Awesome Group of People

"The overall experience was great! Down to planning the machine spec, design, paintjob, etc. Everyone I worked with were very responsive, and kept me in the loop for build, testing and delivery. I also met a lot of the people who were directly in the build, sale, testing, etc.

PC was beautiful on arrival! Came out exactly how we planned it. Definitely will recommend to others.

Great group of people--very nice, completely willing to assist. I had a recent issue with my PC in terms of performance, and they ironed it all out. Completely willing to stay on the phone with me to figure it out, follow up, etc.

Found my lifelong computer provider

"My brother built his first Maingear a few years ago and while he lived at home I was fortunate enough to have experienced his system. He moved out and left me itching for that beautifully built PC. So naturally, I saved up and bought my own, and I can't thank myself enough for doing so. More importantly, I can't thank the dedicated team at Maingear enough, as their palpable dedication for their products is always visible in the quality of their finished goods. Team is beyond supportive and will answer every question, concern and request you can imagine, while making you feel valued for even asking. I am lucky to become a customer and plan to be one for a very long time.

My dad has been a computer engineer since the late 80's and he is stunned at the quality of our computers. My only wish is that I could share the gift of a maingear computer with the entire world.

A horrible situation made extrordinary

"The whole process of moving apartments **** but I was looking forward to a larger area for my gaming. I take my gaming pretty seriously, to the point where I basically have a second full time job as a broadcaster on Twitch. My PC is my lifeblood and without it, I'm dead in the water.

The move was going slow but awesome, with very minimal problems. I was looking forward to being back in business in less than a week when the worst possible thing happened - my main PC that I relied on to do absolutely everything decided it wouldn't turn on. After doing all the testing I could, I realized the issue was the motherboard. I had so much going on, the possibility of a dead PC at this moment was awful.

A few friends had recommended Maingear previously when I talked about upgrading my primary PC - so they were the first to come to mind when I reached out. I explained to them the panic of my situation, the higher than normal demands for my business, and the time frame I had to work in.

Within moments of my frantic messages, they reached out and told me not to worry - just send them my wishlist and they'll work with me to get something out the door as soon as they can. In less than 24 hours, I was speaking with their sales team working out all the finer details, down to some minor quality of life things, such as designating the operating system drive for easier adjustments in the future.

They not only met all of my very specific demands, but they exceeded my time estimate by two days. I received my PC even before I expected to setup the existing PC on my moving time table.

Upon setup, everything went smoothly. Little things such as BIOS firmware and hardware drivers were all up to date, saving me precious time to begin the restore process from my old drives for all the things I would need to get going.

In the end, I was back in business the very same day I had anticipated even before the original PC died. The new PC exceeds all my expectations, and I was even to stress test it to do things I thought I wouldn't be able to accomplish for several more years.

The whole process was easy. Every little detail was covered. They're PC folks who understand what it's like to work in a world that relies on PCs. They understand the little things that make the biggest difference in what can be a major purchasing decision - especially when those decisions need to be made quickly.

I will absolutely do business with them again - and they'll be the first recommendation to everyone I know when they're looking for a stress free PC upgrade.

Worth the price

"Never really had the time to build my own PC or had interest in doing it I just wanted to reap the benefits of a "gaming PC" so I ended up getting a custom rig from maingear they walked me through what's going in my rig how it's going to perform and where my money is going (most important). No BS didn't try to over sell me I went with a goal and a price and main gear made it work fast forward a 6 months now with 20xx series and out I'm looking in to upgrading my house and RAM and they said I can either do it with guidance from some one or just send the rig in. The customer service in this company is amazing and being treated like a person who is trying to learn instead of a wallet with no knowledge is just such an amazing change of pace and I recommend to anyone even if it's just for the custom chassis but they do a great job and they back what they do "

Best Computer I've ever purchased!

"I purchased a Maingear for the holiday time frames and ordered the F131. This thing is literally flawless and a work of art. My experience with the Maingear team even as the system was being built was great, and honestly if you are looking for a custom rig, I would go with Maingear. I had some laser engraving on the front and side of the device - it looks great. Highly recommend. "

A Game of Blame, Computer Deaths, Unprofessional, a RUSH, and a RUSH to be Fixed

"Maingear has been a computer company that I have purchased from for years. I bought an F131 in 2012, an F131 in 2016, and a replacement was semi-purchased in 2018. However, my experience in 2012 and my experience in 2016 and 2018 are completely different. In 2012 we had a Maingear which stepped up to the plate and was very responsible - taking charge of mistakes they made while the client would take charge of the mistakes they made. Now we have a Maingear that will try to blame everything on you. The story starts from the moment I got my F131 (2016). Excluding the back and forth in regards to the hard drives in the system - the system was built in such a manner that I would never be able to access the WD Gold drive in front should the need arise meaning they locked me into however much it would cost to ship it to them if it were to ever happen but that never got to that point - rather the system would die long before then.

