"RUN, don't walk, from this merchant. You can add my sad story to the litany of woes listed below.

I, too, was able to place one successful order with this company. When it came time to place another, I saw some of these negative reviews. My experience was fine, so I disregarded them. BIG mistake.

I placed my order on August 22nd. I got the standard email which mentioned the 4-6 weeks lag time. Yeah...right. Okay I read further and eventually it said it could take 10 weeks. Can you say "RIP-OFF?"

I got an email saying my order had been successfully accepted by Newsweek (How nice - a company willing to sell its product.) Fine. I checked back a few times. No magazine.

Today (October 17th) I called them. Turns out my order was included in a big batch of 1000 orders that got rejected and returned by Newsweek. Guess those Newsweek folks are new at the whole subscription processing thing. Yep, my order had to be re-submitted.

Out of curiosity, I asked the sales rep "Are you aware that there are a lot of negative reviews of your company's customer service?" His response --"Oh, yeah." I asked if that was a concern of theirs. "Well, we process some bazillion number of subscription requests, the largest seller on the Internet, of course there are always going to be a few problems."

I guess I will do the upright thing and wait until later this month to see if anything arrives. If not, I'm going back to Visa to see what my options are.

I wonder if the magazine companies are aware of these shady business practices. Perhaps if they were, they wouldn't do business with them and these guys would just go away. Just a thought...

"I purchased 2 magazine subscriptions via E-bay. Check was cashed but product not delievered. Three e-mails to Mags4cheap went unanswered. Ebay wrote me to say he is no longer allowed to do business with them"

"This is a complete RIPOFF!!! I ordered a magazine in April. When I didn't get it by June I e-mailed and then called them. They said their distributor went out of business, not their fault. Then they promised to re-order for me, expidited. It is not October and no magazine. I am thinking about reporting them to the FBI internet fraud group."

"RIPOFF! Plain and simple. States magazine subscription takes 8-12 weeks. After this time neither ebay nor Paypal will investigate; transaction time too old. I never received a single issue of the magazine I ordered; no response to my inquiries. Notify the Federal Trade Commission of this fraud www.ftc.gov"

"This is my 2nd year with Mags4Cheap. Last year, I had no issues with them, and decided to order again from them this year.

BIG MISTAKE!

I ordered 4 magazines through them. Two, started coming just fine...about 3 months after I ordered. However, I have not received the other 2 and it is now September. 7 months!

They responded to my first email, telling me to call them. I tried to contact them by phone. Their voice recording just sent me in circles, and I never could talk to a person. I thought maybe it was issues with the phones, as I am in Guam. After numerous unreturned emails, telling them I was having problems, I asked my mom to call on my behalf (she is in Colorado.) They told her it is out of their hands and that I have to talk to the publisher. WHY IS THIS MY JOB!?!?!?!?!

I called the first magazine, and Mags4Cheap had sent them my old address even though I purchased these subscriptions with my new address. Lucky for me, the magazine took the brunt and reset my subscription starting with September. Very nice of them, but b.s. that they have to lose out because of Mags4Cheap.

The second magazine told me that since I placed the order through Mags4Cheap, that Mags4Cheap had to contact them.

I sent them an email. We shall see if this one ever gets a response. This place has one horrible business practice. Stay away.

Update: It has been a month since I wrote the initial review. Again, they have not returned my emails. Mom my called them and told them that they had to contact the magazine, and they refused. They were extremely rude and nonchalant about the whole thing. She said they simply do not care. I think this has to be the worst customer service ever.

"I ordered two magazines from Mags4cheap in January, (one of them was a gift subscription), and didn't see anything for months. Call 1: the subscription I ordered in January doesn't start until May, so please wait. Call 2: there is a problem with the post office delivery. We will wrap the magazines in plastic covers, so please wait. Call 3: I will put in a refund request to the publisher, please wait. Call 4: We don't do refund requests, and I'm sorry, but I don't have your money, and we can't help you. I will call the publisher while you hold. At this point, the man left me on hold indefinately. Call 6: I ask for a manager, they ask for my order number and put me on hold, again, indefinately. Now I can't even get ahold of anyone.

PLEASE DON'T SUPPORT TERRIBLE BUSINESS BY ORDERING FROM THIS COMPANY! I never saw the magazines or my money again.

"purchased Gourmet magazine subscription for 1 year, its been 3 months from the order date and still not recived the mag!
customer service rep said they cannot do anything, they werent even ready to take the call before 3 months! now for refund they say that I need to talk directly to the publisher!
