"UPDATE: I was contacted by the owner of Mags4Cheap - Mr. Brandon Fallon - via email a couple of months ago, apologizing for the problems, explaining the cause, and promising to make it right. He has lived up to his commitment, and today I received a check as a full refund of the price paid. Just as I felt compelled to post a complaint earlier, I feel compelled to post this update as recognition for Brandon's attempt to restore his company's reputation.

Original Review: (August, 2008)
Buyer Beware !!! This company is extremely inept (at best), or operates unethically. I placed an order for a 4-year renewal subscription. The order was accepted and my credit card charged for the agreed amount. Although the order clearly stated 4 years, the magazine only shows a 1-year renewal.

After more than 3 months of emails and phone call exchanges the issue remains un-addressed. All they do is "issue a trouble ticket". That gives them a 2-week excuse. When you check back after 2 weeks, they actually issue another "trouble ticket" to find out why the first one wasn't resolved !!! This goes on and on ! So I ended up calling them after each time. Although the guy on the phone was initially polite, all he did was give me some random excuse for the problem, and advised me to wait for an additional 3-5 weeks each time. When I called them last, he essentially told me that there was nothing further that he could do other than asking me to wait yet another few days.

At this point, I have no faith or trust in the integrity of this company. What makes matters worse is that they are hidden behind a series of companies who actually process the orders. So their own accountability is negligible, and any attempts to resolve an issue will probably be futile.

"I ordered 4 magazines back in Nov. of 2007 (Christmas gifts)- 2 of them quite expensive. No one has received that first magazine. I have called numerous times -have never spoken to a real person -just a recording saying to leave your name and number and that ALL calls are returned within 24 hours - never received a call back. I, too, am keeping all of my email correspondence to and from them in which they continuously promised to "resubmit my order". In my last correspondence to them (5-10-08)I stated that after 7 months I realized this was a scam and that I expected a refund check for $150.00 - of course, that check should have been received AT THE LATEST 3 weeks ago. I sent another email inquiring about my refund check and, of course, they are going to reissue another check -- which should have been received last week at the latest. I have emailed them informing them that I am contacting the Attorney General's office in Houston, Texas; the three national credit bureaus and the BBB this week. I wish I could have read all of your reviews before I ever ordered through them. "

"Run from this company!!!! Made the order on Dec. 11 2007 and am still waiting. They said they would refund my money in 7 days...didnt happen. Then they said they will refund my money in another 20 days via 3rd class bulk mail...did not happen. They say they will return my calls within 24 hours...Did not happen. I have all this documented via email and much more. They have my money and I got the shaft. Very expensive magazines for a company called Mags4Cheap!!"

"They are a bogus operation-I never received my time magaziner subscription though I got a secondary magaziner that was offered in addition, and when i cled they lied about my receiving it in two more weeks, than the second time I called they lied they sent an e mail that there fullfiller went out of business , and so i just asked for a refund. They are horrible."

"Mags4Cheap = this is as BAD AS IT GETS. They have strung me along for more than 4 months. Never a call back regardless of what the recorder promises! An occasional e-mail almost in gibberish! This MUST BE A SCAM but how do you prove it?!
I'm not giving up; I'm going to get the subscription ordered and paid for or have their hide in the TX small claims court. Stay tuned, but never order from them.

"I ordered a magazine from Mags4Cheap in the middle of December. It was intended to be a Christmas gift for my husband. The website states that it can take up to 10 weeks for the subscription to start, so I waited. However, when I still hadn't received my first magazine at the end of March, I called to find out what was going on. The customer services at Mags4Cheap is HORRIBLE! I never did actually get to speak to a person. Every time I called I was directed to a voicemail that said to leave a message & that all calls were returned within 24 hours. I left messages on several occasions and never did receive a phone call back. I then tried contacting the company through email. After several days, I did finally receive a return email that stated they had to create a trouble ticket to find out what was happening with my magazine & that that could take up to 10 days. It is now mid-April and I never did hear back, nor did I ever receive my magazine. I finally had to call my bank and have the charge disputed in order to get my money back. I think this company banks on you forgetting you ordered a magazine & just keeps the money without ever providing the product. Bottom line...go somewhere else!!"

"3 of the magazines ordered never got renewed - magazines won't deal with me and Mags4Cheap just gives me the run around - I have sent numerous emails and left voice mails for the 800# and they ask a bunch of questions - promise answer in 7 to 10 business days and then I never hear back. Another trick they seem to do is say that they got a blank email - I have copies of these so called blank emails and they are not blank...and I've never had anybody else tell me they got a blank email. As of today, still waiting on any resolution"

"Rip-off. Never got the magazines, every time you inquire as to the status they give you a trouble ticket or esclated problem email or some other garbage to keep you waiting another 8 weeks. Stay away from this site!"

"Avoid Mags4Cheap! In August 2007, I ordered a 12-month subscription to National Geographic, which was supposed to start by 11/20/2007 at the latest. My credit card was billed immediately. As of 01/30/2008, the magazine still has not come. I have repeatedly contacted Mags4Cheap by e-mail (there's no 800 phone number). Each time, they said they'd look into it, but nothing happens. And the response to each follow-up complaint is clearly written by someone totally oblivious to all my earlier complaints (which I keep citing). They refuse to provide a refund. THIS IS FRAUD! They've taken my money for something they cannot deliver."

"Subscription never received. They now tell me the publisher (Newsweek) will not take subscriptions from them. However Newsweek is still available on their website. They told me they would refund my charge, but they have not. My credit card company says it it too old to dispute. They don't answer emails. The queue for their phone "service" is typically an hour long. Avoid!
Updated Nov. 7, 2008. I took Brandon up on his suggestion that I call him (see his reply). I left a message, and got a call back in a couple of hours. He looked up my account, and refunded my money. That was refreshing!

"Ordered and was charged for subscription to People magazine. Never received it. Was told 06/20/07 would receive in 4 weeks. Have been trying to reach them since 07/09/07. Have experienced telephone disconnects, ignored emails, ignored messages left with telephone calls and ignored request from Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan Houston. I simply want either the magazine or a refund. My experience so far leads me to believe they are nothing but scammers!

I was contacted by owner of Mags4Cheap and have subsequently received a full refund for my People magazine subscription that was never delivered. Took way too long to resolve but, thanks.
