Horrible shipping policies and NO notifications about anything.

"I ordered a jacket from them on March 23. Got no notices of any kind, so emailed them April 2,(10 days after ordering.) They responded the next day that they’d received it on March 29, but started inventory that day. They said it would ship after April 5. It is now April 15 and the online order status shows it hasn’t even been picked.....so obviously not shipped. They didn’t say that it wasn’t in stock when I ordered it. I also emailed them on April 11, but they did not respond. I’ve emailed them again today so we’ll see what they say now! Never again!"

BEWARE OF THEIR RATINGS

"I bought a pair of pants that had received glowing max reviews from prior purchasers at 6 stars though I wondered why only six reviews. Now I know why. The pants had some issues so I rated them 2 stars on March 2. They said it would take 7 - 10 business days to post. Early last week, 4 weeks later, I sent a complaint indicating that they had not posted my review. They said someone would get back to me in 48 hours. So far nothing has happened so I can only conclude that they pick good product reviews and ignore honest realistic reviews. Now I know why there were only six reviews on these Men's Kiwi Craighoppers Trousers. A fair conclusion is that they had a lot of negative reviews and chose to not post them. Therefore I am afraid that because of this apparent bias, let the buyer beware. Shameful behavior from an Internet seller."

Order mix up

"I was ordering a travel vest and at checkout made the big mistake of checking Magellan's VIP program. Decided no, no, no and tried to exit
the VIP section. Did exit Magellan's, VIP and order, but I was unsure of status. Checked my email for two days and no order confirmation so assumed order had not gone through, no credit card charge after 2 days, but I called Magellan's customer service to confirm. Edwardo assured me that the order did not go through: there was no order for that item. So, I did order the travel vest with 2 day shipping, second try. Eleven days, 11 days!!, later I received 2 travel vests. So I call customer service and had this circular argument regarding return shipping and reimbursement for one vest. I was able to leave a message, yet to be returned, for a manager. I was so angry and upset about the return I called a second time. So, although I did call and check on first order and was assured there was no order, and yes, I did pay for 2nd. day shipping on both orders, that at best I would need to pay for mail return then call customer service and beg for a repayment. No RMA, no return label. Wish me luck.

Item was over priced.

"Saw a Nifty wallet at the manufacturer saw this a similar wallet at Mulligan's for more money and I thought it would be better quality. Turns out is exactly the same wallet with the logo obscured -in photo - and it was $20 more than from the manufacturer and twice the shipping! "

Magellan's has gone downhill

"I've ordered numerous items from Magellan's, and while the shipping has often been slow, this time takes the cake. I ordered two items for an overseas trip. When they didn't arrive after a couple of weeks, I checked the order status online and learned, only then for the first time, that NEITHER item was in stock - both were "backordered." About a week later, one of the items shipped, and it's expected to arrive in a couple of days (almost 3 weeks after I ordered). The other item is STILL on backorder, and my trip is only 8 days away. I called customer service hoping to get some additional information, but the fellow could tell me nothing more. I asked if he could annotate the file to upgrade the shipping on the second item in case it arrived in the next few days, and he told me he could not - my only options were to (1) cancel and replace the order with upgraded shipping (at MY cost), or to cancel the order entirely. I'm quite distressed, and will order all my travel needs from Travelsmith from this date forward."

Slow to Ship an "expedited" order

"Ordered 2 items in September for an October overseas trip. I called Magellan's order line to be sure that the items were in stock, would ship promptly, and arrive before my trip departure date. While there was plenty of time for the shipment to arrive with regular service, the rep suggested that I pay $4.95 additional for "expedited" shipping.

Magellan's took several days to process my order which was paid immediately on the order by my credit card. Rather than delivering the package to my address, the "expedited" shipment was delivered to Cheyenne, WY, where it was reshipped via the USPS snail mail. The Cheyenne post office shipped the package to Denver where it took a couple more days before being shipped back to Cheyenne, then to my local post office and finally out for delivery. The package arrived at my local Post Office 4 days after I'd departed on my trip.

Concerned that the package hadn't arrived prior to my departure, I'd called Magellan's customer service hotline ***-***-**** to
track the package. I was repeatedly assured that the package would arrive in a timely manner. But with one day left before my trip departure, I was then advised that the home delivery would be a week later. The original earlier delivery date was only to get the package to the Cheyenne postal center, not to my home delivery. Since there was no way that the package was going to make it to my residence before my departure date, the customer service rep advised that Magellan's would refund my $4.95 expedited shipping charge but not the full shipping charges.

Upon returning from my trip, I got the Magellan's package from my Post Office. I promptly returned the items without opening the sealed bags. It cost me only $6.65 to return the items USPS to Magellan's, which included the Priority Mail shipping bag and tracking service for the package. Magellan's received the package, sent me an email verifying receiving it, and refunded my $165 purchase. But nowhere is the $4.95 refund for the "expedited" shipping.

