"Absolutely love this school, from the first person you see when walking in, the teacher and cooking staff everyone is so friendly. Ms Petra my sons teacher is expectional, my son has come on in so many aspects I didn't expect for him to improve on since being at this school. There is a wonderful and noticeable difference between him and his friends that do not attend this school."
"This is a great school with great teachers. We are happy with the progress our kids have made and could not ask for anything more."
"Our teachers are fantastic. They are completely engaged and very passionate about the work they do. They are great role models for our child and I leave my son each morning with complete confidence and appreciation."
"Overall this is a fantastic school. Our only issue is the extreme lack of communication and lack of notification of resolution."
"Director is not engaged. Frequent turnover of staff. Poor communication of issues. Propensity to blame child instead of acknowledging ways they can improve."
"My child recently started in a new class, so I do not yet have an opinion of her new teacher. My husband drops her off and my mother picks her up, so I don't have many interactions. However, the director has always been WONDERFUL. Very responsive, helpful, and willing to go out of her way to help resolve any issues or concerns we may have."
"The asst director is always available and is always friendly always asks how I am and welcomes my child with a good morning or goodbye"
"What started out as an amazing childcare facility has changed with the most recent staff changes. There have been many changes with staff in the year that we've attended, but the new changes are the ones that have affected us the most. Due to high turnover of lead positions in the toddler wing, standard policies for communication regarding problem solving for issues with my child were neglected. As a result, a swift termination was their only solution. I would not recommend this facility at this time. It is also important to note that the toddler playground was closed 2.5 months prior to our departure. Up until that point, I was incredibly happy with the amount of outdoor/exercise time the children received. Our last 2+ months were spent indoors with only a handful of walks outside noted on daily reports."
"Overall we are very happy with the school."
"My daughter has attended this school for short of 2 years. 2 years ago, I would have given a full, 5-star endorsement, however it seems as if the (new) ownership of La Petit Academy LLC is driving the school away from what originally attracted many of the local parents. The core of quality teachers and happy staff left the school due to the direction (misdirection) given by new leadership. They have backfilled these departures with a mixed bag of good, bad and worse.
Parents are genuinely concerned but "holding out" hoping that the ship rights itself soon but many have begun visiting surrounding schools looking for alternatives for their children. There are still a few wonderful attributes that the school can build upon, but there are some glaring "weak links" that the "Corporation" simply turns a blind eye to or fails to invest in better."
"Good teachers, very well run school!! Great big playground!!"
"We loved our lead teacher and since his departure, we have been torn on whether or not to stay at this school. The staff is great but I think there are concerning communication issues between the director and her staff. I'm really not sure how much longer we will be enrolled here if turnover stays as high as it's been (three leads in 9 months for my child). If things don't turn around come the new school year, we will be finding a new childcare situation which is really unfortunate since there are so few Montessori options in our community and we love the teaching methodology."
"We have had an amazing experience with our child's teachers....both are wonderful and we are very sad that one is retiring this year. Based on our poor experiences with the director and with the assistant director leaving and now the teacher it may be time to check other options."
"The Director seems very disengaged. She didn't know the lockdown procedure when we asked her about it. She doesn't know my child's name. On a positive note, she does seem to take a couple safety concerns fairly seriously when brought to her attention. If she could get more engaged with the kids / parents, be friendlier / chattier, that would make me feel more comfortable. I want to see more interest from the person in charge of my little one's care!"
"The school is great overall. We recently had a bunch of snow days and cancellations. Rose, the director did a great job communicating with parents as best as possible. I have one suggestion, when the school opens 2 hours late, the school opened at 10:30. It would be very helpful if instead there was a drop off window from 10 to 10:30. This would be two hours delayed from the normal 8-8:30 drop off window. Many of us also take children to local elementary schools that begin at 9:50 on a 2 hour delay and then we have to wait another 40 minutes to drop off at the preschool. Also, many workplaces that are opening late open at 10 am so this extra half hour would really help working parents. I hope you will consider this small change that would help out a lot of families."
"I'm disappointed in the lack of progress reports or communication on how my child is performing. We have been told to ask if there a questions. We have questions every day on how days went but we are left with a three year old reporting how the day went instead of an adult. This is unacceptable to us and we are looking at other schools because of this."