The overclock on the processor was already set too high. One day I updated the UEFI due to hardware support which removed the Maingear settings. I called them up to get the settings they applied and entered it in though I was worried about the voltage level being sent to the processor. Of course, in 2018, they would try to say that I was the one to overclock it even though that was their settings. So the processor would eventually become toast and have to go back to Maingear.

Now, the team there such as people like Will and Carmen are great. They went above and beyond. I paid for a RUSH chassis, a Titan Xp, and a new 3-year warranty. The system would consist of virtually all new parts.

The RUSH, which was a masterpiece of craftsmanship returned much to my excitement and worked wonderfully until the system started performing floating point and double floating point tasks. Run an Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018 or Adobe After Effects CC 2018 render and you would be met with a system that cuts out the displays and peripherals will lose power - sometimes a few while other times all.

When they remoted in they searched the event viewer for "whea" which is one of many signs of issues. Rather, they should have searched for the Windows stop code "0xfe" which is a CPU hardware fault. This makes sense of course as the only part of the new RUSH that had a component from the F131 was the motherboard.

Yes, they used the very same exact motherboard that a processor friend on.

The system is returning this month to get a new, comparable motherboard and diagnosed for any further issues as well as having the Titan Xp firmware updated.

Through all of that I would have perhaps given Maingear a 2 or 3-star rating. However, they are getting a 1-star due to the unprofessionalism of their CEO: Wallace Santos. When I first got the system and was happy with it he was acting like a great guy. The moment I said I was having problems with the system and called it a "piece of junk" because after all, I went through [which most, like Maingear not actually sending me everything and then trying to blame me for improper packing yet given their track record of having to send me missing parts to the F131 like the remote and stand speaks to the contrary of their belief of "they sent everything"] publicly he very much behaved in an unprofessional manner that reflects poorly on the company given the amount of money I paid for my system.

Simply just view it here: https://twitter.com/TheGuardianHope/status/1025416085112115200

Frankly, he should be writing me a letter of apology. Nonetheless, while I have every confidence in people like Will and Carmen, my confidence in Maingear after the statements of Wallace Santos, their CEO, has brought it to an all time low that they may never recover from and something of which I may never buy a system from them again even if the rest of the team are good people.

Let's see what happens now that the motherboard is going to be replaced with a comparable new one. It'll probably fix the system because no one usually uses a motherboard that had a CPU fried in it.

Nicely Built, but lied to.

"well bought a machine from them, for about 10k. I did have a few requests that made this one special...

1. A specific mosfet watercooling block blocks

2. An easy way to disable the OverClocking, either a simple way thru the bios or a desktop app. Was told, "Not to worry it will be easy to enable and disable the OC. Well they did nto make a default in the bios presets , only the overclocked one was there. Nor a desktop app.

3. Called and spoke to 2 different techs, and was told that I could not disable thru the bios as I have this machine set up for Raid 0. And if I set it changed it to something else than what they set the bios for, I would/might not be able to use raid at all, as the settings would change and machine might not be workable.

I feel like I was getting the old "Yes we can do that." by the sales people, that really did not know about what a person wanted and what was possible and what was not possible.
I will say this the machine is a dream , but I do not need to overclock the CPU for browsing the web, but do need it for video editing and gaming as well. A fan died as it was installed horizontally, and it dropped down a bit and kept getting caught, they did send me out a fan right away to fix the problem.

Best PC I have owned

"I remember saving for an entire year to purchase my MAINGEAR Pulse 17" back in 2015
It was definitely worth they money and I've had excellence performance over the last 2.5 years.
I may buy the NOMAD 17" next for more storage since the Pulse 17" is no longer available.

...Beyond words about Maingear....

"I can attest to the homework and research I put into look for a new rig. I looked and read for about a 18 months. I learned about the insides and outsides of PC Gaming rigs and workstations. Everything! Speeds, transfer rates, OS, SSD, M.2, GeForce, Loop cooling and on and on. I was looking to make an investment, not just to buy a really cool PC. I do game at times, but my computer is also an everyday desktop computer. I use it for many different tasks, that's why I wanted the best gaming PC there was for me. I use my Maingear to browse the internet daily, gaming, watching movies, music, and pretty much all other things. I finally chose the Maingear F131 with a 360mm cooling system, M.2 drive, SSD and HDD and other top choices. I used to go to the Maingear website and look at all the options and pictures of my future setup. I was really impressed with it already. I even found some great pictures on Google search of the F131.
I finally ordered my setup 11/13/17, and had it at my house at the first few days of December. Now I come from Dell and Alienware family of computers, so when this Maingear came to me, I was in for such a surprise. I have never owned a PC that was liquid cooled and had a radiator. I have never had a computer that you could watch and see the insides of it. I really had no idea of what I was getting into! I got the shipment in, and I was already feeling good about my purchase. The box wasn't huge, heavy, or beat up from shipping. I finally got it home, and got it out of the boxing it was in. It was very very well shipped and protected, but words cannot explain the excitement that I went through looking at this thing called a PC in front of me! I have never seen anything like this. The pictures on the website, do this computer absolutely NO JUSTICE!! The craftsmanship and care put into this computer is breathtaking. I was beyond grateful for God blessing me with the means to buy this computer, and to steer me to make the best choice with Maingear. I just can't explain fully how well built this machine is. The looks of this computer is just awesome. Immediately when I saw this computer, I could tell the work and care that was put into this PC. I know Im laying this on pretty thick, but I put a lot of time and effort into researching and choosing a new powerful system, and I am so very pleased with Maingear. My family and friends are struck by how good this PC looks and runs. It really is that nice looking!
Now how does it run? In 11 seconds after hitting the power button, the system is completely loaded and booted up and in idle mode. Its insanely fast with a Gen. 8 OC processor and an 1TB M.2 OS. While gaming, the three fans are in silent mode, just whispering! This PC is super quiet, even under stress. Awesome airflow through the whole PC. Airflow is the first and most important subject to tackle to buying a high end PC system, and the F131 breathes greatly!
So thank you all for reading my review. If you can't tell, Maingear is the Bugatti Chiron's of the custom built PC world and I am blessed by them. And thank you everyone at Maingear. This review is for you. I didn't do this. You guys did!! I just am a recipient of your hard work. Derek A.