In my view, Magellan's has turned their shipping fees into an additional profit center. A priority mail package that costs only $6.65 with door to door service in three days is significantly less expensive than a $20.94 shipping and handling charge that takes a few weeks to deliver.

I wish I'd found this site before I'd tried to do business with Magellan's. I would not have bought my travel wear from them knowing their shipping and handling practices. I believe that Magellan's acted in bad faith to promise and charge for expedited shipping and handling knowing that their shipping method would not deliver the package as promised.

These folks could have the best products in the world but they're useless to me. I don't know anything about the products as I never opened up the packages to check out the items. Returned the items and I will not do business with these folks again.
They are liars with no intentions of living up to their promises.

Shipping timeframes are bogus

"I ordered a travel stool for two round-trip six hour flights. It was supposed to arrive within 3 to 5 business days. Eight Business days later, I was informed it was being shipped. It arrived three business days after that Both flights of been completed. What a waste. I complain to customer service, but they never bothered to reply. "

Less then a one star company!

"I placed an order the item was more expensive then I normally spend and I returned it. Now it is taking forever to get my refund. I have make calls, send emails and never get a reply from them. I even did two reviews and I guess they did not like it so they did not post them!!!! First and last time I will order from them."

Slow, slow, slow

"I placed an order online on December 28. Having heard nothing I went to my package tracking number and was told it was not valid. I e-mailed customer service on January 11th. Today - January 16th I had heard nothing back so I called. I found out that the order that I placed on December 28 was shipped today. I ordered those items for an upcoming vacation. I guess that I can no longer count on this company to get my orders out in a timely manner. If they don't arrive before I leave I assured the company that everything will be returned. "

"Wow, where do I begin. I have been in the customer service industry for about 30 years and I would rank this the top 5 worst experience I've ever had. I will try to put it in a nut shell. From Nov.30 2015 to Dec.22nd. With a total of about 4 hour's on the phone, eight different manager's and customer service agents, and 4 different made up stories, I finally gave up with this company. They took my credit card information and mixed it up with another persons name and address. Told me I was signed up for there v.i.p program and would get 10% off and free shipping and that never was going to happen. I was promised my luggage would make it by Christmas, that did not happen. On the 22nd. of December I said to the company if you wanted to one day mail the luggage you could get it to me for Christmas, and they basically said to me, NO , we are O.K losing you as a customer. Some of the people I talked with at the Magellan company were Jessica I.D #011, Jackie I.D #596, Sam I.D# 566, Karen the manager,would not give me I.D#, Susan and Mat Foster who supposedly ran all customer service phone center's. Mr. Foster was the final person I talked to, and he who told me , NO I will not do what the company promised me and kinda laughed at me. PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! They treat people horribly!!! "

"I'm another customer who would rate Magellan's with a 0 if that option were available. I paid a premium for a rush order which took three days to leave their warehouse! and was then sent by SmartPost. Customers are led to believe that their deliveries will be made by FedEx. In fact, SmartPost is collected by FedEx from the warehouse and then delivered to USPS where it joins the rest of the snail mail. As a consequence, I did not receive my travel supplies within the promised delivery time or before I left on my overseas vacation and had to send the goods back when I returned. Completely disappointing and false representation by Magellan's on shipping delivery times. My rush order was not rushed at all."

"I would not have picked any star, but had no choice but to give Magellan's one star..... I just sent the following feedback to Magellans after placing an order for $279 worth of travel items, which I expected to arrive in 5 business days. Since I had not yet received an e-mail advising me that the order had shipped, I called. Here is the e-mail I sent to Magellans following my conversation with their representative:

I just got off the phone with one of your representatives who informed me that my order was sitting in the warehouse - although in the course of the call she updated that to now having a tracking number. In short, she advised that my credit card company had placed a fraud alert on the account, declined my card and held it up for four days prior to releasing it. She further informed me that Fed-Ex is now taking 7 - 10 business days for deliveries, as opposed to the 5 business days cited on the website.
1) I was not notified by my credit card company that there was a fraud issue. So, I called Chase (Visa) to question why they had made not attempt to contact me, and they advised me that they had NOT declined my account, nor was there any fraud alert on it. Someone is lying, and since I have had a fraud alert on my account in the past and received an immediate voice mail notification from Chase, I don't believe it is them....
2) Your website indicated that the expected regular shipping would be 5 business days. That is false advertising.
I had to cancel my order because I don't anticipate that the items will get here in time for my trip. There is no way that I will ever deal with your company again, and you can bet that I will share this information.

"It takes forever and a day to get an order from them. I've been waiting three weeks for my order now. Called the help line and she said to try again next week. I have ordered from other places and received my order in a week or less. Would never order from them again."
