend come by a take a look and what he found was all the screw were loose and who ever did the assembly didnt do a good job securing the hardware, POOR QUAILTY THROUGH & THROUGH, THERE WARRANTY IS A JOKE, our fault for not asking, we would never buy anything from here ever again.

Modavi mistepresents what it sells

"Went to the store looking for outdoor furniture while my wife was out ot town. Saw a stiltte I liked. She arrived teo hours later , picked her up at the airport and returned to the store. After looking ar various styles , choose thr onr I likedc mainly because the displayed item had cushions on the lounge chairs. We bought the entire set as displayed. Took photos. When delivered the lounge chairs cushions were missing and some other items stained. Receipt wss noted and delivery and replacement promised. 24 hours before the delivery, we were called and told that the loungers did not bring cushions and that they were there “because a custmernbgad put them there briefly,” when they were there in both of my visits over two hours apart. The Oprions given by the so call costumer service department after even seeting the photo os the purchase qmade were to return the loungers and then be stuck with an incomplete outdoor furniture set. If set was returned they would charge a 35% re stocking fee , 0ver $3000 ! Don’r buy from this company . They have zero comsumer interest, are just classless ."

"Many goods from the site which available for purchase online are really out of stock or even discontinued. Money has not returned for a long time, despite it was canceled by the fault of the Modani store."

Very unprofessional company, dont buy!

"Horrible customer experience for 2 reasons:

1) Made an online order, 2 weeks later (after no contact from the company) I called the contact center and I was informed they actually dint have the furniture they sold (not ETA when they would have). If I hadn't called them, I would still be waiting for my furniture

2) Went to the store to buy the same furniture, paid urgent delivery fee ($300!) to receive it from Miami. They said I would receive the furniture in 2 weeks, after 3.5 weeks I received the furniture (the 2 night stands were ok, the coffee table was broken and the picture frame was scratchy). No ETA when they would be able to replace the broken items and I will need to receive the refund.

I had at least 3 other friends that had similar issues with the Modani. If you dont want have any type headache buy your stuff from other companies. There is no reason for accepting this unprofessional and poor customer service.

Dissapointed

"Bought a Phantom couch for $1800 last year at 40E 19th street in Manhattan, and 8 month later, as I moved furnitures in my living room, I noticed a huge crack on the woden frame at the bottom. I noticed that staples has been applied on that cracked area - very slappy job. So I called the store and the customer service in Florida just reminded me the policies (no warranty and no reparation) and offered me a $100 store credit ! What is that for ?
I simply asked to investigate on quality inspection. They just said that all items are sold brand new ! What a nice answer ! I got screwed !