Best Customer Service

"We purhcased a rendering machine through Maingear recently and since it sits on my desk they have asked me to research machines for some other CAD applications. I went to MainGear first and foremost because the sales rep, Jake Vance, was super helpful the first time around. This time he helped me understand what we needed and why and he helped give us corporate deals for multiple machines. I've always wanted to build my own PC but I think I'm just going to go through MainGear for both Personal and Work machines."

Exceeded Expectations

"I ordered a new desktop from them after searching many different computer builders online. I finally settled with MainGear due to their user friendly website and positive reviews. First of all, the entire purchasing experience was enjoyable. Clear communication and frequent updates about the status of my build. When I got my computer, it was evident that this company takes pride in their work. All the wires and components were professionally installed and organized. I couldn't have been more happy and recommend them."

Just received my MAINGEAR Drift PC Today

"MAINGEAR PC is hands down the best boutique builder of personal computers as of right now. Other companies like Alienware/Origin PC/Xidax are good but they cannot compete with MAINGEAR in the performance desktop space. Just google MAINGEAR RUSH and compare it to the Xidax X-8 which uses the exact same same chassis and you will see what I mean, no one comes remotely close to what these guys are doing right now. I received my DRIFT with 7700k cpu and 1080ti today and the build looks EXACTLY like the photo on their website, what you see is what you will get which is not always my experience with other vendors. My new computer is housed in an absolutely gorgeous Lian Li case with tempered glass and custom configurable lighting. With an open water loop (soft tubing) my build also has some pretty insane factory overclocking as well! With the exception of Falcon Northwest I do not know of any other company that offers automotive quality custom paint finishes at an affordable price. I also needed to make alterations to my order after I had been billed and I found the sales and support staff super friendly in facilitating those changes. I could go on and on and I know I sound like a lame **** fanboy but this company is truly awesome!"

Just like I would have built it

"I have been building my own rigs going on 25 years now. Due to work and the amount of traveling I have been doing I decided to have someone else build this PC. I looked around and everyone has about the same prices but I caught one look at the R1 rig and that was it. I placed my order then waited, as they were gathering the parts I made a change in my order and they rolled with the change without issue.

When my PC arrived at my home the first thing I noticed was how the system was shipped. The PC was shipped in the R1 case box then with foam corners placed inside another box. The outside box was as you expected from being shipped it looked like hell, but the box inside was perfect. Next took the PC out of the R1 box and notice a warning label, Maingear placed a form shaping foam insert inside the PC so the the Video cards would not be damage during shipping. They did a great job in packing the PC so it would not get damaged in shipping I was really impressed by this.

The PC looks better then I had hoped for, the cooling system joints and tubing where as long as needed not to long or too short. There is enough play so I could get to the mobo and vid cards if I had too. Next the cable management was tight and hidden out of the way so that the inside of the PC looks clean. One word of warning, if you buy a system and think " ah I'll only buy one drive for the OS and I can add the drives I have to the system" don't. Just purchase the system with the drives you will need, unless your like me and have been building PCs for awhile. The reason I say this is that they do such a good job with cable management that if you are not good at building PC's you will never be able to place the cables back they way they had them. I had a hard time placing everything back without having to remove parts.

When it comes time to purchase a laptop I'm coming back to Maingear,

Customer Service Seven Years Later

"My Maingear Shift was 6 1/2 years old when I called for customer service this year. The team helped me with the problem, which was really a Windows 10 issue. I spoke with the head of sales and we concurred that, with a small upgrade, my Shift had another year or two left in it. The machine remains faster than the Dells we bought recently for my company, although my new Dell 15" Macbook Pro 15" runs a bit faster for some massive Excel spreadsheets.

Overall, the longevity and reliability of my Shift remains amazing, the "Angelic" service, incredible. Note, I've rated my $4,000 Shift low price because I've retired a handful of new laptops and desktops since I bought the Shift 7 years ago.
