"MAGELLANS WAS advertised on Smart Traveller so I trusted that it was reputable. I ordered a number of items (about $180 U.S.) and was told that I would receive these in 3 - 7 days. Payment was authorized by my husband's bank. I was also told, by a customer rep whom I called, that I would receive a 10% rebate. For 10 days, I checked on the status of the order only to receive a letter. I had emailed 4 times - no response; spoke with 4 persons today to explain the situation. I asked to speak with a supervisor but I wasn't able to get one. VERY, VERY pOOR business. I was told that my order was re-ordered today and I should get the items by next Tuesday. Let's see. (Although I love their items, I will not order again after this horrific experience!)"

Can't find an option to review the online experience so will have to report here. Was very excited when the online store reopened as I had been hoping for an opportunity to pick up a Large Safe Passage Tote. Placed my order only to find, too late, that it was a small and not the large I had ordered. Had to go on my trip without it. Placed 3 emails about this issue over the course of that trip. Received 0 responses (still have not received a response some weeks later). On my return I immediately called them. They indicated that they couldn't expedite the shipment but would place the order for a new one. I stressed to them the importance of my receiving the item before the next trip which was about a week and a half away at that point and that I expected the order to ship promptly even if they couldn't expedite it. Fast forward almost a week and no update on shipment. I called and only after several pointed questions could they advise that in fact they didn't have any in stock (which is likely why they shipped me the wrong one to begin with) and had no idea when they would in fact have them in stock. Their website does not show any issues or backorder status now or then. They offered no compensation and merely indicated that I could continue to wait indefinitely for the order that they had no idea the status of or cancel it.

Extremely poor customer service (note this is nothing against the individual but the corporate policy). Would strongly recommend against ever ordering from this company.

"I returned two items in early July 2014; tried to check the status of my return/refund in late July only to find no functioning website and no customer service available via the number provided.

I have lost ~$75 and probably will never see it again. Website is still non-functioning as of late October 2014.

Don't order anything from Magellan's!

"It appears this company is not to be trusted. We bought a travel bag which took too long to get here. We returned it and have not heard form Magellan's 6 weeks later. A review says the company was sold and is no longer reputable. Their web site only has a sorry page. Do not order form them, if you even find the sales pages."

"In 2012 I purchased several items from this store and everything was fine. This year, based on previous experience, I decided to save the trip to Santa Barbara and just order online. Either their website has been hacked or they take no personal responsibility in what is shown vs what is actually available. Everything I looked at and compared (translate - wasted at least an hour) eventually turned out to be totally false advertising. NONE of these items were available. Called customer service. If I wanted to talk to someone whose native language was not English, I would prefer to meet them in their own country. Out of sheer desperation, I returned again today to look for one item - same story. We're showin' it, but we don't got it!"

"I ordered almost $300 worth of travel supplies and 9 days later, they are not here and I'm traveling tomorrow. Customer service was completely worthless, saying that I needed to read the fine print and that things can take even longer to arrive. But since shipping was by FedEx, I really didnt expect that. No one ships like that, normally all inter-US stuff arrives in a day or 2! And the service rep just kept repeating over and over that there was some disclaimer about shipping potentially taking a long time, and that I should have read it. They wouldn't do anything for me at all, not even a return label for return shipping of these items that I now do not need. Worthless. Will never use them again for anything."

"I have been visiting Magellan's website for quite sometime, often reviewing their products. When I came across the 39-pocket microsuede jacket, I could not resist.

I ordered on Monday evening, 4/28. I received order confirmations, processing information, and tracking for overnight delivery at the standard shipping rate. The product arrived Wednesday morning, a little more than 36 hours after ordering.

The product is everything I expected, true to fit and finish.

If you want to start an Internet business, you need to deliver like these guys do - perfect!

"I've been a Magellan's customer for many years and ordered a couple of items on Sunday. The process was straight forward as always. Several months ago I notified them of a problem with an item I had purchased too long ago to expect any recourse, but it took me that long to determine what was keeping it from working. The customer service fellow thanked me for notifying them and then, to my surprise, I was told to return it and they would give me a credit. So I called the following Monday and asked about this credit. The customer service rep found the credit and applied it to my order. The "best way" shipping fee was $0.00 and my package arrived on Tuesday AM.
These are 1st class folks and I'll never hesitate to order from them.
