"I purchased 2 set of Swap Magic PS2 Boot Disc from this company on Jan 12th. They charged my card the next day and sent me an email stating that my order was processed. I have not received the items, nor will they respond to numerous emails I have sent. Take your cash and flush it down the toilet, you'll get the same result as ModChipStore.com!"

"Total rip off! I bought a simple chip from this store at the beginning of December and never recived it. After numerous e-mail and phone messages, they sent an e-mail back and said the item was no longer made so they would send a replacement. They never did. There is no response to phone or e-mail messages anymore. They took my money and ran. Don't shop at this store. You will be sorry!"

"Absolutely terrible. Ordered Dec 15 and got the "order processed" email and have heard nothing since. Have called and emailed multiple times with no response. Have now contacted Visa to dispute the charges. Will never buy from again!! Avoid this seller like the plague!!!"

"My wife ordered me a PS2 SwapMagic device on December 6, 2009 and received an email on Dec 11 saying that she had been billed and that the order was "processed." We waited the 15 business days for the package to arrive, but got nothing. It's now January 25 and we have sent them four emails to various addresses found on their site, and have called them several times. Each time we call, the automated system immediately says that they have a lot of calls but then allows you to choose billing/sales/etc. When you dial one of those branches, the system just says that they are busy and has you leave a message. I have never seen that from a company before. On our last call, I asked for our money back and have not heard back yet."

"These people are quick to take your money but thats it! I finally got them to cancel my order and refund me after 4 weeks. All their items say in stock but everything is on backorder and who knows when they will come in. Terrible service!"

"This company has got to be one of the most incompetent merchants ever. I placed an order on September 21st for 2 R4 chips for the DS. After 15 business days (the email said US order may take up to 14 business days to arrive), I attempted to call them every days since then. I've also sent 3 emails regarding the status of my email. Finally, I googled other people's experience and sent in an email threatening to take legal action. They finally responded with "I have started a trace on your package and within 1-3 days the post office shall provide us with a claim
number, at which time we shall re-send your package to you.We're not certain
why, but we do know that about 10% of our shipments are not arriving.

Please do accept our most sincere apologies. We'll do all we have to do to make sure you get the item in
your hands.". I do not trust these people anymore and do not recommend to anyone.

"I ordered 5 R4 modchips for Nintendo DS. I waited 3 weeks and had no word from modchipsstore.com. I emailed them and got a reply that the order had been stopped at customs, but it had no tracking number that I could trace. They then sent me another email stating that they had resent the package expedited with a tracking number so I could trace its whereabouts. This was sent from Canada 3 weeks after the original order. The second order confirmed that the packages had in fact been held up in Customs for some length of time. I FINALLY received my package today, 7 weeks after I ordered it.

Although it took time to get here, modchipstore was prompt at returning my emails, and eventually got the package to me. I think the issue here is with the postage and not the company selling them.

Just thought others might like to hear this, because after reading all the other reviews I thought I had been scammed!!

"Bought a swapdisk for the ps2 YEARS ago and still haven't received it...place the order on Friday, October 19, 2007. I have submitted many tickets but they never respond to them. Their "Live" support is always offline.

On my bank account transaction log the payment was made to a place called "console source".

Avoid this site at all cost, and you could find other sites for those type of items.

"In years prior, I had ordered items through Modchipstore.com and, while the transactions weren't great, they weren't horrible, either. However, after my last order with them, I am through.

I placed an order with them on 8/6/2009. They were plenty prompt with charging my card but, actually shipping the product? That's another story.

First of all, good luck with getting a person to answer their lines -- that didn't happen for me. So, I resorted to email which, in the end, turned out to be the best thing. It took several emails, including one in which I threatened to contact my bank, before someone got back to me. It took several days before I got a "tracking" number. I put tracking in quotes because, apparently, this number did not exist. When I contacted them about this, I was told that they would get back to me. I waited another day and emailed them. The following day (Friday, Sept 11), I sent my final email to them, giving them until Monday afternoon to get back to me or I would be contacting my bank. If you do the math, it was nearly 5 weeks from the time they processed my payment and no one could tell me if they ever actually attempted to ship my product.

After not hearing back from them, I disputed the charge with my bank that Tuesday. Fortunately, I had all the emails that I had exchanged with them as documentation. My bank issued me a refund and I am done with Modchipstore.com.

"I hate to do this to any company but Modchipstore.com really drops the ball on a lot of orders. Either it can't handle the volume of customers or they just can't ship anything correctly. I've seen other reviews where people have gotten their product in less than a month but I ordered a Acekard2i on June 17th and they charged my card the same day. After some time I got an email saying that it shipped, then i sent a follow up email a week later since i hadn't received it and they contacted me saying it was on backorder. They gave me the option of cancelling my order and getting my money back but.. i do give retailers the opportunity to fix their mistakes, i let the order go as i was assured that when they received more.. one would go out to me. I received an email not two weeks ago saying that the card shipped but have received nothing. A month prior, i ordered a Acekard2i from a competitor and received it within a week.. even waiting a week for it being on backorder. The moral of this story? Modchipstore.com *might* send your purchase out, they sure do take your money quickly.

I have recently emailed their support requesting my entire purchase refunded. I guess 'Caveat Emptor' should be something that people should keep in mind when ordering from this company.

That was received recently.. i've requested a refund.. they've given me a transaction number but nothing is in my account, they will get 24 hours before i contact my bank to dispute the charge.

"Placed order August tenth. A week goes by... no word on shipping. After that I finally get a response to an email saying there was a problem with the post office and my package would be reshipped. Then ANOTHER week goes by. No shipping. I'm then told my package would be shipping "soon." It never was. I requested a refund. Did not receive one. As far as I'm concerned this site is a SCAM and I would not advise anybody to buy anything from them. "

"Have done business with in the past with no problems... seems their servers now are worth crap... they did not return calls or answer/reply to emails in a timely manner. Would write an email one day and not get a reply for almost 4 days sometimes if I was lucky...

Lack of email replies caused major headaches since i had to reverse charges (which i emailed them to give them a notice that i was going to do which went unanswered for a couple of days) and then they did a refund then i had to cancel the chargeback...

Placed these 2 orders and they originally just dissapeared with no tracking information and my CCs were charged the next day (and they were supposedly shipped like 3 days after i ordered them even though the site says "in stock ships within 24 hours)... opted to have them reshipped and that shipment mysteriously dissapeared in the mail as well and still w/o tracking infomation eventhough Jim said that they would be expidited shipped and via a trackable method. That was almost a month ago and still have not received anything.

Very dissapointed in how things are run now... they used to ship DHL and now they just ship standard Canadian Post / USPS w/o tracking or anything...

Would not recommend them until they get reliable shipping methods and better phone/website servers and maybe a few more employees that can actually handle taking items to the post office and verify that they have been taken.

(on another note, it appears some items are now getting held up in customs, so if I find that to be the case with these items, I will apologize and edit this post).

"Ordered and N5 DS with 2 Gigabyte MicroSD (combo package). Received an email 2 days later telling me that the N5 DS shipment that came in seems to have a defect, and after testing it themselves, could potentially burn out or blow a fuse in my NDS console. They offered to send me another item in it's place. The NDS TTDS card. I thought maybe it was some bait / switch type thing, but as it turned out, the NDS TTDS was higher priced (They didn't charge me anything extra, just what I paid already for the N5 Card) and after reading reviews, it's a much better card anyway. So I have no complaints. Not many places take the time to actually check their inventory. They potentially saved my NDS from being wrecked and gave me a more expensive and better card for the same price to make up for not being able to send me what I ordered. Would def. buy from again!!!"

"Third order from this company. Last 2 went fine, this last order placed on July 4th ended up getting lost by the post office. Customer service rep. named Jim responded to my email quickly, did a track or trace with the post office and in about 3 days, sent out another package for me, which arrived in 12 days from the date they sent it (looking at the date on the post stamp)

I've never had issues, will order from again for Xmas gifts for my kids NDS consoles.
